Mission Name: | Ambulance Chasing [see: Vampire Vacation Violence for additional background information] |
Team Type: | Pursuit and Counter-Retrieval Force |
Purpose: | Several teams of well equiped vampires are believed to be present in London seeking to gain control of powerful Britons by using tainted artificial blood. While investigation into the operations of the conspiracy has caused the life of one agent, we now have managed to gain a great deal of actionable intelligence. While the Vampires are aware that their security has been compromised, they don't seem to have realized the amount of information we've gained. By conducting a series of simultaneous raids in Great Britain and abroad, we can strike a serious blow to this organization before it gets a chance to slip into the shadows and regroup. The nature of the Pursuit and Counter-Retrieval (P&CR) team's target is rather unusual. At present, the mind-control agent present in tainted blood requires extensive testing to detect, but, also requires at least one liter infused into the victim to be effective. Hospitals would be the intuitively obvious site for a clandestine transfusion, but as they have been long known as potential target of undead activity they proved too hard a target for these conspirators. Abduction of a high-rank official is also possible, but stepped up security since the VVV mission has led the Vampires to pursue another alternative. There are presently two vans wandering the streets of London, awaiting a medical emergency by any of a list of prominent British government, business, and societal leaders. Over the next week, should none of these officials encounter a genuine accident, the Vampires have made preparations to induce an emergency, an easier task than abducting and returning an official without attracting any attention. Once one of these accidents occurs, an one of the vans will arrive in the guise of an ambulance and take the subject to an area hospital. The travel time will be more than sufficient for the partial transfusion and the telltale signs of the bodywork would not seem out of place after the subjects arrival at the hospital. |
Operational Details: |
The pursuit and counter-retrieval team's portion of this sting will be perhaps the most dangerous of the sting operation. Because we did not gain sufficient information to find these vans, we'll be drawing them out by faking two simultaneous daytime accidents supposedly involving prominent officials. The vampires will likely rely on thralls disguised as EMTs to retrieve the body, but once these innocent dupes are out of the way, we'll begin radio jamming and then take the vehicles down. Ideally, the P&CR will ambush and destroy the vans before they have a chance to react. Hopefully, even if the two ambulances do not arrive at their separate sites simultaneously, the radio jamming will mean the later vehicle will not be the wiser. More likely, one or both of the armoured vans will escape the ambush before we manage to destroy it, possibly even after dropping their disguise but before arriving on site. In this event, the mission shifts from counter retrieval to pursuit. We have chosen locations and will be manipulating traffic flow to minimize the possibility of potential civilian casualties, but of course caution will still be necessary. The opposition force will be made of of elite vampire security forces. Intelligence has revealed the possible presence of at least one elder vampire among the opponents, hence the use of SAB agents rather than conventional Mi-5 forces |
Briefing Start Time: | 1100 GMT: August 4, 2020. |
Conspiracy Details: | The tainted blood was being produce by Hemocorp pharmaceutical, the premier creator and marketer of artificial blood on the market today. It seems that the manager of the high-tech manufacturing facility is directly responsible for the tainting. However, Derk Johnson, suspected vampire, is the majority shareholder, leading to suspicions, as of yet unverified, that the culpability goes farther up. |
Vampire Security Forces: | These forces tend to be utilize body armour and be heavily armoured. . Powers are highly variable, but they often include speed, strength, and resilience. Daylight, beheading, holy water, a stake through the heart, and fire tend to be the most effective means of killing them. However, the 'rules' are not always consistent as there are many known strains of vampirism |
Elder Vampires | The movements of known elder vamps are closely monitored, even in countries willing to give them shelter. Moreover, their numbers have been greatly depleted by modern technology. As a result, elders tend to lay careful long term plans and concentrate on political prowess while maintaining sterling public images. Thus, most fighters tend to be youths, dangerous, but not sufficiently powerful to draw the attention of hunters. There are of course exceptions, extremely dangerous by necessity, and often capable of reincarnation. Even these exceptions tend to spend most of their time in hiding or disguised. As a result, no specific forewarnings can be given, aside from a listing of some powers vampires sometimes accrue with age.
