Passing trains in the Eastern and Western portions of the Channel Tunnel were derailed at 0920 GMT. There were 715 passengers on the Eastern train, 672 on the Western for a total of 1,387 potential hostages (casualty figures from the derailment are unknown but unlike to exceed 50).

The perpetrators were a previously unknown group calling itself the Nationalistic Liberation Confederation (NLC). Their initial demands called for the immediate dissolution of the European Union (EU) and a full restoration of sovereignty to all member countries. A Greek member of the European Parliament was executed on the close circuit camera's in the tunnels after refusing to read this message. An NLC spokesperson then threatened to kill an additional ten hostages each hour until their demands were met.

Given the tactics employed by the NLC and the national distributions of hostages a French led pan-European paramilitary hostage rescue force was sent into the Chunnel from both ends. That force was handily defeated via apparently mystical methods. Casualties were limited to 19 of the paramilitary officials thanks to the decision of the remaining squad commanders to retreat in the face of the opposition the force was not equipped to handle.

At this time, the demands were updated to withdraw the initial requirement and instead require the dissolution of the European Rapid Response force with emphasis on its anti-mystical unit.

It is the belief of the British Government that this terrorist incident is a trap meant to defeat, discredit, and marginalizes the anti-mystical unit of the EU. The EU commander on the ground rejected this premise and the subsequent conclusion that Mi-5 should handle this incident. As a result, the Wetwork team will be sent in while any EU action is delayed by jurisdictional squabbling. The Wetwork team will be inserted via the assistance of a touch-kinetic who will also protect against any attempt to flood or cave-in the tunel.

• Use of armour piercing heavy weaponry/explosives may pose the risk of a localized cave-in.
• Lights, other sensors, and CCTV for the area in question have been taken offline. Night vision/IR goggles are available and recommended.
• Passengers were apparently subdued via heavy use of a knock-out gas. Gas masks are available and recommended.
• The NLC apparently does have access to low yield explosives including proximity mines.
• One of the proximity mines was deactivated and brought back by the retreating para-military force. The device had a remote controlled safety of some sort but it's exact nature is unknown.
• Radio jamming is in effect. There is one communication band available that the terrorist have reserved for themselves. We can equip you with jamming equipment to counter this.

1. From facial analysis and calls to family and friends of the passengers we believe that no more than twenty, probably a dozen, conventional NLC members are on the train.
2. They are armed with assault weaponry, use gas masks, but by and large did not appear to have body armour.
3. Of those men and women we recognized, even the likely officers of the force are criminals or fairly low rank reactionaries. Conventional targets will likely have only moderate combat skill tactical sense and skill with their weaponry. However, they appear to be operating under someone's plan and are quieted willing to compensate for this via firepower.
4. The majority of this group according to a highly limited psych. analysis have at least some hope of escaping with their lives. There are likely to be some exceptions.
5. Be prepared for dealing with members willing to blow themselves up, perhaps even under claim of surrender. Given this case and the number of hostages use of lethal force is authorized against apparently surrendering terrorist targets when the situation does not allow for safely neutralizing/incapacitating them.
6. Be prepared for terrorists posing as hostages and using hostages as humans shields. Use discretion in these situations, the wetwork team is authorized to error on the side of immediate use of force with the understanding that some hostages may die as a result but mission failure may result in a total loss of all hostage lives.
7. We do not believe they have the means to allow the destruction/flooding of this entire section of the Chunnel without assistance of mystical means. Use of conventional time may be possible if we give them sufficient preparation time, which increases the urgency of this mission.

Mystical support:

1. The NLC is a new organization although the reactionary groups it draws from do not have a record of dealing with the mystical. Given the nature of the threat any individual with mystical powers who associates him/her/itself with such even comparatively weak terrorist groups tends to be the target for immediate incapacitation.
2. As a result, we expect that the mystical elements of this force will be mercenaries or the members of an allied but as of yet unknown mystical organization.
3. They have a member capable of moving a large amount of equipment past security. This is suspected to be either a cyber mage, an illusionist, a teleporter or someone capable of opening some sort of storage portal. It is also possible, but deemed less likely, that there could be a supernatural capable of simply generating this much equipment out of available parts or thin air.
4. Most of the retreating elements of the initial para-military force found walls of ice blocking portions of the tunnel. These were apparently used in combination with explosives to kill a large portion of the assault teams.
5. CCTV revealed that one of the trains was apparently derailed when a large bulge of crimson rock broke the rail in front of it. We believe this to be a mystical phenomenon, but its exact nature is unknown.
6. Given apparently internal by-pass of some security measures by a high ranking and trusted member of Chunnel security and the possibility that an early scout of the para-military intentionally reported back incorrect information: we believe they have at least one agent capable of mind control.
7. We believe some member of the team or some combination of the members have the capacity, likely assisted by equipment, to destroy this entire section of the Chunnel.

You will be assisted on this mission by a touch-kinetic with the power level to counter structural attacks and flooding on the Chunnel. She is a prisoner of the British Government for a variety of high crimes and is only assisting in exchange for a brief period out of direct confinement.

One agent on the mission will be guarding Ms. Yates. This agent has the authority and ability to shock, tranquilize, or kill her as necessary to ensure her cooperation and prevent her escape.

We believe she will be completely unanticipated and is your best hope of preventing the apparent death-trap from being sprung. If she does not attempt to escape we intend to honor our agreement and bring her back alive, if not necessarily conscious.

Powers of Ms. Yates:

1. Nearly invulnerable to kinetic based weaponry (ex: guns, swords, clubs, shrapnel).
2. Vulnerable to environmental damage (heat, cold, electricity, and gasses)
3. Somewhat vulnerable but fairly resistant to most mystical powers.
4. Tendency to use earthen shields and fast tunneling against attacks that she is vulnerable too.
5. Capable of moving vast amounts of any materials she is in contact with (within a certain range). Her precision however is relatively minimal.
6. Capable and wiling to twist and kill with ease any target not heavily armoured that comes into direct contact with her. Armour buys time.
7. Vulnerable to force fields and energy/light based weaponry.
8. Quite intelligent and by no means to be trusted. However, does value her own life.
9. If the agents assigned to the task fails or is incapacitated use of any means necessary, short of NCB-level or saturation bombing level casualties, including overall mission failure, are authorized to prevent her escape should she attempt such. Taking her alive is not the priority.

80,000 pounds:

1. Save as many hostages as possible
2. Do not allow the escape of the touch-kinetic accompanying you (this objective will be tasks primarily to a single agent).
3. Prevent the destruction of this section of the chunnel.

• 20,000 pounds: Take one member of the terrorist group, high ranking/informed for full reward, alive and in condition to be questioned.
• 10,000 pounds each: Incapacitation of each mystical agent assisting the terrorists.
