[Date: October 8, 2020 [Mad Dog walks out of the sim chamber, face scowling and looking very tired. She's unhurt, but hey, sim chamber. She yanks the bandanna off her unbraided hair, and angrily lights a cigarette. If anyone can actually accomplish that, it's Maggie.] [She throws herself in a nearby chair and puffs. Start!] * Saldin enters the general area. She (yes, she today!) is wearing her monk's outfit in a fairly normal manner. She, stuningly enough, looks around a little bit as she gets her bearings. * Marguerite is now surrounded in a little cloud of smoke. She's already lighting up another cig as the first one sputters and dies. * Warlow's working on her bayonet technique off in a corner of the training area. Otherwise nobody's around. * Saldin mms at Warlow, then looks over towards Maggie before walkinig over to her and her cloud. * Marguerite looks up at Saldin as she approaches. * Saldin nods to Maggie. "Hello, Mad Dog." * Marguerite hesitates. A look passes over her face like she's not sure whether to be angry or sullen, and she finally collapses into the latter. "Hey." * Warlow switches to work on crowd shotgunning. Fortunately she also switches to a practice weapon that isn't incredibly load. You... ah, seem to be in a poor mood. Not that fucking hard to guess. * Saldin smiles slightly. "No, I wouldn't say so." You want something or you here cause the universe thinks I need a therapist? Mmm? Ah, well, I am a fair hand at therapy... * Saldin shakes her head slightly, "But somehow I think it's more important that I tell you something." * Marguerite lights another cigarette. "Yeah?" * Saldin adds a warm smile. "After, of course, I compliment your exorcism. The advantage you had aside, you have a certain flair for the task." * Warlow staggers for a bit as she works but keeps on her feet. She safely docks the weapon she was using and wipes off her brow, before getting a drink of water from a bottle she got with her. * Marguerite chuckles despite herself. She thinks, then takes a breath. "It was a little over the top, wasn't it." Slightly, yes, but no one could doubt your convictions... although some might argue with your faith. * Warlow then slowly walks by you, dragging her feet slightly. She nods as she passes but doesn't stop for to chat. Even me. I ain't had faith in much for a long fucking time. * Saldin nods slightly at Warlow and says, "That does not surprise me. However, if you ever wish to develop that exorcists' talent..." * Marguerite blinks. What, you mean do that shit on other things? Like you monks? * Saldin nods slightly. "That would be the idea, yes." * Warlow trudges upstairs. * Marguerite stops frowning, and starts looking thoughtful. "Do I have to give up money?" (/me snickers) * Saldin smiles slightly, in amusement. "Aestheticism is a large part of my life, and a major tenant in buddhism. If, of course, you wished to walk the buddhist path, I would be pleased, but I more had in mind a few other more... understanding traditions." * Saldin adds with an almost conspiritorial look on his face, "Then again, even some monks carry guns nowadays." Yeah, I noticed. She keep that thing clean? * Saldin blinks. "Ah... I would not know?" Yeah, guess you wouldn't. * Saldin stretches her arms behind her back slightly. "I would hope she is learning to handle her tools well." * Marguerite thinks. "I do this, killing that bitch gets easier, right?" * Saldin frowns and licks her lips. "That is... actually what I need to talk to you about. It is good fortune that I arrived so early." What, you gonna tell me it's a bad idea? I know it's a fuckin' bad idea. * Saldin shakes her head slightly. "It is a worse idea than I think you realize." She takes a seat near Maggie.. Losin' my job and another country I'm welcome ain't fucking well enough? Sadly, no. * Saldin leans forward towards Mad Dog. "I am afraid the knowledge you were going to use to defeat her has..." she pauses, then says, "Ah yes. Strings attached." ... shit. Lemme guess, this crap is par for the course. * Saldin looks at Maggie for a second then nods slightly and says quietly. "Perhaps. But... divinations tend to have purposes and conditiions, and when those are... twisted, the world tends to twist back." * Marguerite looks at Saldin blankly. "Okay, assume I haven't fucking had Fucked Up Shit 101 or whatever and lay it out." ... I will try. * Saldin chews her lip for a bit and finally says, "Would it suffice to say that killing Yvonne would have supernaturally unexpected and unpredictable negative consequenses for you and others?" Shit. Loud and fucking clear. * Saldin smiles weakly. "That is good. Not pleasant... but good." * Marguerite looks angry again. "So she gets off fuckin' free for jerking me around like that. Shit." * Saldin offers no response to that. How bad are we talkin'? I kill her, I die, or what? * Saldin says with a very faint frown. "I do not know. I am without complete knowledge. But the purpose of the divination was certainly not her death." * Saldin leans back in her chair. "The desires of certain wealthy individuals aside." * Marguerite bites down hard enough on her cigarette that she literally bites it in two. "Fuck." * Saldin blinks at the bitten cigarette, then says, "If you could relay that to anyone else who might know about this, I would be thankful." * Eckerd descends the staircase about now and looks over to the two of you. * Marguerite looks up as she lights a new cigarette. "Yeah, I'll tell 'em." * Saldin nods with a smile before looking over at Eckerd and says, loudly, "Ah, Dame Eckerd. Do you come to train with your employees?" * Marguerite looks over to Eckerd. On occassion. Although Mary has been too spent from dealing with Breaker and keeping in practice to spar. How are you doing Ms. McLochlane? Pissed the fuck off. But apparently you're not gonna get to fire me yet. For killin' that whore, anyhow. Well, that's good to know. Decided not to kill her? Not out of any great personal fucking revelation. * Saldin just sort of sits there incredibly still. I'd kill her but apparently I'm just not allowed. Oh? I assume you aren't refering to English criminal law. * Marguerite snrks. "No. Somethin' about how I got her name." * Eckerd thinks for a moment and nods. She then looks to Saldin. "So, would you deem her demons a threat to the general public?" * Saldin shakes her head slightly. "No more or less than she herself would be." * Eckerd nods. "Which begs the question." * Saldin stands slowly. "That is a question of man and woman. I am not her keeper, nor her employer, nor her lover." Jesus, what an answer. * Saldin looks between Eckerd and Maggie. "Well, I am under a slight impression it is a question you are attempting to answer on your own." * Eckerd eyes Saldin for a second. "Well then, I am glad you've decided not to kill her Ms. McLochlane. I rather need her for a coming mission." She looks over the two of you. "But..." * Saldin 's flat white gaze gravitates to the Dame. When that mission ends, apparently her ties to her origin will be in a great deal of flux. ::she looks to Saldin:: As one you chose for your team, you may wish to decide if you want to influence that choice. What the fuck does that mean> * Eckerd looks to Maggie. "In laymans terms, the we're severing ties to the dimension some of her powers are tied to. That changes things." * Saldin makes a thoughtful mming noise, then nods slightly. "I am less surprised than you might expect. The stone thing in the tunnel shares those ties." * Marguerite screws up her face and gnaws on her cig, but is silent. * Saldin then looks right at Eckerd. "However, she made her choice long ago, and has not yet wanted to change it." She smiles slightly at her. "I hope to be there to see and guide myself, but one does not second-guess the universe." * Eckerd eyes Saldin and then smiles. "I see that while charity is covered by your lifestyle, sharing isn't." * Saldin laughs faintly. "Concerns of man, Dame Eckerd. All comments have their time and place." * Eckerd nods. "Your choice." She looks to Maggie. "I'm glad to continue to have you in my employ." * Marguerite waves her hand. "Might not want to let me on tricky missions for a bit. Finger might slip." * Eckerd nods. "I'll keep that in mind." * Saldin mms slightly, then asks. "Has anything new turned up in regards to, ah, the other ongoing investigation?" * Saldin glances at Maggie then to Eckerd again. * Eckerd shakes her head and glances around. "At present, we're focusing on determining Saki's role in this." She looks to Maggie. "You'd recommend giving her warning, but keeping information flow to a minimum for now, yes?" * Marguerite nods. "Don't flush the deer before you've got your shot." She pauses. "Guess it's foxes here, isn't it." * Eckerd nods. "Well, you keep it up on your end and we'll work on finding those weapons. We should have results within a weak or two." (week) * Saldin mms slightly. "Let us hope that the invisible adversasry does not pursue another angle before it would be too late." * Marguerite shrugs. "Right." * Eckerd nods. Well, I 'll notify her that there is an ongoing investigation regarding the forces that she fought in Bug Zapper. If she's clean, that will hopefully keep her on her toes. (And wrapping up soon on my end, you guys can keep talking if oyu like though) [End!]
