[Date: October 10, 2020 6 pm. Weather: Cold and still not raining.] [Saki gets ahold of Taki and we'll say they manage to make arrangements to meet to save time.] [They make arrangements to meet at a McDonald's near a hotel Taki's been to.] [Start] [Start!] * Saki pulls into McDonald's and parks her bike. She walks towards the building, clad in leather and wearing her shades. (Remember, Taki will have to walk up. As she hasn't been to this one before) * Saki heads inside and orders food while she's at it. [The food process is pretty efficient, although they still have people at the register. Humans are sometimes still cheaper than automation.] [A short time later one of London's trademarked black cabs pulls up, and after a bit of negiotating with the driver, the passanger steps out of the back and looks at the fast food restraunt. She's a short asian woman in her mid thirties with brightly colored two-tone hair and violet eyes. Her hair no longer falls across her face and her scars, while faded, are still clearly visable. She takes a deep breath and walks in.] [The McDonald's is somewhat busy. Taki gets a few curious looks but seems like we don't have any hockey fans around at the moment.] * Saki waves from a booth as she eats her burger. She hasn't changed in the slightest since Taki knew her. Even her clothing style is the same. * Taki stands near the door and looks around worriedly. When she sees Saki she waves back hesitantly, and then walks over. Y...you wanted to talk to me? Yo. * Saki shrugs. "Heard you were in the area, is all." [McDonald's current experimental product line involves more organic food. Isn't selling all that well, because people that care don't tend to come to McDonald's.] * Taki shakes her head. "I'm... not... any more than I'm anywhere else I mean. I'm... not. I can't stay. I'm... just not cut out for... everything that happens here." Yeah, heard that too. Still, you're here now. Have a seat. * Taki gives a small nod and then haistily sits down. "Wh...what's happening? And... do I ... need to put that up first?" Hm? Oh. That. * Saki looks around for anyone paying more attention than they should be. [There are a few people checking out Saki and someone seems to be trying to fiure out if he recognize Taki.] (recognizes) Maybe you better. (Greg, should I even bother to roll this?) (Naw) * Taki flickers and all the other people in the restraunt vanish. "Okay... Why am I here?" * Saki leans back. "Geez. It's been almost twenty years now. I figured maybe you'd want to chat a bit." * Taki laughs nerviously. "I... I'm not much for conversation any more...and if that's all you wanted... I'd rather do it someplace where I don't have to keep this up." Works for me. Where to? * Taki shrugs. "I ... don't know... we can go anywhere... Nearly anywhere in the world..." You pick a spot. (Talks to Greg about spots) * Taki closes her eyes for a moment and then stands up. "I... think I know a good spot." She then holds out her hand to Saki. * Saki nods and takes Taki's hand. (Confirmed. Katherine gave info to Saki) (And can Ard watch?) [Suddenly the friendly colors of the McDonalds have been replaced by somber greens and browns of a small clearing in an evergreen forest There's the sound of a stream nearby, but it's out of sight.] (I don't object) (It's also cold here.) * Saki glances around, a hand on her hip. "Hm." (Brett: You object to Ard watching?) * Taki pulls her hand away from Saki. "There... there shouldn't be anybody here." ( Nah ) * Saki nods. "I guess it will do." * Ardsemidle has joined #sab2020 * Taki nods. "Tha... that's good... You wanted to talk about what I've been up to?" Sure (Just in case this doesn't end by 6 MST, I will let you guys wrap up w/o me. Just try to resolve anything that needs a GM call before then.) ( K ) * Taki takes a deep breath. "Where should I... begin." (Shall I just cut with blah blah blah, Taki proves herself to still be spinless? Then?) (I think you should work out Taki's thoughts faster than five minutes for one line. ;P) * Saki shrugs. "Where would you like to? What have you been doing with your time, aside from hockey?" (Sorry, I'm trying to work out the right order of things from three seperate sets of notes ^^;) How about your kid? * Taki swallows. "I... visited Tim a few days ago... I ... I'm not going to again for a long time unless a miricle or a tragedy occorse... I just can't face him." * Saki takes off her shades and leans against a tree. "Why?" she asks, gazing at Taki. It looks like something has changed about her in the past eighteen years after all: her eye color. He's ... it's ... Everything I can't control about my life... He's ... I'm not going to pretend that it started with him... but afterwords... everything was just too much. I'm not like you or Kathy. I can't live like tha... this. * Saki runs her hands over her eyes. "Yeah..." ( Well, at least you don't live with Kaede.) So how are you going to live, then? ( You're a wimp!) (* Saki beats up Taki and takes her lunch money) * Taki swallows. "I... I'm going to stay with hockey untill Satoshi retires and.. .and then I'm going to open a restruant of my own, and I'm going to stick with that untill I can't any more." (* Taki vanishes and leaves Saki in the middle of nowhere.) And the kid? ( Sell him for organs) * Taki looks down. "He ...he's never listened to me. It's his decision now... I'm going to pray that he makes good ones. It... it's all I can do for him now." Mmm. How about Satoshi? What does he say about all this? ( Need to afk for a sec for food ) * Taki looks up at Saki. "He... he still wants to help, but he doesn't know how." (Read Kate is never online when I remember that I want to ask her about that. ^^;) (Msg: Ciara. She just won't be on long.) (Change that to He... he thinks Tim might be ready for it. ^^;) ( Back ) Ready for what? * Taki speaks softly. "Ready to live his own life... without me or Kathy trying to help him anymore." (Kathy or me. Hello grammer, how are you today?) (and spellng. ar) Hmm... I wonder if you ever stop needing help from your parents? * Saki shakes her head. "Eh, nevermind that. I wouldn't be a good person to talk about that." * Taki blinks at Saki in confusion and then nods. I guess I was kind of lucky, in a twisted way. My parents were murdered, so I didn't have to watch them grow older and older. * Taki looks very very distant for a moment and then nods. "It's ... difficult." I know about Tim's aging. * Taki rubs at her eyes with the back of her hand. "We... we can take care of him and my father ... when the time comes. Tha... that's another reason for him to... to... to be able to enjoy his freedom while he can." * Saki folds her arms. "That's one way of looking at it, yeah. But the other way is he's a lot younger than he looks." * Taki nods. "I ... I know that, but there isn't... I can't tie a leash around his neck to keep him out of trouble... and he runs away from anything less." * Saki nods. "Yeah. Doesn't mean he should live his life on his own, though." * Grysar runs off. (Someone please keep a log for me. I may log on from class, it'll depend on the connection. * Disconnected * Attempting to rejoin channel #sab2020 * Rejoined channel #sab2020 * Topic is 'http://www.livejournal.com/community/sab2020/ | #sabooc for dice and ooc | #sabwatch for IC non-combatants ' * Set by Grysar on Sun Dec 05 20:01:35 * ChanServ sets mode: +o Grysar * Taki looks up at Saki. * Saki pushes herself off the tree. "You keep saying that you can't look after him. That you can't live like Katie or me. You make it sound like we're strong, like this sort of thing is second nature to us." (OKay, I'm online, but I may lose it. I won't watch, so msg me if you have questions. (Check.) But it's not. It isn't that easy. Life isn't that easy, whether you're Arcana or not. ( Kay ) And saying you can't handle him or your life or whatever is just a cop- out. * Taki shakes her head at Saki. "You... you... I can still remember the monster Yoshiko helped create... I can barely stand up to its MEMORY SAKI and I'm not even the one who did that! You can call it a cop-out if you want, and from where you are now, maybe it is. But to me this all I can do!" Yeah, well, I remember what that monster decided to do. Not a minute goes by that I don't think of it. And unlike you, I AM the one who did it. * Saki sighs. "Look, I didn't come here to talk about... the past. Or even Tim. All I'm saying is, if you wanna let him live on his own, fine. But don't shut him out. Regardless of what he may think he thinks about you, no kid wants to be rejected by his parents." * Taki calms down rapidly. "... I ... didn't he... I told you what I told him. I still care about him Saki, so much that it hurts... so much that I can't do anything. It's... " Yeah. I know you do. * Taki just falls silent. * Saki sighs. "Let's change the subject. Who created him, and why? I only know a few of the details." * Taki rubs at her eyes. "It was... Dr. ... Alblimber I think his name was ... and from what was left of his notes... he wanted to clone an army of teleporting soldiers that would never run out of weapons... Or at least that's what he decided he wanted after he got Kyoko and me. I think he just wanted a magic army before that... there wasn't much left after Satoshi tore the place apart." * Saki nods. "So he's dead?" * Taki shudders. "Very very very dead." * Saki nods. "Was he... did he happen to work for a corporation?" (*prods Greg.) * Taki shakes her head. "I... don't think so." * Saki nods. "Guess it would be too convenient if they were related. Well, how did this guy find out about you, then?" * Taki rubs her eyes again. "It was ... in a book, I remember him ranting about that.." She shakes her head. "I don't remember how he found me. If...If anybody does it'd be Kathy." * Saki blinks. "A book?" * Taki nods. "We... we never found it... and the place burned." * Saki frowns. "Hmmm..." * Saki shrugs. "So what else is new?" * Taki glances down at her hands for a moment and then shakes her head. "I... I try to lead a quite life... I could tell you about how the Hawks(Satoshi and her team) are doing... but... I don't think you want to hear that." (quiet. ;p) * Saki nods. "How's he been?" (Q-U-I-E-T) (yes.) (You keep telling me that.) (Also I need to leave for class in ten or so) ( I figured she was trying to say "quite a life" ) ( Oh. We can finish then. ) * Taki blinks "Satoshi?" (Taki doesn't THINK ABOUT SATOSHI.) * Saki nods. (No, Taki didn't mention his name, just the team they're on) (Parens wern't ment to be spoken) ( Oh :P ) ( Well, then change my question to "How's Satoshi been?" :P ) * Taki actualy smiles and relaxes. "He's doing very well. He's helping to coach a pee-wee team this year and having the time of his life with it. We're making plans about some other things, but... we'll have to see how things turn out." * Saki nods. "Good luck to you." * Taki nods and then swallows. "And... good luck with what you're doing. I... if somebody is trying to make another Tim... I... I can't fight with you, but if you ... if you need me to take you somewhere..." Hm? Oh, no, I don't think anyone is trying to do that. I just thought.... well, nevermind. Actually, though... Maybe I'll get back to you on that offer. I might need it pretty soon. * Taki nods slightly. In the meantime, maybe we better go back to London, eh? * Taki nods fully. "Ju... just don't expect me to stick around." * Saki nods. "It's cool. I have plans of my own." * Taki holds out her hand to Saki. "Back to the McDonalds?" * Saki nods and takes her hand. "Gotta get my bike." [Taki and Saki are suddenly standing in a strangely empty fast food restruant, and then just as suddenly Taki is gone and the restruant is full of the dinner crowed again.] (-e) (and I run to class now.) ( Later. ) (Bye Gryph.) * Taki has quit IRC (Quit: I can't decide o/~ ) * Saki blinks a few times and heads out towards her bike. "I'll never get used to that." [And that's the End!]
