[Time: 10/13/20 7:21 AM. Location: Forest near the village previously besiedged by werewolves.] [Kahlya is presently possessing Mandy's body, although Mandy has retained some control.] [They had been fleeing a robed nemesis that just used one of Kahlya's attacks against her.] [Fortunately, the robed figure failed to calculate for the weaknesses of Kahlya's attack. For the moment it has disappeared after being crushed by a tree.] [Resume!] (Her attacks have weaknesses? ^_~) (Ahem!) * Mandy is still fleeing. (Trust me, whenever I get a chance to punish someone with backlash, the punishment will be intense. ^_~) * Kahlya mutters some things mentally that probably aren't appropriate for Mandy's ears. Then mutters several more things that are DEFINITELY inappropriate. ~This is all wrong. All wrong. How could that be me? It *sounds* like me. Well, not entirely, but it sounds like it could be me..~ * Mandy stops for a moment on hearing Kahlya's curses, her mind fairly disturbed. ~Is that even physically possible~ ~Well, I never thought entering someone else's body like this were possible either but well, there you are...~ ~And why the hell did you stop? That thing could still be after us...~ ~I meant the cursing. I mean I didn't know what most of the words meant, but I picked up something from telep-- Oh, right!~ * Mandy gets running again. ~Telepathy? You have that?~ ~Well, you're in my head. It's not quite the same as just talking.~ ~Oh...right...~ * Kahlya seems...well, maybe disappointed. She's trying to hide the emotion as much as she can. * Mandy keeps running. ~I'm sorry... I wish I had neat abilities like that.~ ~I've got to get in touch with ma...y friend. He can't just leave me like this...~ ~How do you normally contact him?~ [The "ma" is stretched out and changed midway so it sounds like it's attempted to say "my"] ~It's a long story. And I need to get my scythe back. Or at least find out what happened to my body...~ ~She. He. It. It said the Thames right? Where's the Thames?~ * Mandy slows her pace to more of a jog. But she seems fit enough to keep that up for some time. ~It did. Maybe we should talk to your friend first. I don't know if I can run long enough to reach the Thames.~ ~And your parents can't drive us can the...no, of course not. I mean they don't even believe the werewolf thing. Adults can be so silly.~ * Kahlya closes her eyes. That is Mandy's eyes. Just for a second. ~You can rest for a bit...I think....as long as I try not to use any powers, I don't think it can find me as easy...let's hope I'm right...~ ~Where'd the light go?! Oh, right. Hmm... We could go to Father Doyle. He believes in ghost and stuff. But I'm not sure he's willing to help them.~ ~Can he take us to the Thames?~ * Kahlya opens her eyes with the sudden change in train of thought. ~Probably.~ * Mandy slows to a walk. ~Let's go to him first. I'm rather upset at my friend right now. I don't think I'd be too pleasant.~ * Mandy stops for a moment and thinks over the area. She then starts walking in a different direction. ~Okay. But you should learn to forgive your friend. That's what friends do.~ * Mandy's tone is slightly chiding. * Kahlya lets out a mental sigh. ~Yes...except for the fact that he's probably the one responsible for my body being in the river...~ * Kahlya suddenly sounds uncertain. ~Though I'm not sure of that...~ ~Why would he put your body in the river?~ ~Because he thought I was dead?~ * Mandy lets the pole end of the scythe bump against the ground as she walks. ~Or....whatever you call it...~ * Kahlya sounds suddenly disturbed herself. ~In my family we call it dead. My parents don't belive in, oh, what's the word. Youth something. ~Youth what?~ * Kahlya suddenly snaps back into reality from her train of thought. ~Youth isms? I don't remember.~ She stops trying to think of the word and thinks in a rather straightforward tone ~Are you dead?~ ~I don't know yet. That thing said I was.~ ~Did...it said something about two worlds, didn't it? Do you have any idea what that means?~ ~It did. But it said some weird stuff too and was pretty mean, so I'm not sure we should listen to it.~ * Mandy thinks that over. ~You aren't part alien, are you? Like your dad was from Mars or something?~ [You can see the steeple of a church in the distance above the trees.] ~Nooo...I'm not part...anything...am I?~ * Kahlya sounds quite a bit confused. ~And you aren't an astronaut, right? I think you'd have to be older for that.~ * Kahlya laughs, so much that it comes out for real. ~Uh-uh. Though I think...did I want to be an astronaut when I was younger?~ * Kahlya goes back to confusion mode. * Mandy laughs a little too, causing the laugh to last longer. ~That felt funny. But you seem puzzled. Don't you remember what you wanted to be?~ ~I.....no, no. Not....really.~ ~Why not?~ [The trees are starting to thin out and a chapel that sits on a cliff is coming into clearer view.] ~Look, why all the sudden drilling? Let's just focus on talking to this father guy and get outta here, 'kay?~ * Mandy grins ~You're hiding something!~ * Mandy sounds proud of herself for realizing this. * Kahlya gets quiet and grumpy-feeling. [The chapel is an old stone one. Stained glass windows and heavy wood doors. There's a cottage a bit up the road. Mandy walks up towards that.] ~Aww, I'm sorry. I didn't want to hurt your feelings.~ ~...you really care about that don't you?~ * Mandy seems puzzled by that comment. ~Shouldn't I?~ * Mandy marches up to the cottage door and gets ready to knock. [Time: 7:30 am.] ~Well I haven't met many who...well, maybe Landis but...and that annoying fox...~ Landis? And a fox? Was it a talking fox? (~~) * Mandy holds off on the knocking. ~They're called Kitsunes and yes.~ ~Kitsune? That's a funny word.~ * Mandy then knocks. It's Japanese. That's where they originate from, or so I'm told. Really I think they're extradimensional though. [There's a male voice from inside. "Coming."] ~Extradimensional?~ ~You don't know what extradimensional means?~ ~You have extra dimensions?~ ~Well...yeah. I thought everyone knew that. What do they teach you in that school anyways?~ [And the door opens and there's a friendly looking grey haired man with a black shirt, pastorial collar, and a brown jacket. "Well, hello Mandy. Shouldn't you be in school?"] Hi father Doyle. And.. I.. uh.. ~I'll let you do the talking. At least for now.~ ~I don't know what to say!~ ~You're doing a research project and need someone to take you to the Thames as soon as possible? I don't know, make something up.~ ~And just hope he doesn't notice the scythe.~ Well.. you see... There was this field trip to London. The Thames river specifically. Only I was late and they left without me. And my parents are at work... * Doyle nods along. "Well come in. ::he turns to head in:: Let me just make a call or two. ::he turns back:: Are you carrying a scythe? ~I don't think he's buying it... ~Good adlibbing. You just may be a worthy apprentice after all.~ * Kahlya blurts out. "It's a walking stick." * Mandy then grins with pride. Oh. May I see it for a moment? * Kahlya holds it behind her back as she talks. "Sure. Just a moment." She concentrates on altering it to take away the sharp metal bits. (Power usage roll. No penalty) * Doyle takes the stick and looks it over with a puzled look. "Thanks." He gives it back and walks over to his house phone. ~Phew. Close...~ * Kahlya scratches her arm absently and looks around warily... [The cottage living room looks quiant but livable. Old computer, comfortable furniture, cross hanging on one wall, a bookshelf with some christian theological texts but also some books studying mystical/occult matters.] * Doyle looks through a church directory he keeps in a drawer under the phone. * Kahlya picks up a mystical text at random and flips through it. [This particular text analyzes classical ghost stories to determine which may hae a genuine basis.] * Kahlya keeps reading. If she's a ghost, it may have something that applies or is similar. [There are cases of possession that match up with what she's going through now.] * Kahlya flips the pages, particularly for anything about the ghost returning to life or anything like that. * Doyle hmms and starts dialing a number. ~I think he might be calling the school.~ * Kahlya tries to listen in on the phone conversation, trying not to pay too much attention. (On both ends.) (Give me an arcane (spirits) roll) (None of what she has applies, right?) (I'll let you use rituals) (Grrr. Major nope) (By 4.) Hello Mr. Phillips, it's Adrian Doyle. (I'm assuming Body score and HP/EP is the only one being shared with Mandy.) (miss by 4? And yes) (Miss by 4, yes) [Kahlya first finds stories on reincarnation.] * Kahlya looks up at the conversation, still trying to listen in. And of course, for Mandy's commentary on who Mr. Phillips is. ~He's calling my dad!~ * Kahlya walks over towards the phone and puts her finger on the part that hangs up the phone, pressing down and looking up at Doyle. "Please, sir, don't do that..." * Doyle looks down. "What's wrong Mandy?" * Kahlya shakes her head and holds up the book for Father Doyle. "What can you tell me about this?" * Doyles seems bemused. "First you tell me what's really going on." * Kahlya sighs, then is silent for a moment. Because she's talking to Mandy. ~Want to let me talk?~ ~I'd prefer it.~ * Kahlya shakes her head slightly. "If I knew what was really going on, I wouldn't be here." Well, what do you know? I know that I feel very confused. But...something's after us. And..." She takes a deep breath. "You have to help because Mandy's in danger." * Doyle loses the amused look. "Who are you?" "Someone who's not supposed to be here. Don't worry, Mandy's alright. And she can still be in control when she wants to. We're sharing." * Kahlya turns her head slightly to the side. "Say hi, Mandy." It's true! Your last sermon was about the good samaritan. But I nodded off because you covered stuff I already learned in sunday school. ~Good sa-whatian?~ * Doyle nods and he grabs a bible off his dresser and the metal cross on the wall. "Good enough for me. What's after you?" ~You don't know that story? How could you not know that story? Next thing you'll tell me you haven't heard of David and Goliath.~ ~I...sounds familiar but....ugh, I can't remember..~ ~Wow.. have you had amnesia?~ * Doyle awaits an answer. ~I don't...think so?~ Well it's...I'm not sure. But it's got a wicked scythe and...anyways, that's not important. We need to find out how to get to the Thames river. ~Well what's the first thing you can remember?~ ~I remember....mmm...I don't know if it's a good idea to tell you." Alright. We'll go there. Let me call the bishop so we can have backup meet us there. * Mandy feels hurt. ~You don't trust me?~ ~It's not that....~ ~...wow. That was easy.~ ~I can't help you if you won't tell me what's going on.~ * Doyle quickly moves to the phone, putting the bible down for a moment. He dials in a number he apparently has memorized. ~I...~ * Mandy waits. * Kahlya gets lower and a little more subdued. ~You really wanna know?~ I've got an emergency.... No, not more lycanthroy. I've got an article 11 possession. Right down to the scythe. She needs to get to the Thames. * Mandy goes so far as to nod. ~I'll keep your secret.~ * Doyle looks over. "Where along the Thames?" A what? I...I'm not sure yet. I've always gotten where I needed to go though... * Doyle nods and turns back to the phone. "We'll take the highway to London, give me a meeting point along the river." He then takes a few notes. ~Okay...~ She takes a deep mental breath. ~Promise that, whatever reaction you have, you'll keep it internal, okay? I don't want Father Doyle getting suspicious or anything...~ * Mandy nods and clasps her hands together. * Kahlya takes a deep mental sigh. ~The first thing I remember was getting discovered by a group of demons...~ * Doyle hangs up his phone then goes to a warddrobe in his room and quickly looks through it. * Mandy keeps very still. ~Like evil demons?~ ~Well...no, not really evil...just...well, let's just say not all of them were the prettiest.~ ~I...uh...think they were more scared of me than I was of them.~ ~Well, ugly doesn't mean evil.~ * Doyle looks over and holds up a wine bottle. "I don't suppose you have a water gun?" ~No. Or else I'd know some people who are mighty evil.~ A water...wha? Um...what's it look like? ~Do you have a watergun at home?~ A squirter. Like a super soker. * Mandy visualizes one. ~Not a good one. It leaks.~ We can hit a store. ::He holds out a six inch tall metal cross to Mandy:: You may need this to ward off the creature. I cou... * Kahlya suddenly jumps back. * Doyle blinks. "Right." He puts it in a cloth sack and hands it to Mandy. "Mandy can probably handle it even if it will surpress your powers. And what should I call you?" Mandy Two? We'll just go with two. Ugh. I was just kidding. My name's Kahlya. ...I think. * Mandy reaches out and takes the sack. No pain for Kahyla. * Doyle nods. "Kahlya it is. Let's go." He leaves the cottage. So what's an Article 11? Voluntary apparently benign possession. Now stop lollygagging. * Mandy walks out behind Doyl who goes to his old model hybrid car. He goes along to the drivers side and unlocks all the doors and gets in. Lolly...hey! Wait, if that's all it is, what's the "right down to the scythe" bit? Is that usual? No actually, it's mythical. Normally it depends on the ghost in question. ::Doyle opens up the armrest and puts his wine bottle, cross, andd bible there:: You do this often enough that you have codes for it? I don't, but the articles have been around for a long time. Now buckle up. * Kahlya buckles up. For safety! * Doyle pulls out of the driveway and gets moving at a quick but still safe pace. ~So what happened next?~ ~They thought I was a human. Which is silly. Because, you know, why would I be there if I were a human?~ ~But they literally said that. "What's your name, human?" It was so funny...~ ~Well do demons normally appear fully formed?~ ~It's been so long...I...~ * Kahlya thinks back to her classes in demonology. ~They can. I'm not sure how common it is though...why do you ask?~ ~Well, you looked mostly like a human when I saw you. Did you always look like that?~ ~...yeah? As far as I know...I've never had another form...~ ~Well, that's the first thing you remembered. So maybe you were born then or maybe you were human once and had amnesia.~ ~Why would I remember something from the moment I was born?~ ~I dunno. Maybe demons can do that.~ ~I...mmm...~ ~Yeah?~ Alright. Here's a gas station. If I remember correctly they sold water guns and other toys. ::He pulls over:: ~Nothing...~ * Doyle looks over to you. "Will you be alright in here for a minute?" I'll be fine. * Doyle turns off the car and goes into the gas station. ~Nothing?~ ~Nothing.~ ~Sure....~ ~You don't believe me?~ ~Look, this is all confusing. Until today, I thought...well, I wasn't sure what I thought. It's felt a little weird since I've got here but nothing like..this..~ ~Alright. I can understand that.~ [On the inside Doyle is now waiting in line at the regiter.] ~So you're perfectly normal?~ ~Maybe?~ (Visual Awareness check) (HS apply?) (Yes) [Kahlya sees the robed figure emerge from the forest on the opposite side of the street from the gas station.] * Kahlya holds her breath and stares at the mirror. She's getting pretty freaked now.. [It slowly moves acrossed the street towards the car. It's going faster then last time. Doyle still has two people ahead of him in line.] ~We've got to get out of here...urrgh...~ * Kahlya holds her hand out and tries to form her own soaker. No time to wait for the purchase. (Powerusage roll. +2 since it is somewhat complex.) ~We're probably safer with Father Doyle.~ [Kahlya make one. Nothing fancy, but fairly good quality.] ~You think?~ * Kahlya puts her other hand on the cardoor and opens it up, holding the soaker up to her. She runs into the store. * Doyle looks down to Mandy as to the other shoppers. * Kahlya runs up to Doyle and clutches his jacket, burying herself into it. "Hurry!" * Doyle nods and leaves the watergun on the counter. He rushes out and starts the engine... give me a luck roll. [And the engine doesn't turn over.] * Doyle scowls. "Darn it! Not now." He revs the engine again. "Pour the holy water in the bottle into your watergun." [Luck roll again. -2 bonus.] But I'm no good at...okay, whatever. * Kahlya looks through the pack for the holy water. [The creature is now halfway across the street. Doyle's car is another 3 meters away from the street.] [The only visible bottle is the wine bottle.] * Kahlya says lowly to herself, under her breath. Doyle may be able to hear it, but she forgot to go mental in the panic. "I really hope it doesn't know how to fully use Tear.." [Car continue to not turn over.] * Kahlya takes the wine and starts uncorking, pouring it into the gun as carefully as her mild panic can allow. [Alright, give me a -4 body roll to fill the bottle without spilling any of it. I'll take skills if you can justify one.] (Don't have Sleight of Hand, could justify an attack roll or performing arts but that'd be pushing it..a lot.) (Yeah, slight of hand is really the skill in question.) (Although I'll allow etiquette with a +2 I suppose. ;P) (Spilling is almost always a party fowl. ;P) (*snickers* I just did a straight roll) [And you get it in without spill any as the creature finishes crossing the street.] [Give me another luck roll. -4 bonus.] ~Can you shoot?~ ~With a watergun? Probably.~ ~But I can't see it. At all.~ ~No? Can't you...um...use my eyes or something? * Doyle keep reving the engine. "Where is it?" * Kahlya points. * Mandy focuses for a moment and you can feel her trying to occupy your mind for a moment. Resisting? * Kahlya lets Mandy take control...temporarily..but if anything happens... * Mandy rolls down the window and takes a shot. [She's pretty off at first but she keep squeezing and redirects her shot using the beam as a guide.] (Another luck roll. -6 bonus) (...now I get a high enough bonus to negate it and it gives me a roll that would have got me there two rolls prior. :P) * Doyle starts the car. He pulls out trying to stay away from where you pointed. * Mandy hits the thing dead on and it doesn't initially try to dodge and so takes full force of a few hit. It staggers and falls. Its hood falls back and revels Kahlya's face. Her complexion is pale and clammy and there's a gapping bloody bullet wound right above her left eye. * Mandy yelps! * Doyle doesn't look over. "Are you okay?" * Kahlya doesn't just yelp, she screams! * Doyle accelerates. "I'm thinking that's a no." "Stop! Stop!" She turns to Father Doyle. "What do you know? Tell me now!" [In the rear view mirror the creature slowly gets up.] * Kahlya looks back. "...hell. Keep going!" But tell me anyway! * Doyle slows and then accelerates again. "It's complicated. But death doesn't normally come for people. It's reserved for special cases. Normally mystical ones." [You leave the creature in your dust.] But that's not....is Death supposed to look like you?? * Kahlya waves her hands. "I'm not Death! I swear it! I wasn't even when I was alive. Well, I'm still alive...aren't I? * Kahlya goes back to gibbering. Not always. But think about it. A lot of the mystics and extra-planars are very powerful. How could a cosmic force guarantee it could match their abilities every single time. * Mandy holds one of her hand with the other. "Calm down Kahlya. You need to think clearly." ...yeah. It's a real threat to come after a little girl with a fuggin' SCYTHE. YOU calm down! You aren't the one who's supposed to be DEAD! * Mandy eeps. I'm not supposed to be dead. I'm not. It was all planned out...all of it... Cosmic force don't play fair. It will keep coming until you pass on, unless... ::Doyle cuts himself off:: What was planned? * Mandy hugs herself and tries to think soothing thoughts. No...no no...nothing. Nothing at all. I'm...well, I'm not in the safest line of work, I know but... * Kahlya tries to calm down and keep her thoughts in check. Information sharing goes two ways. What do you mean? What's your line work. How'd this happen? Why are we going to the Thames? * Doyle finally pulls on to a highway and heads to London. [Time: About 8 am.] * Kahlya takes a deep breath and closes her eyes. What is to follow will be said all in one breath. "My line of work is a mercenary for an organization for the detainment of unruly supernaturals. How it happened is I got shot. We're going to the Thames because that thing we just shot who looks JUST LIKE me except for the hole in the head and the pale skin told me that that's where my body was located." * Mandy pipes up. "She helped out with the werewolves." I've heard about those organization-- Oh, did she. And you remember about this Mandy? Yup! We should have a talk about your future at some point. But first Kahlya. Alright, sounds like you aren't ready to pass yet. Ready to what? That's good, right? Pass on. Move to the afterlife. And it's not really a good or bad thing as such. Does that mean I can come back? Once you pass on? Short answer is no. For now though you do have a few alternatives. They aren't pretty I'm afraid. What do they involve? And most of all... * Kahlya gets quiet and a little shameful now. "Why are you willing to help?" * Doyle get a faint smile. "I count this as parishioner service. Mandy can be a little hellion, but I trust her judgment." * Mandy gets a proud smile. "Aww.. thanks Father Doyle." Wait...you do? I mean...great! Glad to hear it! ~Gee, thank for your confidence~ ~I..um...~ First option is to permanently possess someone. That would surpress their consciousness. Obviously you won't be doing that. ~Yes?~ ~Nevermind.~ ~You and your nevermind.~ I...mmmm.. Yes? Nothing. Right. Second option is to repossess your body. Prof. Warlow would say it guarantees nothing but a life of evil, nihilism, and unending tourment. I always thought she was a bit fanatical on the issue though. Hmmm...you know her? She taught a few of my refresher courses. Oh. She probably has a point though. But if you're particularly attached to your body, that's the closest you can come to getting it back. Well what'll happen exactly? Essentially your soul will be bound to re-animated flesh. Stronger typically but less agile. Also dogs will bark as you pass, children will run in fear, candles will flicker, the usual. ...so I'll be a zombie... And you would want to stay away from shotguns, chainsaws, and reverends named Mary. And not exactly, you'll still have your full mental capacities and can avoid flesh eating. But that's the general idea. Gugh. What did I do to deserve this? * Doyle passes a few cars on the highway. Although he's still keeping it to seven miles per hour over the speed limit. But....until I leave Mandy, Death will keep chasing me, won't it..? * Mandy has given up thinking comforting thoughts and is now thinking ~Ewww.. zombies~ ~Not you too. I'll still be the same person. And you want your body back..don't you?~ Another option is to settle into a ghost form. Either short *voluntary* possessions or manifesting a non-coporeal body. ~Well, yes.. but still eww~ She then thinks for a moment. ~I'm sorry~ She hugs herself tigheter. ~I mean...the only other option is to take over your body...and I...~ ~Oh.. you could be a ghost. That's less icky. Except for the ectoplasm.~ She savors the word as she thinks it and also echo it out loud, pronouncing it correctly. Yes, there does tend to be some of that. ~But....~ Last option is to form a new one. Golems are the classic example, but apparently people do a lot with more robotic form. Also some extraplanar can form their own bodies. Unfortunately that tends to take some expertise which I'm betting you don't have. Mmm....from what? [And the traffic starts getting heavy, as it's still rush hour. Doyle slows to sixty kph or so. It depends on the technique really. I'm not an expert on those methods. I'm sorry. If there were a way...a way to amplify it... * Doyle thinks a moment. "Ah.. the water gun. You have some creation abilities of your own?" Not much...I don't think I could create something quite as heavy as a body is the problem... But...I still need to go to the Thames...I need to get it back before... ~Well your demon friends. Could they do it? I mean they taught you the technique, right?~ ~...yeah...but...it's not that easy to contact the...~ * Kahlya blinks. ~I'm going to say "what?" And then you aren't going to say nevermind or I'll tickle us til you answer. And I know that's supposed to be impossible, but I'll give it a try.~ ~Can you tickle yourse...oh.~ ~But I was just thinking my friend might be able to get in touch with them...~ ~You have to talk to your friend to go home?~ ~Home?~ ~Well, if you aren't human, that's your home, right?~ ~Not...really. I don't think so... ~Then where is your home?~ * RowynAway has joined #sabkahlya * Kahlya has quit IRC (SVSKilled: GHOST command used by RowynAway ) * RowynAway is now known as Kahlya ( ~Then where is your home?~) ~I...don't know. I haven't really thought about it I guess.~ ~That's weird...~ * Doyle slows the car more because of traffic. "It seem to be rush hour every time I need to go in the city. I'm going to switch to back roads. We probably won't get there until 9:30 or so, but it means we can keep moving at a good pace and won't get blocked in by traffic." We need to. I can...could move pretty fast if I wanted to. So do you want to try the backroads or do you want to use your methods? You know more about what's going on than I do. So I'd like you here just in case... * Doyle nods and he take the next exit. (Okay, essentially as is Kahlya is scheduled to arrive after the next major plot point in the Saki plot. So unless she's going to call in while riding, we can wrap up here for now.) (Call in to Terence?) (Right. If she's waiting to try to contact him until she tries for her body and tear then we can break) (If she's trying to get a hold of him while riding, that may change things.) (Mmm...let's continue) (Okay) (takes. Stupid s key is giving me trouble) * Kahlya sighs and leans back, closing her eyes slightly in her seat. "Can you see it too, Father, or am I the only one?" With practice I may be able to. Generally only those with mystical sight or strongly attuned to you can. * Doyle pulls off to back roads. He's keeping to about sixty kph and the lights are actually synced up effectively. Go future-tech. * Kahlya takes a breath. "Wonderful. I'm so exhausted...I don't know how long I can keep this up..." * Kahlya closes her eyes, just for a little bit. ~Mandy...~ ~Yes?~ ~I'm gonna...try something. I'm not sure if it'll work in this body but...it may get a bit crowded in here so...~ ~Contacting your friend?~ ~You may want to keep your thoughts to yourself. I don't want him to know...it's kind of against the rules but...this is an unusual situation..~ ~I'll try to keep quiet.~ * Kahlya nods. Actually nods. Which may seem odd without conversation, or since she has her eyes clothes, may just seem natural. (Mandy is rocking out. ;P) (Ha!) (And power usage against soul. +8 roll.) (Miss by 1) [Kahlya is quite certain that the connection is still there and she can use it in Mandy' body. However it has been shut down for the moment. And shut down with more occult skill than Terrance normally shows. Unfortunately so long a that barrier is there she'll have a hell of a time getting his attention.] [Occult roll, demons.] [Kahlya gets the gut feeling that the barrier wasn't to keep her out, but was more likely to prevent others from tracing her links to him.] ~What the...~ ~Something wrong?~ * Kahlya says, and thinks at the same time. "That was weird." ~Oops..~ What? Oh. Nothing. Sorry. Being possessed is still a little strange. * Doyle nods. "So how are you feeling Mandy?" It isn't so bad. I wonder if I'll be lonely when this is over. How could you not be lonely after losing someone as awesome as me? * Doyle chuckles. ~But...I wonder if I should try again...~ [Since you were close I'll allow it. Same penalty.] (No dice) [No luck. And she doen't think more attempts will help.] * Kahlya grits her teeth. "Nnngh...shit!" That wasn't me! Sorry... * Doyle glance at Mandy for a moment. "Good. And something wrong?" Yes. Something just got a whole lot more difficult... Oh? (Oh->Something) Let's just focus on getting the Tear back. I assume we should take my body as well, just in case we... * Kahlya doesn't sound like she wants to finish the sentence. What's Tear? Something...very important to me. Also something we've got to get to before someone else finds it. Should I call the Bishop to get a crew dredging the river? No need...once I get to the river... * Kahlya closes her eyes and tries to get a feel of where she should go (Zen Direction). (Poweruage roll.) (...it gives me low ones on the ones I don't NEED low ones on, then gives me high ones on the ones I do.) [Kahyla definately thinks she'll be able to find her body this way.] [She also could point the way from here if she so desired.] * Kahlya nods and follows her instinct to point. "That way." Well, that simplifies things. ::He looks where Kahyla is pointing:: That's where I'm headed. When we get closer to the river you can update me. * Kahlya nods. ~So, do you know his phone number?~ * Kahlya tries to think if he ever gave it. Since she didn't need it much... (Mind (memory) roll.) (No bonus? :P) (Nope. I have trouble remembering numbers that I use sometimes. ;P) (Let alone ones I don't care about and I might have heard once or twice. ;P) [Kahyla doens't know it.] (Well, remember that it's linked to the difficulty of the campaign and that she actually has a mind score comparable to her abilities) (i.e. She's just above average like she should be ;P) * Kahlya sighs. ~No...phonebook? Information?~ ~You can call information.~ * Mandy think of the local equivalent of 411. ~Course Doyle will hear.~ ~I thought about that...~ ~...wait. How did you know I was worried about that?~ ~Because if you've been refering to him in really vague ways all morning. It's like when my parents take me somewhere that's supposed to be a surprise.~ ~I guess... ~I'll do my best to keep quiet...you do your best to keep a secret if anything slips out.~ ~You have a phone?~ (And she's in the back seat for the record.) ~In my backpack.~ * Kahlya searches the pack for the phone, keeping one eye on Doyle to see if he's paying attention. [Doyle is checking back using the mirrors every few minutes.] I need to call a friend...hold on... * Kahlya starts a-dialing info. * Kahlya turns on the phone, and notice a good number of messages. * Info line gives her a range of options. For calling an individual hit 1. * Kahlya hits 1. Last name? * Doyle had nodded at Kahyla's comment and is now just driving. * Kahlya covers one end of the receiver and whispers in. "Phillips" (Give me a luck roll, modified by performance.) (Fast-talk?) (Sure) (Make by 3) I heard Phillips. If that is correct, say yes. [And since Kahlya made the first roll I'll give her the rest. She get the number without raising her voice.] * Kahlya nods and gets connected to the number. She waits for a response. Hello? * Kahlya takes in a deep breath and tries a calm tone, which works for the first three words but fails as she starts shouting. "Excuse me but...HOW THE HELL COULD YOU DO THAT TO ME, MASTER?!?" * Kahlya huffs. And huffs. Boy, she's angry. You're alive?! Yes, I'm a-- * Doyle raises an eyebrow at thi exchange. * Kahlya notices she's still being loud and probably looked at by Father Doyle. She checks him in the mirror for a moment and then cups the receiver and goes on in her quiet tone again. "Yes, I'm alive. Of sorts. I don't know. So this is how you thank me, huh? By chucking my body in the river?" But you were dead! I tried CPR, I tried magic, nothing worked! * Kahlya hisses out but manages to keep her voice low this time. "Did you try getting the damned bullet out?" "And...and...you just tossed me! Like a rag doll! I..." * Kahlya whispers harshly. "After all this is over, I want out of the contract. But that's not important right now..." The spell did that. And yes! If they found your body in my apartment I'm in jail for life! (apartment->house) * Kahlya puts her hand on her hip. Her gestures are just coming natural as she starts talking to Terence. "Yes, but now I'm just rotting away down there. And a river? You know what the Tear does. Don't you think they'd be a bit suspicious if it went off and half the river's frozen over for no reason?" * Mandy sit and watchs (sits in her head at least) (Hee) I was panicked! I thought I'd brought you back safely, but I lost you in the transfer. And you know SAB is going to come looking. It's not like I could bury you in my backyard or in a crawlspace or something. * Kahlya frowns at that and turns her head more away from Father Doyle. "Did they find anything yet..?" No. I called in an old teacher. He's helped me cover my tracks. Okay...good...I need your help then Okay.. what can I do? I need you to summon someone who can make me a new body... Okay... I'll try, I'll contact your dimension. But what do we do about Saki? Has there been any word on her yet? * Kahlya also makes a "throat cutting" sound into the receiver. Want me to switch to telepathy? * Kahlya blinks. "Can you? I couldn't get throu..." I can. ::He hold the phone back for a moment and you can hear an older male voice in the background. But Kahlya's superior senses only apply to mystical type roles in Mandy's body.] Although if I restart it they can trace it from your body. "Trace what?" Our connection. "From which body?" The one in the river. Until you get a new one to connect to your body I also need to connect to it. "Are they looking for my body? Why?" I don't know. I'm just saying if we restart it we need to make extra sure they don't find it. * Kahlya rubs her head. "Look. There's trouble enough if they find it already. Because if they get their hands on the Frozen Tear, I'm personally going to r-- ri--" She blinks. "I can't even say it?" She pouts. ~Say what?~ Say what? (Stereo) ....if I can't say it, how do you expect me to say it? Point. Look, I don't know what happened. I think she's a prisoner. But professor says we need to pick a side. Go to SAB, make sure she doesn't escape after the 'rescue,' or be ready to get out of England once she talks. * Mandy is thinking very curious thoughts right now. Wha...but it's the other ones who...stop that! [The final is addressed at Mandy, but probably sounds weird out of context.] Are you alright? Stop what? * Kahlya covers the mouthpiece. "Fine." She uncovers it and talks back to the phone. "Not you. Errr...sorry..." Right. So which way? * Kahlya suddenly sounds a little solemn. "That's up to you, isn't it?" Look, I fucked up. You've dealt with these people. What do you think? I....honestly don't know. I wasn't expecting to be in this situation... And...it's different now. Right.. I don't know. She seems damned impossible to kill. But she's also not forgiving at all. ::He holds the phone away for a second and there's the man's voice in the background. * Mandy sulks quietly in the back of Kahlya's head. I doubt she's impossible to...hold on... * Kahlya covers up the receiver. ~What's wrong?~ ~What's going on?~ * Kahlya hesitates for a second. ~With...?~ * Mandy thinks for a moment. ~No, I'll stay quiet for now. We can talk later.~ ~You're sure...~ ~I'm sure.~ ~Okay...~ * Kahlya turns back to the phone. "Is there a place I could find you? If they catch me beforehand, it'll make it easier....you....well, just worry about contacting. I'll...think about the rest...~ (~ = ") Prof knows a spell that will let you find me. But which way do we go? Our leverage won't last long. * Kahlya gets a little angry but manages to keep her voice down. "I don't KNOW, okay? Whatever it is, you're in over your head. If I went full powered, I could probably take her out but I don't want to have to do that. Besides, that'll make it even more suspicious...plus that was never the intent in the first place. It's why we got into this whole mess." * Kahlya grins slightly though, and it's not a pleasant one. "But I've got an out...how about you?" Alright. I'll cover my own ass and see what I can do about the body. Just point the way. Alright. I'm ratting. * Kahlya blinks. "...wait. Ratting what?" We sell out the possessors and devil guy. I've got an in with the Parliament. We help them find Saki they protect both of us. From Sak--wait, and how are you going to explain how you know about all this? I don't know. Claim we were flushing out those possessors. Undercover job. I'll come up with something. * Kahlya lets out a big deep breath and sounds suddenly relieved. "Thank you.." We'll be sure not to tell them about your new body. ::You can hear he's grinning:: ...don't get too carried away with that... But contact me when you need to.. Man you sound just like Hurst. ::there's a thump sound from the other side of the phone:: Right, sorry, good advice. Will do. I'm glad you made it. Bye. * Kahlya gets off the phone and mumbles. "Pervert." Sounds like you don't like your old organization much. What? No! No? * Kahlya does hang her head a little though. "I've just...found some new things out lately...I'd like to pursue them. I'm so confused as to my place here.." * Doyle's voice is fairly sympathetic. "Your death not the only bad news?" I don't know if it's bad news or not. That's what's so confusing. * Doyle turns at a light. "Sounds like you have a chance to evaluate your choices and see if they're good ones." * Kahlya stares forward blankly. "Maybe..." ~So what was he to you?~ * Kahlya closes her eyes. ~I suppose you have a right to know...and I'm just...tired now...~ ~He summoned me.~ [And I think that's a good place to break. We'll let Kahlya catch a nap.]
