[Date: July 22 Time 0030 GMT] [Weather: Bloody beautiful] [You're in the command center of a British frigate in the Caribbean. Not so many hours ago you were contacted (as necessary) put on a plane, and brought here] (Gory weather! Oh wait, that's not what you meant) [Currently the commander of the backup assault team, the captain of the ship, and Dame Eckerd (Mi-5) are also in the bridge] [You were given the briefing packets about a half hour ago, and were told to gather at this time for any more questions] [Session start] [Various officers talk amongst themselves. Oh and the briefing is here: http://titan.zort.net/~gsanders/logs/sab05briefing.html for any that didn't review or need to refresh memories] Do we still know nothing about "Mastermind"? * Ari leans against a wall, looking over her briefing packet. For those of you who remember her from the last mission, she's wearing exactly the same outfit: gray T-shirt, dark blue windbreaker, faded jeans, sneakers. Still nothing extraordinary to look at. She seems to be concentrating more on her briefing packet than paying attention to any of the people present. * Eckerd "Not really. We have our people investigating the dummy company behind the hotel, but no results yet. He or she covered their tracks well." [Oh, and Jonathon hasn't arrived yet, although you did take the same plane in] [Same case with Jason] * Jason is now known as IdleJason * Zegon is now known as Zegone [Time passes 0035 hours GMT. Oh, and it's dark outside, as it is evening local time] * Ari looks up at Dame Eckerd. "Have you any idea as to how their communications system might operate?" * Jonathon walks in, fashionably late as usual, leaning his cheek against his shoulder, cell phone inbetween and thumbing through the briefing packet on his way in. He doesn't have a smile on his face, wonder of wonders, but as soon as he hangs up the phone, that immediately changes. He squint-eyed smiles at Ari and Marcus and flicks his fingers up in greeting. "Cheerio." * Ari nods to Jonathon. "Good evening." * Jonathon flips up his phone and it disappears into a pocket as he goes to take a seat. "My my, Miss Ari. Pleasure to see you again. I presume you shall be most useful in this mission." * Eckerd gives Jonathon a curt nod and then looks over at Ari. "They've taken some precautions, their internal communications seem to use low level encryption. External high level." "We still haven't figured out the nature of the unusual transmissions agent Preston picked up, but we're seeing them too." How exactly are they unusual? * Ari looks over at Jonathon. "SAB is not in the habit of contacting people who would not be of use on a mission." She then turns back to Dame Eckard. "I'd imagine you'll be wanting me to investigate the nature of these transmissions, then?" * Eckard "They seem to be more typically associated with particle physics research than anything else. And certainly Ari, anything you find out will be of great use." "Although, this is not primarily an investigative mission. So use your judgment in exploring their systems." they're doing particle physics in a volcano? * Ari nods. "I shall." * Assault force commander "Oh, and Dame Eckerd informs me that your group does not quite have the full array of Assault equipment that SAB forces sometimes do. As a result, I'm willing to give you additional equipment for this mission as necessary, to be returned on completion of course." * Eckard to Marcus "We don't know. We presume it has something to do with why they built a secret facility in the first place." [The equipment made available is basically anything on the 75 weapons page that's reasonable, and standard ammo alternatives. No special supernatural stuff] [Tactical body armour, gasmasks, BCN suits, that sort of thing are also available] [Remember you have to carry this stuff, and most of the weapons you won't know how to use.] * Ari shakes her head. "I don't think it would be of much use to me." * Eckerd nods. * Jonathon hmms. "How difficult is the body armor to move in? I would like a gas mask though. I've heard they've a stockpile of some bloody nasty stuff." [Time: 0045 hours] * Commander "The light armour will be a bit of a hastle, the heavy a greater one." * Zegone is now known as Zegon * Jonathon smiles a bit nervously. "Well, I do prefer mobility. Any sort of torches to cut through metal if necessary?" * Eckerd "He'll be along shortly I hope." (Heh. The torch is a "he." ^_~) (The torch is eating dinner. :P) * Jonathon smiles brightly. "Ah. Jason shall be joining us then. Smashing." [Time: 0050 gmt] * Ari ponders. "On further consideration, though, I'd perhaps be well off to take a gas mask, although I might need to leave it behind if I have to go certain places." I'd advise most people to get gas masks. And be wary of cameras. Don't touch them. Though with Falcon's techniques, that may be a non-factor. I'll go for the gas mask as well. * Commander nods and provides the lot of you with one. It also protects against eye irritation because it's one of the larger balkier sort. [Bit smaller than your modern gas mask, but still needs to cover the face. Doesn't restrict perphiral vision much] * IdleJason is now known as Jason * Ari takes it and looks it over. I think I'll take the light armor, as well. * Jonathon takes it and smiles thankfully. "I may regret it, but I shall forgo the armor at this time." [Time: 0055, All equipment is handed out] I doubt you'll regret it. Either you'll be alive, and you didn't need it; or you'll be dead, and won't be in a condition to regret it. * Jonathon smiles. "Well, charming attitude. Of course there's the possibility that I be alive but so horrendously crippled that no payment is enough, but bloody good show for effort." * Marcus also takes a LAW, and also a heavy pistol * Jex has joined #sab2020 * Jason comes walking along right about now. Sure, you could consider him impossibly late, but he doesn't seem to care as he takes a long drag of the cigarette. "Good. Not missin' the fun." * Ari nods to Jason. "Greetings." ( It's not *my* fault. My player just refused to starve. Oh, shut up.) Ah. Jason. We were just talking about our human torch. Well, presumed human. * Eckerd "So happy you could join us Mr. Ashton." * Jonathon goes over to shake Jason's hand and smirks. "I'm sure you'll give me some excellent footage this time, eh what?" I don't suppose there's any gadgets here that might conceal IR emissions or have RADAR cloaking or anything? [Time: 0058] *Eckerd: "Any last questions, equipment requests Jason?" * Jason lets out a breath of smoke and shakes Jon's hand firmly. "Maybe. I'm in the mood." Yeah, probably should get one of those gas masks. And how flammable is that stuff? * Commander "Depends on the gas really." [Time: 0059. Jason gets a gas mask] * Jason takes it and, wonder of wonders, figures out how to use it! Imagine that. [Jason is a frigging genius ^_~] * Ari tucks the gas mask under her arm. "I suppose I'm as prepared as I can be." (You know it.) * Jonathon flips out his pistol, snaps out the ammo cartridge and slaps in a yellow-dotted AP clip, smiling at the group. "I believe we're ready." [One of the officers then looks at the group. "We've got a transmission, audio and visual."] * Ari looks towards the monitor. * Eckard nods. "Put them on." (Feel free to react as I type out description) * Jonathon flicks his eyes towards the monitor and opens them slightly more, smirking. [In the background there's a very spiffy state of the art control room with a great number of people in camoflage uniforms working. Also some heavy armed guards wearing body armour] [In the foreground you see a man in his mid twenties with a shaved head and a recently tailored leisure suit in a cheery shade of orange.] * Jason grins viciously, turning his attention to the monitor. [There's a guy at a computer next to him wearing a hawaian shirt and a five year old kid next to him, you can also see a mildly attractive woman on a screen behind him] [All in their mid twenties] (Except for the kid? ;P) (Frigging genius I tell you. :P) (I know! ^^) [Orange suit] Good evening Great Britian, thanks for tuning in. * Ari keeps her expression neutral. She seems more intent on the equipment in the control room than the people. [Oh, and there's a curtain in the middle of the control room] [You don't see either of the supernaturals mentioned in the briefing packet] * Ari blinks once, and her eyes flash yellow briefly. * Eckerd "Greetings. I'm here to offer you sentencing considering in exchange for return of our agents." * Jonathon peeks at Ari and smiles, whispering. "I presume I should ask before taking a picture when you do that." * Suit "How generous of you, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to take up that offer." * Ari whispers back, "Yes. It's important that I maintain concentration." * Suit "However, I would be quite willing to return your agents in exchange for the British government taking no further interest in this isle. I'm even willing to pay fair market value for it." [The five year old kid tugs as the suit. The man in the suit ducks down and has something whispered in his ear.] "You will of course have to make an announcement that you will not further involve yourselves with the island, on an international broadcast." * Eckerd rolls her eyes. [The kid tugs at the suit again, and he recieves another message.] * Jason watches the kid. Huh. "Oh, and not MSNBC. I want this to be widely watched." * Eckerd "You don't seem to understand the position you are in." * Jonathon keeps his eyes on the broadcast. "Curious..." * Suit. "Oh, but I do. We've spread radioactive materials in thin lead cases throughout the island, so unless you wish this portion of the Caribbean to experience something a great deal nastier then acid rain, I'd advice against carpet bombing." [A technician on your ship reports that while that was said, they were able to pick up several traces of the radiation, which was quickly hidden.] * Jason idly snuffs out his cigarette. * Eckerd "Our ground troops are more than capable of handling terrorist threats." * Suit "Ah, but as the experience of Agent Lord has doubtless informed you, your ground troops will find an assault, how shall I say, uneconomical." * Eckard "What proof do we have that he's still alive." * Suit jauntily strolls back and pulls away the curtain. Agent Lord is strapped to a table in a set of prisoner coveralls. [Lord] You're wasting your time, the British Government won't negotiate for the life of one of it's agents, and I'll never talk. * Jonathon whispers under his breath. "No, I don't expect you to talk, Mister Lord. I expect you to DIE..." [Suit] Then you'll be wasting your life. *He looks back at Eckerd* [Eckerd] He's right, we don't negotiate for our agents, but we do avenge them. * Ari looks over at Jonathon and actually smiles a little. * Jonathon smiles charmingly back. [Suit] Right then, we're wasting time. Obviously an assault in inevitable, but I suppose I'll keep a hostage alive as yet one more incentive for you to not break out the big bombs or run crying to the Americans. [Eckerd scowls] [Suit] However, I am interested to know what the make up of this force will be. Either you or Mr. Lord will tell me, or he will die. [Eckerd] You're bluffing, you need him alive or you'd have killed him already. [Suit walks over to Lord] Ah, but our dear agent is not entirely filled with bravado, he's resisted interrogation quite well. Haven't you. * Jonathon backs out of sight of the monitor and adjusts his camera, giving a glance at Eckerd. [Lord spits in his face, Suit calmly wipes it off] [Suit] Predictable really. So, will you give Agent Lord a chance to speak, or will you sign his death warrant. [Eckerd cuts the audio transmission and glances over to the group "He could compromise some of all of your abilities, this is your operation, what's your call?" (Should we know who Agent Lord is?) What abilities? I'm just a mild mannered reporter. Speaking of which, can I take a shot of the monitor? (Guy who pissed his pants during the UFO catcher. ^^;) (Oh, him.) * Eckerd "Certainly, just save the pretense. As for the rest of you?" Short of an EMP, I should be fine. [Suit calmly waits with one of his subordinates pointing a gun to Agent Lord's head.] * Jonathon takes a snap of the situation on the other end, using as little flash as possible and standing out of the way of the monitor. Snap. While I would certainly prefer not to have them aware of our abilities, I'd rather avoid the needless death of an agent if possible. Don't care, really. Squirt guns can't stop me. [Suit casually turns over to chat with the woman on the monitor in his control room. Lord squirms] [Eckerd "Right" She then turns back to the monitor and turns the monitor on. "Do what you have to Agent Lord. It won't make a difference." [Lord] Won't be necessary ma'am, I'm willing to face is diabolical death traps guaranteeing a slow and painful death. [Suit] Actually, I'd just shot you in the head. Bullet isn't too good for any of my enemies. [Lord] Bloody hell. [Suit] And, we've sent all your gadgets for inspection off site, I do apologize for the cavity search, but one must be sure in these matters. [Eckerd] Enough. ::She cuts off the transmission:: Alright, how do you want to go in? Well, they already know we're coming. Just not where from. Whatever the safest or least detectable route and method would be. That's as close to the agents as possible. Especially if they're under threat. * Commander nods. "The known entrances are via the hotel or the sea cave. Both are likely well guarded at the moment." * Eckerd "We don't have high hopes for stealth, Agent Lord is a fool, but he knows his job." Then pick the less guarded one. * Ari frowns. "I'm afraid I'd be little good in a direct assault. My talents lie more in dealing with computers and electronics." On the other hand, if I can get into their security systems, so much the better. As are mine. I'm sure Mister Ashton would be more than happy on the front lines. But turning off the cameras is as good as them spotting you. * Eckerd. "We expect once you're past the entrance, you'll be able to quickly access a terminal." though with a flair of stealth. I just have my doubts of avoiding detection, given the dossier of our adversaries. Just turning off a camera? You're not giving me very much credit. * Commander "And we are fairly sure the boat entrance has less static defenses." Very well. Anyone else want to get their boots damp? Indeed. And the shutters, madam? * Eckerd "Shutters?" Lock down metal doors. Not too fond of water, but I'll do it if I have to. Just wanna get this show on the road. * Jonathon smiles sheepishly. "I took the time to do some research myself. I hope it's not a problem." * Jonathon claps his hands together. "If we are ready?" * Eckerd. "We'd appreciate you're sharing more information up front, it's good that you're informed. You can take along a blow torch if you don't think Jason can handle it." Well, we may want to save his flames for more important purposes. [Commander] Alright, you want scuba equipment, a mini sub, or an armour speed boat to get in? They may well be able to detect the minisub." [You gain +1 blow torch] (Woot, +1 Blow Torch of Smiting!) Unless you have something to keep my other equipment dry, I think the boat is preferred. (Sure it's not a +1 Blow Torch of Flambe? ;-) (Maybe it's an uber +1 Blow Torch of Flambe and Smiting.) (+5 Vorpal Blow Torch of Flambe, Smiting, and Smouldering.) [Commander, we can give you a waterproof bag, but boat's probably best. You have a pilot or need us to provide one?] [Oh, and you guys get conventional radio headsets. Small, light weight, and don't interfere with anything you're trying to do.] * Ari takes the radio headset and puts it on, then tucks the gas mask back under her arm. * Jason has one and, yes, puts it on. * Marcus puts the radio on as well. He'll put the gas mask on later when we get there. * Jonathon puts his own on and smiles. "If we could get a pilot, I think that would be best." * Commander nods. [A military man in a scuba suit pilots a small, enclosed, and heavily armoured watercarft.] [He goes straight in and not finding an easy let off point before the main docks, just goes straight for them. Oddly enough the dock area is empty.] [He pulls in at a fairly easy spot to let you off. Resume] * Ari climbs off the boat and immediately begins looking around. * Jonathon combs his fingers through his hair and looks around, hoping out of the boat, duffle in tow. He opens his eyes slightly before squinting and smiling nervously. "Not good. I'd expect a welcome party." * Jason finishes his impatient wait and snuffs out yet another cigarette before removing his shades. Don't need them getting in the way. He steps off the boat. "Yeah, 's too bad." [It's a medium sized undergound lit with florescent lighting. There's a bit of hill so you can't see the main entrance.] Well then, shall we proceed? [Once you're all out the speed boat pulls away a bit.] * Marcus turns invisible, and insubstantial I am prepared. * Jonathon edges towards the main entrance, opening his eyes and ears a little more and keeping them peeled. * Jason glares in Marcus' direction. Seems he hasn't quite forgotten that he hates the guy. "More than ready." And he heads after Jon. [sight checks. HA counts] [You see the the over the hill there's two turrets and a large shut steel door. You see it before it sees you. Also a security camera by the door] * Jonathon gestures and stops, taking out his directional mike and pointing it towards the entrance. [He doesn't hear anything from the door.] * Jason grins. * Jonathon puts it back and whispers. "Alright. My informant told me the cameras are rigged. Security will come rushing if you take them out." * Ari whispers back. "So what are we to do about them, then?" Not be spotted? At least not yet. whispers, "We don't let them see us." Aww, shit. I'm no good at that. Easy for you to say. We could also distract the camera perhaps. Put up a false image. Can either of you do that without tripping alarms? I could certainly try. It's possible to do, I suppose. Let me see here... * Ari stares in the direction of the camera, a look of concentration on her face. Her eyes flicker from green to yellow several times, then she blinks. "It's done." [Camera seems still to be functioning normally to all outward appearances] * Jonathon smiles and takes out his gun. "Bloody good show. We move." He moves towards the door, keeping sight on the turrets just in case. [Turrets don't fire. But they're by the door, so eventually you have to get in sight of them] * Jonathon pulls some night vision goggles from his pack and slips them on, checking to see if they're manned or automated. [Automated] * Ari cautiously follows behind Jonathon. (And there is a fair amount of ambient light from the florescent lights, but night vision mean perfect vision) [So, approaching the door?] * Jonathon gestures to the turrets. "Are they connected to the cameras, do you know? If they have a seperate targetting system..." I'll try and find out. [Does have a seperate redundant targetting but Ari turns it off.] * Ari goes through the odd eye-flicker thing again, then nods. "Taken care of." Jolly good. * Jonathon moves towards the door and speaks to Marcus. "See what you note on the other side of the door." * Marcus sticks his head through the door (What's the door made of?) (Steel) * Marcus doesn't stick his head through the door * Jason folds his arms and scowls. "If they're gonna find us anyway... nah, I'll stop there." Door's too solid. Well then, enough of cautionary measures. Jason... If you'd do the honors? * Jonathon stands out of the way * Ari keeps well back. * Marcus steps back * Jason grins and walks confidently forward, a bright-hot ball of fire forming in his hand. He concentrates and it narrows, becoming hotter, then shoots towards the door with a flick of his wrist. It starts moving of its own accord, burning through the thing. * Jonathon takes out his camera just in time for a shot. [The mission impossible theme sounds, in the GMs head.] (I have Tribes going in my head...) * Jason doesn't hear the theme, since he's not in the GM's head. The fire burns a comfortable enough passageway through the door before winking out, and he takes a look through. [He sees a rather bland hallway. Flourescent lighting. No protrusions on the edges for cover. And in the distance a security patrol walking past a junction. They haven't noticed you. [There's a terminal just inside the door.] * Jason steps out of the way and looks at Ari. "Your turn. Can't hog all the fun." (How big of a patrol?) [There is also a camera overtop of it. Which would be an electonics (security) roll to turn off] * Ari actually smirks a little. "How kind of you to share." (Do I notice this camera?) [Looks like three grunts, two with submachine guns, one with a rifle. And an officer with a heavy assault rifle] * Ari takes care of the camera first. [Camera is secured] * Jason grins. "Yeah, I'm a gentleman and all." He spots the guards and his eyes light up, fairly literally. [Oh, and one other strange thing. You notice big wall size mirrors at the corner at the far end of this hallway. It's actually kind of confusing, because it's hard to tell where a hallway turns and where a mirror imag eis] * Jonathon starts to put the silencer on his pistol and smiles at Jason. "Always a pleasure to work with gentlemen." Well, then, let's see what they have. * Ari heads over to the terminal. * Marcus walks around the room to determine which are walls and which are mirrors * Jason snickers. [The console offers only basical controls for the door. You'd have to be a real genius hacker to get through to the main systems from it. +4 penalty computer (security)] See if you can find the best path to our agents. (Someone call for a genius hacker? ^_^) Let me give it a try [Marcus looks and gives some unnecessary advice as Ari cracks the terminal] [She finds the prison, but it looks like there's going to be at least one security patrol encountered on the way there] [Given the patrol routes, length of the hallways, and design of the facility, no real way around it] (Can I just assume I'm relaying this info to the group?) (Yep) (No need to have both of us typing it out. ;p) (Yeah.) * Jason doesn't seem disappointed at this news. Quite the opposite, actually. * Jonathon lets out a slight sigh, but doesn't look disappointed. In fact, he's still smiling. Is that a surprise? "Well then, if it's unavoidable..." (Jonathon == Aaron.) (We already knew this, but it's just further confirmation. ;p) Better give them their money's worth. [Also, another one is coming up the hallway about now according to the terminal. They are scheduled to check out your location. It looks like whoever set up the patrols wanted to make sure all the bases were covered] (Any way we can only encounter the one patrol?) (Military (tactics) roll -4 modifier) (You find a way. If you're fast you could take out this patrol and pull it off) [10 seconds to patrol reaching sight range] * Jonathon nods and readies his pistol, hiding in the shadows. Silencer + shadows hopefully means first shot. * Jason glances at Jon. This'll be fun. (A silencer actually does very little to get you first shot. :P Silencer helps with second shot) [Alright, gimme initiative rolls] (Well, it makes them least likely to know the first shot is coming until someone goes "Arrgh") [And they come into attack range, they haven't noticed you yet but will shortly] [First turn order: Jason, Jonathon, Ari, Marcus] [Jason!] [There's a patrol of four] [Two submachine gunners, one rifleman, and an officer with an assualtrifle] [Sub1, Sub2, Rifle, and Assault for easy reference] * Jason smirks, taking Jon's action as a go-ahead. He steps well out of hiding and away from his own teammates, fire starting at his elbow and spiraling into his palm. He snaps it out, the line of flames striking out towards the closest one to him. [The man yelps and almost manages to get out of the way, but the fire proves top agile of a hunter to be avoided] [He cries in pain as the flames tear through his tactical body armour and keeps burning, he drops to the ground and makes a half hearted roll to put it out.] [Seems damn near dead though] [Jonathon!] [That was Sub1, for the curious] (I was wondering who the lucky winner was gonna be. ^^) * Jonathon raises the gun and a little point appears on the officer's forehead. He lets out a smile just before he pulls the trigger. [Officer bites it, as the bullet shoots through the clear visor in front of his face. The blood splatter is limited by the helmet he's wearing though] [Ari] * Ari looks at the remaining officers. Her eyes narrow, and flicker yellow briefly. [Marcus!] (There's two left?) (Yeah) [Sub2 and rifle] * Marcus shoots at Sub2 [Sub2 leaps out of the way, knocking Rifle back around the corner so that both of them have cover.] (I'm invisible.) (He crit successed. :P) (Well poo on him.) [New initiative Jason, Jonathon, Sub2, Ari, Marcus, Rifle] [Jason!] [The two remaining patrolmen seemed freaked, but still have hold of their gun and are frantically yelling into their headsets.] * Ari allows herself a smirk. Just try calling for backup. [They do in fact try, they don't seem satisfied with the results] * Jason runs forward. Once he has them in view, he snaps the length of fire around and towards the patrolmen, intent on burning into Sub2's side. [Sub2's luck just ran out as the flames blaze through his armour. He falls to his knees and seems to be reaching for something as a last dying gesture.] [Jonathon!] * Jonathon runs out into the corridor intersection and rolls on the floor, pulling up his gun. Squeezing the trigger, he shoots at the wall opposite to the corner. The bullet riccochets off the wall and heads towards the remaining target. (Weee got our gunbunny!) * Jason very doesn't lose his smirk at the sight of that. It'd be disturbing if... okay, so it's disturbing. [Rifle guy gets shot, the armour seems to absorb a good amount of the impact, but he'd have faired a lot better if he saw it coming and got out of the way.] [Sub1 stops his rolling and suddenly fades from existance, leaving a blood splatter behind.] [Sub2 is able to get out a grenade before groaning and putting a hand on his burning side. Then the same thing happens to him.] [Ari] [Officer's body is still there for now.] (Who's left, the rifle guy?) (Yeah) [Oh, forgot something, when the bodies fade, their equipment is also left behind.] * Ari backs down the corridor slightly, attempting to get out of range. There doesn't seem to be much left for her to do at the moment. (Total Defense.) (... Goldeneye!) (Their bodies are fading out?) (Just what I thought of!) [Marcus!] * Marcus shoots at the last guy standing (Oh, what gun are you using marcus?) (That's not gonna hit, unless I get some kind of bonus for not being visible.) (That'd be the heavy pistol) (Oh, right.) [Marcus misses and the rifleman takes off running down the corridor.] [Jason!] (You get a penalty to them defending, not a bonus to hit them in the first place) (And Jonathon is correct) * Jason curses, running after him and lashing out towards his back. "No you don't!" (Jason lashes very well) (What can I say? I'm good.) (Not me, I'm just an ordinary reporter. ) (Jason, about your anger issues...) (Keep them up! ^_~) ( And I'm just an ordinary cop. Shut up already.) (And I am perfectly ordinary. Really. Nothing to see here.) (Anger issues? What anger issues? *blink*) [The whip of fire cuts into the rifleman's side and despite the convient caturizing of the wound, he seems to have lost too many internal organs to live, and he also fades.] [Shortly after that the officer does too] [Ari, give me a computer (scurity roll) and anyone who wants to bother give me a vision roll, HA counts +10 modifier] * Jason watches that, then blinks. "That makes cleanup a hell of a lot easier." The fire vanishes without even a puff of smoke, and he walks back. (Made security.) (Eh, maybe I'll crit succeed?) * Jonathon opens up his eyes sternly to look and then snaps back into the smile. "Yes, I was wondering what we'd do about the bodies." (Hehe ^^) (Did not make vision.) [There still is the equipment there.] [And some nasty blood stains] I noticed something strange about them. [The cleaning staff will not be pleased] (I think he meant those that aren't Ari do the vision rolls ^_^;) (Naw, Ari gets it too.) (Oh. Well, I don't think it hurt anything. ;p) (Ah. Not trying. For reasons you should know Greg. ^_~) * Ari blinks for a second, and her eyes flicker. Hm. Activity on the computer system, though I'm not sure what. Back to what I said a moment ago... I noticed that the group that just attacked us looked... similar somehow. * Jonathon gives Ari a solid look and opens his eyes a little. "Projections, you think?" And when we were hailed by that group earlier, the same held true. Many of the technicians there looked similar. Not identical, but as if they shared a similar genetic structure, akin to organisms that are related to each other. [Oh, next security patrol is gonna be along in five minutes or so. If you hustle it'll be three to get to the prison] * Jonathon pulls up his gun. "Cloning then. We'll worry later. We need to move before we encounter another patrol." He regains his smile. Either is a possibility. (Oh, and as a world note. Were this cloning it'd still be pretty surprising. Even in 2020) But cloning is unlikely, and mass projections would be... troubling. [End part 1]
