[Date: August 4, 2020. Time: 1145 GMT. Weather: Bit cloudy, but still some sun, even London will often have direct sunlight at high noon.] [The place you were suppose to go is a street in a medium density residential area. There's on-street parking and garage available.] [You were told that there'd be two men waiting for you, and this is indeed the case.] [Some people may not have arrived yet though] [Start] * Jonathon leans up against the side of his car, shades still on his face as he takes out a cigarette, slipping it inbetween his lips and taking a long breath. He searches his pockets for a lighter as he glances around, being parked in the garage. He wants to protect his car after all. * Ren walks onto the scene, having just arrived via Public Transportation. His hair, is, of course, disheveled, but there's an interested gleam in his green eyes. Probably related to how itchy his hands look, like they want to draw a gun from wherever he keeps them. [The two guys are Mike Chen (fairly big Asian guy with spikey dyed blond hair) and another male you haven't met yet, black hair a bit below his shoulders, fairly lean and cute.] [They're leaning against a rather beat up looking car that seems like it was made in the 80s. Probably terrible efficiency, but lots of steel and likely a huge engine.] * Mike gives a friendly wave as Ren as he walks up. * Ren returns the wave, nodding silently. * Jonathon looks up at the guys and gives a faint nod, then glances over at Ren, smiling a bit before he looks back at them. "I assume it's supposed to be more than just us two blokes, right?" He pushes off his car and walks forward, slipping his shades off in a smile. I think someone else is showing. Not too sure, though. * Jason comes zooming down the road, just on cue. He brings his bike to a stop near the rest of the group. He looks over at Jon and grins, eyes obscured by his own pair of shades. "Figures you'd be here." * Jonathon looks up and waves at Jason. "Cherrio, old chap. Got a light?" He sticks his cigarette in his mouth and gives him a cheery smile. * Ren grins broadly, like a father proud of his kid. "I've got a new .... toy to test out this mission. If it works right, this mission will be a piece of cake." This really is overkill you know. Wish I had your faith. * Other guy snorts. "Faith is the problem." Overkill? So, there's radio headsets in the garage, and a jammer, that'll make them not work, but will shut down the ambulances communications too. Any questions? Vamps.. highly overrated, the trick is to not buy into their mind control bullshit. * Jason shrugs, snapping his fingers at Jonathon. The end of his cigarette sparks. Mind control? Didn't know there'd be any mental crap going on. ( ... man, Chesire's gonna be useful again. ;_; ) * Jonathon grins at Jason and takes a puff. "Handy stuff, that." He glances at the two and raises an eyebrow. * Ren glances at the Unnamed One briefly. Well, be careful, avoid eyecontact with elders, you should be fine. That's what propogates this problem.. you hype it, and people don't resist enough. Always thought so. * Jonathon smiles. "What about shades then?" * Jason gets a look at Ren. "Oh, the cat guy. Hey." * Ren glances at Jason, shrugs, and goes back to watching the guys by the gas hog. * Mike gestures to the other guy. "Oh, and this is Ron Fellows, exorcist extrodinare." ( Reminds me of a quote, even though I'm horrible with them. "3 gallons to the mile." * Jason nods at him. "Guess you'll be workin' overtime." Doesn't cut it. Just may, you'd feel cooler, could help. * Ren raises an eyebrow at the mention of 'exorcist'. Suddenly his eyes don't seem so ... happy as they were before. * Jonathon chuckles. "Well, figured it was worth a shot. Unless you'd rather me driving with my eyes closed. * Ron grins at Ren's expression of discomfort. "No worries, I've review your files. Got nothing against extra-planars, so long as they don't go around asking people to worship them." He coughs and looks at Mike, who just grins back. .... right. * Jason idly pulls out a cigarette and starts a small flame on his thumb, lighting up. He looks around. * Ren wrenches hhis eyes shut for a moment, then opens them again. So, we've got a seperate assignment, but I should check, any of you particularly trained at resisting telepathy? Or maybe rational. Whatever. * Ren raises a hand. "Not training... just a side effect." * Jason shrugs and lets out some smoke. "Nope." * Mike looks over. "How good?" * Jonathon smiles slightly. "Not with the first. I like to hope I'm the second but some disagree. My co-workers for one for taking these sorts of jobs in the first place." * Ren shrugs. "Don't know how to measure it. Just know that Cheshire has it stronger." * Jason doesn't seem particularly worried, though. He just takes another drag of his cancer stick. That sounds like an idea though...give me some time, maybe I could whip up a brain protection device...It's worth a shot, eh? * Mike takes a couple steps away from the group and hands a folded note to Ren. "Read it, keep it to yourself, and then burn it." * Ren raises his eyebrows momentarily, accepting it. He nods, turns away so his back is to the others, and complies. * Ron leans further back against the car. "You better let me handle some of those weapons in exchange for putting up with all this Mike." * Ren crumples up the note, pulling out a lighter, and starts it burning. Well, you're driving, so only hand weapons, and be careful. Damn, I want a rail gun. No way in hell, how about the auto-stake. If you bring up that toy one more time... * Ren eyes the two, and walks over, pulling out a minigun, and holding it out with both hands. "Got a mount for him?" * Ron's eyes widen. Mike gets an amused expression. * Jason lets out a light snort, then looks at Jon. "Hey. When're things gonna start popping?" * Ren grins a little. "Jesus should be gun enough." * Both men roll their eyes. Probably for different reasons. * Jonathon shrugs slightly and puts his cigarette on the ground, grinding it under his heel. "No telling. I'd have thought we were ready to go. Where's the target, chaps?" You can call for the ambulance via the headsets whenever you're ready. Just remember to turn on jamming before you attack. * Ron nods, puts a hand to his ear for a moment, and says in a more serious expression and nods. "Other team is about as far along." (*Grysar is happy he doesn't have to run this in real time. :P) * Ren sets the minigun down on the hood of the gas hog, and steps back. "Enjoy. I'll be back later for him, but go ahead and borrow it for now." Huh, I do have a use for Jesus. Thanks! First time for everything. * Jason finishes off his cigarette and snubs it out on his palm. * Ron sets about mounting the gun. * Ren turns back to Jason and Jonathon. "When we moving out?" * Jonathon reaches into his jacket and pulls out his trusty gun, checking the clip and slamming it back in the gun, twirling it on his finger. "About now. I assume you're riding shotgun? Or would you prefer to ride with our old pyrefly there? I assure you, he's a much better driver than I." So, if you don't have any religious objections.. I object to religion. Not you, anyways Archbishop of Canterbeuy will be praying for you. With just a few, might help resistance. * Jason checks his bike over. "Yeah, yeah, got bit by a radioactive firefly when I was a kid. Got a radio in that machine of yours, Jon?" ( What's our ride? ) * Mike then goes help Ron mount the gun. He seems to have a much better of idea of what he's doing, gun-wise. (You have a couple choices. Jason and his motorcycle, or Jon and his car. I forget the specifics of Jon's car. ;P) (Or run very fast. :P) ( Jumping+Teleport Fu? =p ) * Jonathon smiles slightly. "Of course. But why do you ask?" * Mike calls out over the minigun. "Oh, and do remember, don't kill the thralls. They'll be the ones who can stand sunlight." (Also can work.) * Jason looks up. "We have to make sure we don't kill something now? Damnit." (:P) Humans? * Mike nods. "They'll probably send them out to take the in the 'victim', so no big deal, just wait til they're clear, then go wild." * Ren shrugs. "Won't kill one by accident, anyways." * Jonathon takes a look at Mike. "Well, that makes things a little complicated. I'm sure we can deal." * Mike then pauses for a second. "Uh, moderately wild. We are still in the city here." So where do we call it to exactly? * Ron grins and pats Mike on the back. "Why you gotta take the fun out of everything." He then drops the grin. "But yeah, thralls are humans under mind control, dumb, but otherwise everyday person. Actually, make that pretty much exactly like the everyday person." Just say over a headset in the garage you're ready. Our people will handle that. * Ren thinks for a moment, then nods. "Yeah, won't kill one by accident." * Ron gets in the drivers seat, now that the gun is safely mounted. Any other questions? * Ren shakes his head. "Spare the poor dumb mindless zombies, relentlesly gun down the undead, check." * Jason grumbles. "Don't kill anyone. Hate this job." He looks at Jon. "Was asking 'cause it's a way to keep in touch if we're chasing something down." Oh...well..I'm afraid I don't have THAT kind of radio. * Mike rides shotgun, he then grins over at Ren. "Thralls, not zombies. Gotta mow down poor dumb mindless zombies, best part of the job. Oh, and there's radio headsets in the garage you can use, when the jammer isn't active." * Jonathon smiles nervously. "It's more of a joy riding car I'm afraid. Though I believe this is why we got the radios." Figures. ( ... might get a chance to use Bob. ) * Jonathon shrugs slightly. "I can't be prepared for everything, no matter what some people may believe." He smiles again. Let's just get on with it. You goin' with anyone, Cat? Shotgun. I don't care who with. Very well. Mind, you may need some weapons on your lap if you ride with me. I don't want to have to reach in the back seat for them. * Ren shrugs. "No problem." The names Ren, by the way. * Jonathon nods. "Indeed. I remember the hair." He smiles. "But don't think we were officially introduced. Jonathon Marlyne." * Ren steps forward, offering a hand. "Ren Ran." Well then, come on if you're coming. Ready, Jason? * Jonathon puts his hands in his pocket and walks past Ren to unlock his car. * Jason flicks his shades up to get a better look at Ren. His red eyes flash, and then they're back on his nose. "Jason Ashton." He shakes Ren's hand. "And I've been ready since I got here." * Ron gets driving off. (Quick note about chase rules) (Mechanics system I'll be using for chase is one ND suggested.) (I'll be keeping track of how many car lengths you are behind you're quarry. They'll be a standard driving check made each round of combat.) (If everyone makes it, no change, but if someone doesn't, then they fall back a unit.) (But, each turn, you'll have the option of taking raises, essentially making your driving roll harder to close the gap a little, but with possible bad consequences if you screw it up. And tougher roll to begin with) (Penalty for a break is +1 initially, may get harder) (Faster cars will often have advantages in these breaks, but it may come down to braking or just be driving skill.) (Oh, I used breaks at some points. Should have changed those all to raises) * Ren nods. "I'm itching to get on with this, too." * Jason turns the ignition. "Then get in the damn car." (And nitro?) * Ren turns, and gets in. (Each 20 mph faster gives you a -1 bonus when speed is the determining factor) (it will typically be) (WinAmp: Radar Love.) [The radio jammer and headsets still sit on the floor of the garage (I think, unless I didn't notice someone grab it)] * Jonathon climbs in his car. There's a multi-shot crossbow full of bolts, two clips, one with a light blue dot on them, one with a red dot) and a bag full of what look like white balls. * Ren glances in the back, for these... 'weapons' Jonathon mentioned. (That's actually an upcoming theme, but not this game. :P) (The powers of WinAmp are such that even Ron would have a hard time denying them. ;p) * Jason grabs an earpiece from the back of his bike and puts it on. He fiddles with his radio a bit. What's blue, what's red, and what are the balls? * Jonathon smiles as he slips on the headset. "Things I thought would be useful for this mission. Don't worry about it. Think I need a silencer though?" I doubt a high speed chase with gunfire will attract much more attention than a high speed chase with silencers. * Ren leans back, getting comfortable. I concede to that point. * Jonathon shrugs and sets his weapon on the dash. It looks like it's got a pretty nice custom grip and a top-mount sight. * Jason speaks through the radio. "Testing." Got a plan better than mine? Mine's to shoot out their tires with Charene once we get close enough. If that dosen't work, try something bigger. * Jonathon smiles and speaks into the headset. "Un, deux, trois....sorry, but one two three sounds too cliche." 'ey. Lemme know when you blokes are ready to roll. Tires seem like the most logical target. I'm prepared. Can't speak for my colleague though, but I assume he is as well. * Ren picks up his set from the passengers dashboard, and drawls into it, with a thick southern accent, not bothering to put it on, "Rock and roll." Righto, remember to turn on the jammer 'fore spring the trap. Calling ambulance now. They've been planning this for a while, and some of them are wearing body armor. They might have thought to armor the tires. * Jonathon glances at Ren and smiles a bit. "From the States?" * Ren nods. "Yeah." [Hearing checks, HA counts] * Jonathon nods and sets back to the wheel. "Reach into the glove compartment. There should be a couple of clips with a black dot. AP bullets if you think you need them. ( Yup. ) (I hear!) * Ren pops it open, and glances. "Well, better than my backup plan." (... Okay, I do, too! Somehow. :P) [There's a distant sound of sirens] * Jason grins. (Oh, Jason, remind me, are you parked on the street or in garage?) (Street. Yay!) (Garage means more concealed, but you'll start a few car lengths back should pursuit begin.) (Start a few car lengths back...bah. That's what nitro is for!) * Ren rolls down his window, and gets a sniper rifle out from the inside of his coat. (The AP clip is for a pistol, I'm guessing? ) [Sirens are now clearly audible] * Jonathon rolls down the window and lays his arm on the side of the frame, starting up his car. (Yep) * Ren lowers the sniper rifle out of obvious sight, and waits. * Jason sighs and idly lights up again. He has no patience. [You can see an ambulance down the street now, coming in at fairly high speed, lights on. It looks slightly bulkier than your average ambulance, but not excessively so.] Looks armored to me. * Jason stays pulled over! Good citizen Jason. Yes, but we never planned on aiming for the body of it, did we? [Ambulance is slowing down as it approaches the building opposite the garage.] (That's where the trap was set, I hope?) (Correct) (Dicey likes 8s) ( Yup. ) [Jonathon and Ren notice that the drive is wearing a transparent poncho of some sort. Looks familar to Jonathon. You can't tell if he's got body armour. [Ambulance stops in front of the building and back doors open.] What's that he's wearing? Recognize it? * Ren leans forward, and palms the AP clip. A pistol appears a moment later that it gets inserted to. * Jonathon looks at it and his lips get as close to a frown as he can manage. "PK gear. It seems to be popular among the security force. " * Guy in front picks up a radio receivers and talks into it as two guys in EMT garb, no ponchos, hop out the back. * Jason peers. "Those're the thralls?" * Guys take a gurney out of the back of the ambulance. I guess we can try...when do we move? * Ren looks the van over. "Think it'd work better if we shot out their mirrors first?" They'd get suspicious if we did that. But if you want to aim for the mirrors when we give chase, go ahead. [Oh, and Jason can also see the ponchos at this point, he's actually pretty close, so he can also see they include a clear facial covering within the hood. In the off chance that they don't have guys in the back who don't need mirrors to figure out where we are. * Ren nods. "Yeah, once the action starts." [EMT guys get a few meters away from the ambulance towards the door.] * Jonathon hmms. "Taking out the mirrors might make them more dangerous though...more anxious as well as more likely to take the chance of causing an accident.." * Jason watches and stubs out his second cig. "Any time now." (Vision checks, ha counts) (Jason can substitute hearing if he wants) ( barely missed. ) * Jonathon talks into the radio. "Do we need a go ahead signal from you first? All this waiting is probably killing our poor firefly." (...Dicey REALLY likes 8s @_@) Nope, just turn on the jammer and go whenever you like. (It really doesn't matter. I don't get bonuses. ;P) [Jonathon notices that the guy in front talking into the receiver seems to be getting a bit anxious.] [Meanwhile gurney and two EMTs are almost to the door.] * Jonathon calls out to Jason on the sets. "You see that? They're a bit nervous.. they might know something's up." Maybe word of the other team reached them. ( Hey, does Jons car have a sunroof? ) * Jonathon nods then speaks into the set again. "Just give the signal that you're ready to roll and we'll flick on the jammer." (Nope) [Suddenly the one of the EMTs sprints back to the ambulance. It'll take him a round to get there or so.] Now, damnit! * Jonathon flicks the jammer on and waits until he hears the nice roar of Jonathon's bike before he starts off. [At that outburst the other one starts jogging back.] (Let's roll init at this point. * Ren brings up the sniper rifle, training it on the guy, but not firing yet. (assuming Jonathon had the jammer) * Jason obliges, letting out the roar and taking off to intercept the thralls. (It was in the garage. It can be in his car if he wants.) (Aigh, init. One sec...) (This is vehicle init?) (Yeah) ( Oh. ) ('cept for Ren) "Maybe you should consider sacrificing some barnyard animals?" (Who doesn't have a vehicle) (Hehe. ^^) (Heh. That's actually a *good* time to roll high.) ( .... HAH. ) (Heh heh, Good show Jason. Right one to go 16 on) (*bow*) (Very nice ^^) ( I rolled just one short of max, myself. Wai wai Dicey? ) [Jason, Vamp1, Jonathon, Ren more vamps, Thralls] [Jason!] [Oh, and ambulance never stopped running. It is still at the moment though.] * Jason attempts to interpose his bike between the thralls and the ambulance, breaking to a near halt and snapping a line of flames at the back wheels. (Okay, what kind of modifier is that? :P) (That's our Jason. Act first, THEN ask how difficult it is ^_^) (Lesse. Standard driving roll. +2 to the attack roll) (Absolutely.) (Failure on driving roll is low consequence) (+2 for movement penalties?) (Yeah.) (And raises are involved in the drive roll?) (That they are.) [Jason masterfully interposes himself between the thralls and the vehicle as a line of fire scorches the tires. There's a smell of burning rubber, despite the damage the tires don't seem to be going flat.] * Jonathon smiles a bit as he watches that, squinting his eyes nervously. "I had a feeling it wouldn't be so simple." Let them get in the van. We can wait till a better spot to take out the van much easier than stopping them here. [A person quickly jumps out of the ambulance, only briefly visible before the poncho swiftly turns opaque and dark brown. Seeing Jason's position almost faster than the eye can see raises a machine pistol and fires wildly at Jason. He hops back even faster.] [Jonathon] * Ren grins a little. "That is, if you can keep up." [Oh, and as a bit of extra mechanics related description, a good amount of the flame seemed to be thwarted by the protection of the van, but most of it got through.] * Jason somehow doesn't get hit from that. "Fuck, I thought vampires weren't allowed to use guns!" (Obviously, they didn't read those rules. ;p) (Oh, and book penalties for driving firing is +8. I'll let you split that between driving and shooting however you like) ( A-hem. Steady hand. ) (Riding penalties is +4 or +2, depending on difficulty. Since Jason parked, I let him get by with the +2.) (And yup, steady hand helps) (*thumbs up* Steady Hand.) ( ... Hum. dX makes you have to stack the same Techniquery to get the same effect. ) * Jonathon shrugs. "Your call. Of course I can keep up." He watches the vampire who jumped out and sighs, pulling his pistol on the tires, tracking it but not firing just yet (hold until the van starts up.) (Oh, and quick reminder, Jamming is up, so only Jonathon and Ren hear each other) (Unless you shout) [Ren!] * Ren takes aim, and shoots at the passenger-side mirror of the van. Armor those, byatch. [Passenger side mirror is out!] [At this point the driver of the van suddenly disappears and the Van starts moving.] Stay to their passenger side once they get going. I can't get the other mirror from this side. [Jon's held turn!] * Jonathon smiles. "If they get a chance." He fires at the driver's side rear tire and then starts the chase. (This an AP bullet?) (Yeah) (Made Driving...shooting now..) (...) (Oh wait! Should be -4...which is still a no.) [Jonathon gets the car moving, but in his speed, didn't properly line up his shot.] * Jonathon hmmphs. "First time for everything." He keeps both hands on the wheel now, gun in hand as he steers. * Ren doesn’t look up from the sniper rifle. "Don't sweat the shooting. Just keep up with them." [Ambulance is now tearing down the road, thralls are left completely behind. As it speeds off a third vampire kneels down in the back and takes a shot at Jason with a nasty looking pistol. He's way off though.] [Jason's turn] Fine, fine...I'll bloody well wait until we stop them then, shall I? [Currently, Jason is one car length behind, assuming he pursues makes his driving roll. Jonathon starts out three behind.] [+1 difficult to try to make one raise. +2 for each additional raise after that. Failure if you are trying to make a raise is more consequential.] * Jason lets out a faint growl and takes off after the ambulance, tearing down the road as fast as he can. The fire spirals down his arm and pools into his hand, and he makes another swipe at the back tires once he gets a clear shot. (Raises are needed to gain in car lengths?) (Driving check than attack check. Divide the +8 as you prefer) (Yeah) (... You're making me do math. ;_;) (Put the +8 all on your attack roll then.) (Considering I didn't make Jason to be as twinky as possible, that's a near-guaranteed miss. ;P Mmm. +2 first, +6 second. No raises.) (Right, but just to be clear, you're making you do math, don't blame me. ^_~) (Oh, I'll blame you anyway. Made.) (And made.) [Jason drives like a maniac, but a skilled maniac, he keeps up with ambulance and tears into the tires again. Seems like they aren't likely to deflated at all unless totally destroyed, but that point is getting closer.] (That's the way to do it!) [The vampire in back with the machine pistol fires two separate sprays of bullets at Jason, first is a bit off, second comes closer, but neither are hits.] [Oh, and the tires are still burning from before] [Jonathon!] (Oh, there's a vampire in the back? I thought the doors closed. Hmm.) (Oh no, they never closed 'em) ( How populated is the current area? ) (Fairly sparse at this point.) (Still buildings around though) ( Excellent. ) * Jonathon reaches over and flicks up a switch, causing his car to JET forward. He lets out a smile and tries again, keeping to the passenger side but firing for the driver's side rear tire. "Let's try that again, shall we?" (+2 driving, +6 shot, called shot to the tire) (...grr...saving my other DR. :P) (But made driving) (No raise penalty, ,right?) (Nope) (But +2 init and +30 KPH) [Jonathon's car speeds up a bit, but he still doesn't manage to make a shot. Oh, and remember, extra -1 from the MPH on speed rolls.] [Ren. Penalty this roll is +4, as you're rapidly accelerating.] (So that's a -1 to driving skill?) ( Steady Hand. +2. =p ) (Yeah) (...rock on! ^_^) ( there's a vamp in the back of the van? ) (Max speed doesn't really matter here, I'm just counting it towards driving) (There's two. One with a machine pistol, one with a big pistol.) * Ren aims for the foot of the one with the machine pistol. (Called shot to the foot! ... whats the Called Shot penalty, again?) (for the foot? i'll say +4) (Vital area is +8) ( ... breaking even with +'s and -'s, then. @_@ ) ( Hit! ) * Machine pistol vamp lets out what you think is a stream of profanity, but it's a bit too fast to hear. He drops to a knee. His foot seems pretty messed up, but is starting to heal already. * Jonathon lets out a faint blow of breath as he watches Ren's shot fly out. "You DO realize that a vampire probably won't care if you shoot it in the foot, don't you? They're immortal for a reason." Was trying to get it to fall off. Probably wouldn't care about that either, unless the friction caused him to light on fire. He can be immortal all he wants when you run him over. [Other vamp kneels down himself and carefully lines up a shot on Jason. He makes a successful shot this time, Jason needs a dodge roll.] * Ren looks up the road ahead... any turns coming up? Preferably nice, sharp ones that really shift the balance of a vehicle? (Woot, I missed!) * Jason dematerializes a partially in the area the bullet is firing at, but it comes a bit too closed to his arm, and his control isn't fine enough. (Woo...controlled swarm. Too bad it missed ^^;) * Jason snarls as the bullet grazes him. "Damnit." But he doesn't slow in the least. (Yeah. Next time. ^_^) (The penalties involved in this chase scene are insane.) ( They get the same ones. ... I hope. ) (They are. @_@) [Suddenly, a faint mist fills the air, it doesn't seem to be entirely there, but it clouds vision a bit. Soul rolls everyone.] (...DR dammit :P) ( Yup. ) (That's more like it) (And they've only hit once. So yeah, they got penalties. :P) ( .. flunk. ;_; ) (...crap. Ren's gonna be mind warped and shoot me in the head while I'm driving. ;_;) [Jonathon and manages to concentrate and ignore the mist, but Ren is having trouble seeing. +4 to straight vision, +2 to vision related (like driving or shooting)] [Jason's turn!] (Haha!) ( ... I so need to get blind-shooting. ;_; ) ( o/~) (*tries to do math* Eeew. But it would be something he'd try to do, so let's get to it.) [Jason's turn] [Currently one Jason's one car length behind. Jonathon still three.] (Even with nitro?) * Ren squints, trying to keep a visual lock on his next intended target... "... fun." * Jonathon hmmphs as the mist comes out. "Just ignore it." (Ren: And there are opportunities for turns coming up, though the road is straight for a bit. Also a fair number of the turns are blocked by barrels or made tough by parked cars) ( well, I'm hoping to blow the tire at just the right time to send it spinning like a log down the stairs. ) (I'll give a -2 bonus for dropping a raise if you want. Oh, and you can't make raises and drop raises in the same turn. Duh. :P ) * Jason focuses on the vampire that shot him and... slows as he concentrates on the fire forming in his hand. He brings it up, snapping the fire whip at and hopefully around him. (Ha. I'm going a negative two raises. No, seriously.) (So he's dropping back with Jonathon? ^^;) (Oh, and yeah, even with Nitro.) (And yeah) (In the process of.) (+4 to the driving, +4 to the attack.) (Yay!) [Jason slows and falls a bit behind the ambulance, the vamp that shot him smirks for a moment until Jason in a Balrog-esque gesture manages to wrap his whip around the vamp. The vamp seems to be in pain, as some of the flame gets through his now obvious armour] * Jason smirks right back, yanking as hard as he can and sending the burning vampire sailing behind him. Possibly at Jonathon, possibly not. [The vamp manages to push off the back of the ambulance as he's pulled back, and jumps onto the roof of Jonathon's car. Digging his fingers into the hood with one hand.] * Jonathon smiles at that. "Care to hand me that crossbow?" (Yay, crossbow!) * Ren blinks, then gives up trying to focuses through the sniper rifle. He reaches back, and hands the crossbow to Jonathon. [The remaining vampire in the ambulance starts firing at Jason again, this time he seems to be concentrating on the target and is staying quite still as he does so.] [His first spray of bullets is wild, but he manages to come closer with his second spray. Dodge roll Jason!] (Worked that time. Ha!) [Three bullets fly through Jason leaving a trail of fire in their wake. Except, the trail vanishes a second after and Jason seems just fine.] [Jonathon!] * Jonathon peeks slightly behind him as he rides, still keeping one eye on the road and one hand on the wheel as he smiles at the vamp on the roof. "Sorry old chap. No joy riders." He raises the crossbow up towards the vampire's chest and lets loose a bolt. (this is insane, but hey. ^^;) [The vampire on Jonathon's roof screeches in pain and then burns up, leaving dust, clothes and a magnum falling to road behind him. Nice present for some kid or something.] [Ren!] * Jonathon turns back to the wheel and smiles as he travels down the road. (If you want to wait til they turn, hold your turn. But you probably know that) * Ren switches to the pistol with the AP clip, and counts the seconds to fire.... [Suddenly the ambulance attempts to make a sharp turn through some barrels of water and towards a more crowded street.] [Ren's shot!] Now! * Ren fires at the rear tire that's been taking all the abuse. (Correct) ( ... and DR2. ) ( ... ;_; ) [Ren doesn't quite lead his shot enough, probably because of the mist in his eyes.] * Ren rubs his eyes, blinking. "Just off." [The Ambulance tears through two water barrels, causing a large plum of water in it's wake, it's now tearing down a small road with cars on each side. About a block ahead there's a busy city street.] [Jason's turn] * Ren looks up ahead, and curses silently. * Jonathon looks on the road and sighs. "This will make it just a tad harder, I imagine." [Jason revs his engine and pulls back up to his original position, one car length behind the Ambulance] [Its tires are still burning] Hey, who's driving the van? Can you see by their mirror? No. You shot out the passenger side one and I've been staying on that side of them, remember? * Jonathon doesn't sound irate as he says that, no not at all. Wasn't a good plan then. No. No it wasn't. * Jonathon speaks perfectly calmly as he says that. [The vamp in the back finishes off his clip firing at Jason as he draws another pistol with his free hand and tries to spray Jonathon. * Ren keeps trying to regain his focus... "So say it sooner next time." Too late now. We work with what we're dealt with. Bloody bastards. "I wish I got to hand out more of these, really." * Jonathon grips the wheel and gets ready to avoid if need by. ( ... The GM got a crit. ) (...) ( ... with an AF weapon. ) [Jason accelerates into the bullets and is now nigh in melee range of the ambulance] (For Jason... :P) (Good ^_^) [And the vamp misses when firing at Jonathon] [Jonathon!] [Oh, and the vamp with the auto fire now looks mostly healed] Once my sight clears, I'm gonna go take control of the wheel. *continues blinking, and trying to keep his aim straight* * Jonathon leans out of the window and takes a deep breath, opening his eyes and training the weapon on the driver's side rear tire until the laser dot comes out. "If they stop, get the blue clip ready and toss it to me. Matter of fact, get both of them to me." He takes careful aim with one hand on the wheel. [And the machine pistol also lands on the road. Some street gang is gonna have a field day. ^_~] [Ren!] (I assume that's an all aim turn) * Ren nods, (not that Jonathon sees that), and passes the clips to Jonathon. (Yes.) Not NOW. When they stop. ( Yeah. Not gonna fire in a populated area. ) * Ren draws his hand back, keeping them handy, then. (Anything else Ren?) ( Nope. ) ( Actually, gonna take a potshot at the standing vamp. ) ( Go for it) * Ren leans out, squinting, and fires off a shot at one of the vamps. [The guy has been concentrating on firing so he doesn't try to dodge as the bullet flies by him.] * Ren mutters something to himself. [At this point, the ambulance pulls into the intersection, it's reckless as it does so and clips a passing car which looks damaged but only a mirror loss. He manages to pull ahead a little while doing so.] Don't think about it. Just let the bullet do its work. And I think we need to take it out NOW. * Ren nods. [Oh, and as you emerge from the alley, you notice that there are a lot less cars behind you and coming in from side intersection than you usually expect. [Jason!] (Sorry this is taking so long. I'm trying something different. ;P) ( ... but isn't that what you usually do? ) (Yeah. So it's either me saying what I want to do and then a big pause, or a big pause and then me doing it. :P) * Jason grins madly, and his eyes flash red even through his glasses. The fire on the left back tire begins to move, creeping up into the ambulance, even as Jason speeds and attempts to bring himself to the driver's side of the vehicle. [Jason manages to pull even with the Ambulance in a wicked burst of speed, but as he pass next to the vehicle he loses sight of his target and the fire just misses him.] [Jonathon and Vamp at same time] * Jonathon pulls out into the intersection after the vamps, keeping a steady eye on the tire. He fires off the shot that he's been concentrating on, trying to get rid of that damned tire. (6 shot, 2 driving. -2 for having aimed the round before.) (Driving first) (Should have raised...oh well...shoot :P) (Nice!) * Vampire is opening fire at his two available targets, trying to spray both Jonathon and Ren. Jonathon needs a ranged (driving) defense roll. * Jonathon pulls in after the shot and turns the wheel quickly, looking slightly less calm as he does so. (And that's a make ^^) [The tire is thumping along the road now, probably making the driving a bit harder. One more hit should take it out completely.] [And Jonathon manages to weave as he's driving, avoiding the bullets.] [Ren!] * Ren doesn’t seem to be fazed by the gunfire... he squeezes off another shot at the tire. ( ... evil penalties. ;_; ) [Ren just misses, but he's close enough that there's no peripheral damage.] ( I've failed every shot that would have mattered by 2 or less. Evil mist. ;_; ) [Ambulance suddenly swings left, trying to smash Jason.] (Let's see, how many rounds ago was that? We'll say it wears off next round. It only lasts five) [Jason, give me a driving roll I suppose. Obvious options are pass or fall back.] ( ... he's going to accelerate. ) [Braking helps for falling back, Accelerating means extra speed helps. And +2 to the accelerate roll] [Given that you're closer to the back.] (Hmm.) (Pass.) (Uh, yeah!) [Jason eeks out a bit more acceleration from his bike and pulls in front of the ambulance as it slams into the side of some pulled over cars. There's large gashes in the sides of the cars, and now panicky people ahead of you are fleeing their vehicles. But not getting in the road] [The ambulance slows down a bit as a result of the friction, and the driver's mirror is ripped off as well.] [Jason's turn!] .... * Jason glances back, and breaks a sharp right, bringing himself across the front as fire pools into his hand and flashes forward towards and across the windshield. [The windshield shatters as Jason clips it. He stays safely ahead of the ambulance though.] [Jonathon and Speedy Vamp!] [Vamp with the machine pistol is trying to spray Jonathon and Ren again, seems like he's having a bit of luck, so when Jonathon's turn is over, he'll need a dodge roll.] * Jonathon keeps his target steady on the tire. About time the stupid thing went down. [The rest of the rubber is blown off the tire, causing the the Ambulance to tilt a bit and then suddenly veer to the right, smashing into a row of cars. Thankfully, people had been fleeing so the cars are empty.] * Jonathon lets out a slow sigh. "Finally. Clips. Now." He slows the car nearby as he catches up. [The van seems to take minimal damage from the collision, while driving the car in front of into a nearby building, cutting it's width by a quarter as it scrunches against the wall.] (Oh wait...nm) (Oh, and give me the dodge roll. -6 bonus, cause the van went down] (*whistles*) * Ren hands the clips over. [Jonathon easily dodges the bullets as the van veers to the side. [Ren!] (I'll say handing the clip was free.) (Still slowing, so only +2 penalty) [The guy in the back was knocked to the ground, seems a bit phased, but still undead certainly. Hard to tell with the invisible guy in front.] (Actually. Well, you can't see the front yet. :P) (All I know is he has glass in his eyes. maybe literally!) * Ren suddenly leans forward in the seat... there's a glimpse of fur appearing, before he disappears in a burst of it. [Ren materializes in the front of the ambulance. There's glass everywhere. Fortunately, he has shoes! Also fortunately, there's an obviously invisible vamp struggling against the airbag pinning him to the back of the seat. (*giggles*) (Let me at that airbag.) You. Don't fucking move. [A bullet flies into the invisible form and disappears to the tune of a squeal of pain, and then seconds later the airbag fully inflates, only then to deflate as it hits shards of glass. (That's *great*. ^_^) [Jason's turn!] [Ren's admonition apparently goes unheeded. ;P] (Uh, so what *can* we see of Invisibo?) ( Note. He fired first, then said that. :9 ) [Nothing, although there is a neat little pile of dust and glass shards now that the airbag is deflating.] * Jason turns and breaks to a halt near the ambulance, jumping off his bike. He alongside it. Any victi- er, vampires? [There's the rather guy in the back.] ( Can you access the back of the van from the front? Err... is it open? ) [Yeah, for Ren. Jason has to get through the driver door or the windshield first.] [Windshield is absent, but not convenient] (He runs alongside it. And yeah.) (That all of Jason's turn?) (Was gonna smack around anyone available, but since it doesn't seem anyone is, I guess so?) [Jason gets to where he can easily attack machine gun vamp next turn without making himself an obvious target.] (Yay! What if I want to make myself an obvious target? Can I do that, too?) [Machine gun vamp shakes his head and stands up with alarming speed, and then fires up at Ren, who needs a dodge roll.] (Sure. :P) (Awesome. ^^) [The first bullet hurts Ren a bit, the latter few mostly bounce off. The vamp glares at Ren in disgust as he throws away the gun.] [Jonathon!] [Oh, and Jason is now an obvious target, if he wants to be. :P] (Thank you, GM!) Yeah, like you're the only one. (I do what I can. :P) * Jonathon stops the car and whips out the clip already in there, jamming in the blue marked one. He shakes his head as he walks forward. "Alright. Nothing personal, but you blokes tried to scratch the paint. That's bad form." (Assuming the change of clips means no attack, yes? ^^) (Yeah, combined with everything else) [Ren!] * Ren glances at the drivers seat breifly, then back at the poor vamp who dared to shoot him. He dosen't bother with the 'scrambling over the seats' thing to get to him, he just teleports to the side of him, and fires with both revolvers. (Roll it) ( one hit. ) [The vamp is knocked back against the wall again, and seems like he's in a lot of pain, doesn't go dusty though.] * Vamp snarls. "I am so going to reincarnate and come after you with a better gun." * Ren grins ferally. "You not shrugging that off." [Jason's turn!] ( You're. Grr. ) * Jason makes himself an obvious target, but it's unlikely he's noticed because of what Ren did. The fire he whips from his hand probably is, though. "You say that like you're gonna bloody remember." (Wow. Assuming I got no bonuses for attacking a prone target, I miss!) (I so rule.) (Checks if there's prone bonuses. (Not seeing any, think it just means hard to defend.) (It's fair. What I get for not taking DR. ^^) [Jason lights the area around the vamp on fire, which will probably do the job soon enough, just not as stylishly.] ( Erm. I think there's a melee bonus, and a ranged penalty for prone targets. IIRC. ) [As Jason does this, Jonathon sees a man in a black and green tuxedo, in the latest style, suddenly appear next to Jason's bike.] ( Checks. Prone people get a +4 to their attacks. ) [The man is quickly obscured by a rapidly rising swirling mist of black of smoke, although all can hear is comment.] ( wait, that's the wrong one. ) (Recurring villain, OMG! If he takes my bike, he's past dead.) My my... petty crime is not my usual modus operendi, but his is just too tempting. [And the bike can be heard revving from within the smoke] [Jonathon!] (The machine gunner still alive? And the man is all smoke I assume yes?) (Machine gunner, barely alive, man, he's physical, but surrounded by smoke. It'd be a blind shot. (Neat.) * Jason hears this and turns his attention from the guy. "Shit!" * Jonathon sighs and whips his arm towards the sound of the smoke, closing his eyes and firing blindly towards Jason's bike. "First thing's first.." (Blind shot penalty?) If you hurt the bike, you're a fucking dead man, Jonathon! (Note: he's firing at the man on the bike, not the bike itself. I figured you'd assume that but thought I'd make it clear ;P) (+4 Blind shot helps) (Bang. ^_^_v) [The bullet bounces off the smoke cloud. Seems it's a lot more physical than one would guess.] [Ren!] * Jonathon just sighs. "Thick smoke. Bloody wonderful." * Ren fires off a finishing shot at the almost-dead vamp, not even paying attention as he jumps out of the van. ( How much of a penalty this time? ) No penalty. (No penalty rather) [Vamp lights up briefly, his face stuck in a snarl. His body is then consumed by flames, leaving the poncho and body armour behind.] [And just before Jason can react, there's a malevolent laugh from the cloud as it rapidly speeds away.] [Break!]
