[Date: August 21 Time: 1000 GMT.] [Location: Mi-5 hospital facility, seen before by people post Ambulance Chasing. Jason has a frequent customer card.] * Brett has left #sab2020 [You're in a recuperative room designed to allow for speaking to the patients.] [Saldin's been working on the surviving commando off and on for a while now. Apparently this was a particularly unpleasant possession for the victim, not to mention getting beat down.] [He's there now, as is a female doctor looking over the patient. The hallways are fairly sparse, with just the occassional doctor or orderly passing by.] [There was a family most of you passed on the way in, but they seem like they're here for someone else.] [Arrive in an order of your choosing. Oh, and there are chairs in the room, and a projection screen.] [Start!] (Kurt's still welcome, if he wants to come) (Well, that sure won't enter into play.) (*snigger*) * Saki comes in, walking in a slouch. * Marguerite walks in, grumbling as she probably has to snuff out her cigarette. She keeps her sunglasses on indoors. (She does in fact) * Saldin is already there. He looks... surprisingly normal. No tentacles or anything. He is sitting in a chair, his amulet resting outside his shirt, near the poor posessed commando. * Kurt walks in, following Maggie closely. * Kurt eyes Saldin. "Who's the new guy?" * Saldin looks directly at Kurt with his pure white eyes. "My name is Saldin Qian. I believe I saw you yesterday, fighting Yvonne. Quite impressive." He nods at Maggie, "Mad Dog." He tuen turns to Saki. "I don't believe I have met you before." * Kurt blinks. "You did?" (That was Kurt, right?) (yes) ( Yeah, it was. ) Same here. Saki Morikawa. * Arktos opens the door. He.. looks fairly strange, being roughly seven feet tall and made entirely out of metal. Right now, he's wearing flowing blue clothing, and the only facial feature that he has are two dimly glowing points of green light. * Kurt peers at Saldin, then brightens in recognition. "Oh, what happened to the tentacles?" * Doctor looks up. "He does check out. And does great work to, this poor man would probably need years of psychological counciling without him." * Marguerite half nods to Saldin and looks down at the commando. "Poor fuckin' what (Gah). * Saldin says, without diverting his face from Saki. "Saki, then. As to the tentacles..." now he swivels to look at Kurt. "What's-his-name." I do not always look like myself. * Arktos leans against a nearby wall, observing the group. He also seems to have a fairly ornate sword hanging on a belt at his waist. [The guy still has some remnents of his uniform. His name, according to that, is Oskar Maddock.] I can understand that. * Marguerite frowns. "Guy was new, too. Fairly new." She seems to be mostly talking to herself. * Saldin continues, "As the doctor said, I am strictly here to help repair this poor man's mind, and add any insight my powers and knowledge may provide. The interrogation is all up to you." (Oh, anyone particularly looking over the corpse give me a sight check, HA counts) ( Corpse? O.o ) (Err.. body) (A thin line indeed.) 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d8) and gets 10. (Oh, and also, hearing check, HA counts) 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d8) and gets 7. (No, yes.) 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Saki (2d8-4) and gets 9. 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Kurt (2d8-4) and gets 3. (Now, we watch the newbie try to figure out this system..) ( Hah. No way ) ( No problem. ) * Marguerite looks up. "That'll be the Boy Scout herself, I bet." Boy scout? I'm pretty sure they don't allow girls. Figure of speech. * Saldin 's face doesn't move, but a perceptive person might figure he is giving Arktos a glance. She ain't a girl scout. They don't let them fire guns or fly choppers. ...they let boy scouts do that? Man, if I'd know that, I'd totally have joined up. * Doctor looks up. "Actually, they sometimes do. And we cook with fire, not like your average namby pamby propane using Boy Scout." [There's two sets of footsteps down the hall.] * Marguerite pulls off her sunglasses with a sigh. "Here comes everybody." She pockets them. So, Doc... how cybered is this dude? * Doctor looks over to Saldin. "Can you wake him up gently with your powers?" (Saldin: "Yes! Be HEALED!" *SLAP*) * Saki folds her arms and waits. * Arktos hasn't moved an inch since he began leaning, but his 'eyes' flicker slightly. * Doctor looks to Kurt. "Fairly extensive. Has heads up display on his optic nerve, possiblity for direct connection with fire arms and vehicles, although I think a lot of that is standard in the EU force these days." * Marguerite nods idly. * Saldin nods once in response to the Doctor, and raises his amulet in his hand. The amulet begins to hum and glow. * Dame Eckerd opens the door, she's looking slightly less chipper than usual, which says something. * Kurt nods. "Figures." * Kurt turns and bows deeply to Dame Eckerd. Bet he's got the other standard mods as well... mornin', sir. * Saki offers Dame Eckerd a partial wave. [And through the door walks a woman in an EU dress uniform, she's got curly but close cropped hair and moves very smoothly and confidently. Doesn't look all that built, but could probably handle an carrying automatic rifle all day.] * Maddock blinks and seems to be stirring.] * Saldin does not bow at the Dame, or the new arrival, but he moves his head, obviously looking at each. "He should be aware shortly." * Marguerite makes a smooth, professional nod to the woman. "Morning, Colonel. Unless you got promoted since I left." [Her unifrom is still marked as Colonel. Name: Alba Vega Ortiz. Oh, and anyone looking for it can also see she's got some grey in her brown eyes and marking below her ear that betray cyber enhancement.] ( That's an impressive name @_@ ) * Arktos turns his head to the left. ( Let me guess, said marking is washing directions? ) * Colonel returns the nod. "Morning. Ms. McLochlane." (She's Spainish. Dual last name pretty common) * Eckerd glances at the Colonel for a minute and then looks over at Maddock. "So, let's get this started." * Colonel walks over to the private's bedside and looks down on him. She looks over to the doctor. "Better than I feared, thank you. Will you need to stay by his bedside?" * Doctor shakes her head. "Call me if you need me." She then heads out. * Maddock looks around. "Where am I..." * Colonel waits a minute. "England.. you're going to need to help us figure out how you got here." (England?) (..that's where he is.) * Maddock sits up, it seems like he has gotten better. He looks over to Saki. "I.. tried to kill you.. I'm sorry." * Saki shrugs. "Happens a lot." * Maddock looks confused. * Saldin still sits in the chair, holding the amulet in his hands. The hum is constant, but the light is intermittent. * Marguerite sits down in a chair and crosses her legs. Her line of work often puts her at risk of death. * Colonel looks down to Maddock. "Do you remember what you were trying to do?" * Maddock hesitates for a moment, and then looks to Saldin and seems to gain a bit more confidence. "We were trying to kill three women.. I think.. her first.. I hated her." ::he nods to Saki:: * Colonel looks over to Saki. Her voice is quite even. "Any insight Ms. Morikawa?" It's my charm. But obviously, he was possessed. Probably, his thoughts weren't his own. Wouldn't be the first time I've been in a situation like this. * Maddock nods and looks over at Saki. "I don't know you, I think I'd remember." * Cherry is now known as Todd * Colonel nods. "Those past situations provide any insight?" You don't. But whatever possessed you did. * Maddock sort of nods to himself. "That makes sense." * Saki looks to the Colonel. "I've run into these beings before. They're not exactly spirits, but they take possession of people." * Marguerite shifts in her seat. "And they hate you, huh? Nice gig, that." Tell me about it. These things look like angry kinda clouds? * Saki nods. 'Angry clouds'? Yeah, I saw one when I pegged Pierre. Though I wouldn't have shot him if I knew at the time it was Pierre. * Saldin glances over at Dame and Colonel, and then says, cautiously. "To assist you all, I must point out that it might be possible to find out more about any particular subject. I really rather would not, however. Too often might be unsafe." * Saki shrugs. "They still die if you hit them enough. I got rid of the one that possessed him." She jerks a thumb at Oskar. * Colonel glances over at Marguerite. "Glad to hear you'll only immediately deploy lethal force against possessed people you don't know." (That's my baby.) * Arktos turns his head towards Dame Eckerd. * Eckerd looks over at Arktos. "We have run an autospy on the body that formed when Ms. Morikawa killed this one. It seemed like it was weakened before it died." * Marguerite snorts. "Yeah, well, I about had my head taken off. And besides." She grins. "I make exceptions." I.. see. Figures it was too easy. * Colonel doesn't look amused. * Arktos , for the record, doesn't seem to have a mouth to actually be talking, but there's a voice. [Kurt seems to have slipped out while no one was watching. It's within his abilities.] * Maddock keeps looking generally confused. You're welcome to be a target if you want, but you ain't my boss anymore, and nobody said anything about no lethal force when I was briefed. * Colonel looks over to Eckerd. "You may wish to assign someone to your briefings if you continue to deploy her." * Colonel then looks back at Marguerite and continues in a cold tone. "From what I've read, they had a paralegal look over any orders you'd been given, apparently you showed great creativity in destroying anything that would typically be protected by common sense or human dececncy." * Marguerite just chuckles. "Yeah, but my team casualty rate was lower than yours, wasn't it?" * Maddock looks over to Saldin. "The others Pierre.. Andria, she's dead, isn't she..." (Yeah, that's another one of mine. My bad.) Actually, the girl probably escaped. Although if she's still alive, I have no idea. * Eckerd shakes her head. "We found her body, she fell from the catwalk Jason fell on." * Saldin shakes his head, and smiles comfortingly. "I honestly don't know. I was not there. But if they survived..." he stops speaking as Eckard opens his mouth. The thing probably abandoned it. * Colonel doesn't blink as she keeps staring at Marguerite. "It's our job to protect Europe's people, not ourselves. A real soldier would know that, which I suppose is why you're a mercenary." * Marguerite just cracks up lauging. * Maddock sort of turns over to his side and closes his eyes. A real soldier also knows that reprimands given by someone with no authority have as much effect as a paper sword. (Hey, paper cuts are nasty.) (Shh. :P) * Saki rolls her eyes. * Saldin 's brow furrows. Were we gonna ask him anything else, or did you just come here to yell at me because you lost half your squad again? * Colonel looks over to Arktos and nods. "You're absolutely right." She looks pointedly at Eckerd for a moment before looking back to Marguerite for a moment with a particularly unfriendly glare, she then looks back to Maddock. * Marguerite just leans back, grinning. * Saldin reaches a hand out to Maddock, and touches his shoulder. "There is nothing you could have done. You tried as hard as you could, Oskar." * Saldin 's amulet suddenly flashes. * Saki shoves her hands in her pockets. * Arktos doesn't move from his position. * Eckerd steps forward looking at the Colonel. "So have you determined yet how the squad got some of the classified information on the operation. Or should we anticipate in the future that you'll share any information we give you with your entire organization." (Man. That was £100 well-spent.) 2d8-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Saldin (2d8-5) and gets 4. * Maddock speaks half heartedly. "If I were more careful, maybe if I'd worn the mental shielding that night." He then pauses and thinks for a moment. "Maybe you're right." * Colonel looks back at Eckerd. "They were hunting your people. And you're recruitment requirements are obviously laughable." She glances at Marguerite. "You've obviously got some good people in your organization, but it'd just take one other bad seed to compromise the mission." * Saldin smiles, and squeezes his arm, ignoring the pissing contest. "It was not something you could have prevented," he says calmly. "Maybe it would have made a difference. Maybe not. You must live on regardless." * Saki rubs her head. "Yeah, and don't get possessed again." Session Time: Mon Mar 22 00:00:00 2004 One of the possessed had a liquid nitrogen launcher. And an inspection after the fact found several of these. ::She takes out a object about the same size as a hockey puck, if twice as thick:: Teleportal mine if Victor doesn't miss his guess. * Colonel looks it over and holds out a hand. Eckerd passes it to her. "You're right, this is one of ours." They had standard EU spidermines, too. * Colonel nods and looks down at Maddock. "You said three women earlier. Ms. Morikawa, the target I suppose, was Ms. Marguerite a specific target of yours." Must've been. Weren't any others around. I know you, I, it didn't hate you... But it wanted you dead. Well, it's certainly not alone. * Colonel looks over to Marguerite. "I can't say I'm surprised." * Saldin glances over at the Colonel, then back at Oskar. * Marguerite chokes down a remark, eliciting a few interesting facial expressions in the process. * Colonel looks the group over and looks to Saldin. "I'm finished with my questioning, as far as I'm concerned, you can concentrate on his welfare." She looks down at Maddock putting her hand on his shoulder. "Take as much time as you need, you don't need to come back to duty or be debriefed until your ready." * Eckerd looks over Maggie and Saki. "Did you two have any more questions?" * Saki closes her eyes and thinks. Only if he remembers anything else. * Saki shakes her head. "I'm done." (Nobody asked about me. Weep!) * Maddock sighs. "I, I'm not sure. I was at camp when I was possessed, but, if I know anything else helpful, I'm not sure what it would be." He looks up to the Colonel. "Sorry Ma'am." She comments in a softer voice. "It's alright private." * Marguerite nods. "I'm done." * Saldin exhales slightly, seemingly relieved. * Colonel takes a satchel off her belt and walks over to Saki and offers it to her and speaks quietly but evenly. "Thank you Ms. Morikawa, if it weren't for your efforts, I don't think there'd be any survivors." * Saki frowns, but takes it. I didn't do it to be a hero. * Colonel looks over to Maddock one last time. "Get better, we'll if there's anyone you want to see you let us know and we'll contact them." * Colonel looks over to Saki. "Oh?" * Saki shakes her head. "Nevermind." * Colonel nods. "Whatever your motivation, thank you." She leaves and Eckerd walks out after her. * Marguerite cracks up laughing as the Colonel leaves. Has the military really become so.. so.. * Maddock just stares at Marguerite. Idiotic? It has in the EU. Man, I fled that place like a sinking ship. * Marguerite stands up and stretches. She looks at Maddock. "My advice is to get out now. You're compromised, and they'll never clear you like they did before, no matter what the Boy Scout says." Ah, at least one metaphor has survived. * Maddock comments evenly. "Thanks for the advice." This is the group I'll be working with, then? Depends on who you are. Welcome to the party, or something. Arktos Atreides. Knight Savior of Atlantis. ... hoo! Now, I HAVE seen everything. * Saldin rubs Maddck's shoulder again, saying, "Mad Dog's advice is not something you should worry about now, Oskar." * Saki nods. This is only the second time I've gotten to the introduction before the other person ran off screaming. * Maddock nods and looks up to Saldin. "Is it alright if I try to get to sleep again?" * Saldin nods, and smiles broadly. "Rest up as best you can. If you need me, I will be back." * Maddock nods. "Thank you." He then shuts his eyes. (Wrapping up whenever) * Marguerite shakes her head, then walks out. "See you guys later." * Saki pushes herself off the wall and heads out. "Yeah. Later." * Saldin stands and says, calmly, "Saki and Mad Dog? I would like to talk to you for a second, if you are not busy." * Saki halts and looks back over her shoulder. "Hm?" * Arktos heads out the door. * Saldin picks up a pack off the ground, and slings it over his back. "In the hall. Oskar has had enough pain for one day." * Marguerite spins around. "Make it quick, I got some investigation to do." She follows Saldin. * Saki waits outside. * The female doctor had been waiting outside, she head in while you leave. * Arktos just walks down the hall, eventually taking a stairwell down. * Arktos is now known as Will [There's two janitors chatting at one end of the hallway, but near as you can tell, they're well out of earshot.] * Saldin walks out into the hall as well. Once they are all there, he turns to them both and says, sincerely, but without anger, "I would ask you, next time, to refrain from sarcastically deriding the man who has had his mind ripped apart and his comrades killed due to no fault of their own." What? When did I "deride" him? I gave his ass some real advice. * Saki stares at Saldin. * Saldin replies, "And your real advice came from the person who apparently killed one of his friends, at a time when the only thing he has to hold on to is who he is, and that extremely tenuously." Look, it's not like I'm gonna come back to visit, and it's the only good advice he's gonna get today, I guaran-fucking-tee it. * Will has quit IRC (Quit: Lo, your insidious luddite conspiracy ends now, cat! ) I wasn't sarcastic. At all. Except for the bit about my charm, maybe. * Saldin says. "I cannot say I necessarily disagree with your idea, but I think, perhaps, you would find it no easier to have your place challenged when weak. Thank you for listening." Yeah, yeah. * Marguerite walks off. * Saldin turns to Saki. "As for your sarcasm, perhaps I misintereted your comment about not being posessed again." Looks that way. Is that it? * Saldin says, "Yes, that is it." He smiles and waves. "Goodbye, Saki." * Saki walks away, waving over her shoulder. "See ya." [End!]
