[Current situation:] [Maggie and Drew shut down an apparent incubation site for the werewolves down by the harbor.] [Kahlya is off god knows where in the town scaring the life out of some woman, but you don't know that.] [Arktos is currently seeing to the people still in the police station.] [Roy is currently passed out in the APC, guarded by Victor.] [Red is currently in the helicopter, which is over by Kurt, who is just starting tracking.] [And Maggie, right about now we'll say, announces she's been scratched.] [Start in here, let's focus on Kurt for a minute.] [Kurt picks up more of the bipedal trail leading away from the back of the police station.] [Looks like whatever it was moved fairly quickly and was quite heavy, although the tracks are subtle enough to indicate this beast is fairly agile as well.] * Kurt signals up to whoever might be listening, ~something big and fast running away from the jail. I'm in pursuit.~ ~We're going to reinforce you with Marguerite, in case there's another pack, go ahead and keep on it for now.~ * Kurt takes off after the tracks, not moving anywhere close to as fast as he'd like. ~Roger that, Kurt. Good hunting, and I'll cover you if the foliage permits me to.~ ~Roger. Will rendezvous with Kurt.~ * Marguerite takes off at her top speed after Kurt. ~Be there soon, Kurt. Keep on the trail.~ [Kurt keeps tracking the creature into the woods, he thinks unfortunately at the moment, at best he's keeping pace with it while tracking.] [Kurt makes rapid progress on the beast, until he discovers he's got side tracked onto an old game trail and can't immediately find where the trail was.] [About now Arktos finishes dealing with the jailed wolves and Maggie gets to the start of trail.] Shit. * Kurt starts backtracking. * Marguerite runs down the trail! ~Kurt - found your trail. Where are you?~ ~Backtracking. Tried to speed up and lost the damn trail.~ ~Hold up, I'll meet you.~ [Kurt and Maggie meet up before he's caught the trail again. Oh and aside from the helicopter spotlight it is pretty dark out here, being night and in a forest, remind me what your light sources are.] There you are. Found it again? Nope. Damn. * Marguerite peers around, looking for it inexpertly. [Helicopter keeps the spotlight around Kurt now, which assists in tracking as it's dark, it also gets a bit louder as it lowers itself to an altitude about 10 meters above the tree tops. On the upside, this means a lot more light gets through.] [Kurt's got the trail again, he even manages to pick up some speed, though not as much as he'd like, that’s in part to Marguerite's assistance.] * Marguerite runs! After Kurt! * Arktos flies out of the police station's window, attempting to catch up with and hitch a ride on the helicopter. [Currently the trail seems headed away from town and towards the outer perimeter, it weaves some though, and overall goes about at a 45 degree angle away from the coast.] Got any clue what we're tracking? Whatever it is, it's big and fast. ~More than a normal were?~ [Kurt and Marguerite keep on the trail, seems to be running more parallel to the coastline by now, although you'd bet it'll still hit the perimeter within two kilometers. And considering they do have some snipers with tranqs at the perimeter, that contact might happen a good bit before 2 kilometers.] Hard to say. I'm not well acquainted with them. ~Me either, but this thing either has a huge head start or is really flying.~ [Kurt is apparently getting a feel for the query and is picking up speed, Maggie has to huff it a bit to keep up. He does notice that the trail is getting a little harder though, as if whatever he's tracking is trying to cover its tracks by jumping on rocks or fallen trees rather than stepping in the dirt.] [Maggie sees a vague heat signature in the distance and Kurt hears his query for the first time, it seems to be trying not to make unnecessary noise.] [However, both of you do lose the trail, which isn't so bad considering.] * Kurt completely ignores the trail now, scoops Maggie up in his arms and GOES at top speed for the sound. [And its still some distance off, like half a kilometer or so.] ~Have visual confirmation of something...Jesus fuck me!~ * Kurt takes to the air, bouncing from tree to tree at ludicrous speed. * Marguerite manages to work out a stuttered "Ddddinner and a ddate ffirst, Kkkurt!" We did Mexican, didn't we? ~Oh, Maggie gets a *fun* ride. How's the stomach, Marguerite?~ * Arktos rockets down from the helicopter, sword alight and in hand. "Would you two discuss personal matters after we've dispatching the foe?" [..dispatched.] ~If you can airlift some pepto bismol I'd love it.~ * Red says, with an audible grin, ~I'll see what I can do.~ [Alright, with your sudden increase in speed he's easily come into medium range. Maggie can see more of the target at this point, quite a large bipedal apparently, easily grizzly size.] [Anyone taking shots from medium range?] ~Fuck me, he's huge.~ ~I can only wish you were talking about me.~ ~That was my worry.~ ~Down, Kurt.~ ~That comes later. Target's about the size of a grizzly.~ ~My goodness. I'm looking for him -- it's hard with the foliage.~ ~I can clear it easily if you'd like.~ ~Got him. That is... one large creature. I'm not sure my tranq rounds will help much, but I'll try.~ * Marguerite aims, bumping about as she is, and squeezes off a shot at it. [Maggie thinks she lands one, the fact that there's an outraged roar in the distance seems to confirm this fact.] ~Got the bastard.~ [And we're getting to melee.] [Arktos, Maggie, Kurt (Maggie gets to Melee range), Baddie, Red] [As you get even closer, you can make out this guy more clearly, looks to be going on two and a half meters tall, thick fur, pronounced snout but still a face that keeps some traces of humanity, vicious claws. Looks like he could go to the beach and kick sand in the faces of other werewolves.] [Arktos!] * Arktos lands and increases his speed fivefold. Ripping through the foliage, he raises the flaming sword for a quick strike. [Arktos over swings his target who agilely stops his flight and leaps well to the side of the flaming sword, wonder if he saw it in the night or smelled it first.] [Maggie!] * Marguerite aims, her hand staying remarkably still despite Kurt's jumping, and makes another shot. [Maggie lands another hit. The werewolf winces and bleeds, but isn't knocked back in the slightest. He fixes his eyes on the incoming Maggie and Kurt.] [Kurt's turn] * Kurt stops a short distance away from the grizzly-sized werewolf and sets Maggie gently on her feet, then steps between her and the massive wolf-bear. * Marguerite fairly snorts. "How gentlemanly." There's no need to call me names. * Wolf-bear suddenly starts sprinting towards the pair as Kurt puts Maggie down, ignoring the closer Arktos. As he first starts out he kicks a passing tree, about half a meter in diameter, that easily falls forward, he grabs it and kicks into cheetah level speed once the trunk is in hand. He then swings for Kurt and Maggie. [The pair are swept back into the air by the powerful blow, thankfully he didn't have a full swing arc because this is a forest. You aren't knocked quite high enough to go above the tree tops, but you wouldn't know it from the pain.] Ugh! GRAH! * Kurt rebounds off a tree and runs back down to ground level to face off with this thing. * Wolf growls out after he hits in an rather deep voice. "No silver!" [Maggie flies through the air without quite the greatest of ease, she grabs for a branch and nearly reaches it before she reaches the height of her arch, unfortunately she doesn't quite crouch into a roll in time and lands with a thud.] ~And he can talk, too. Impressive.~ [Red!] * Red continues to aim at the beast. Important shot, here. [Arktos!] * Marguerite springs up, panting and flushed. "GRAH. What the fuck?" * Arktos whirls and gets into his stance seconds before rushing at the werewolf once more. * Werewolf grins toothily and spins at the last moment, leaving Arktos's flame blade completely embedded in the tree trunk, which, predictably enough, is now catching fire. [Maggie!] Rrrr... * Marguerite wordlessly growls, then spins and aims for the hulking beast again. * Wolf takes a hit and looks unstable for a moment before dropping to a crouch. His leg looks blood but like it can still hold his weight, but doubtful it can make its earlier running speed. [Kurt!] * Kurt drops into a crouch at the base of the tree, holding his right hand clenched at his side. It flares a bright red as it catches fire, then he runs screaming at the werewolf, hand pulled back for a haymaker of a punch. "KATON!" * Kurt slams his flaming fist forward as he finishes screaming, "AKURYOKU NO JUTSU!" [The wolf leaps out of the way, as the flame contributes to the small bonfire currently building on downed tree. He comes down clawed hands first slamming Arktos into the tree which contains the metal man's sword.] * Wolf then grabs the burning root system, lifting Arktos with it in the air, and tries to bring the whole ensemble crashing down on Maggie. "I said, NO SILVER!" [Maggie feels the brush of a good number of branches as the tree comes crashing down, on the upside, she doesn't feel the tree trunk itself, which Arktos certainly appears to, as he's apparently out cold, pinned beneath the tree.] [Red!] * Red fires! ~... holy fucking shit!~ Nice dodge! ~Hey, y'all might wanna have a fire crew on the way!~ ~On it.~ * Marguerite is panting audibly. ~Are we still *pant* under no-kill *pant* restrictions?~ * Wolf suddenly grimaces drops down to all fours, shaking his head rapidly, he's not actually on the ground yet, but he seems seriously fazed. ~Rules of engagement haven't changed. [Kurt!] * Kurt dashes forward and lashes upward with a rising kick at the bear's chin, or what passes for it. * Wolf receives a solid blow to the chin first and is knocked up from his position. * Kurt brings is foot down from the kick as the bear is launched upward onto its hind legs, then gives it a nice solid kick in the gut. [That solid kick knocks the wolf to his back, he's still breathing, but not moving otherwise.] [Out of init] * Kurt comes to a rest, panting heavily. ~Target neutralized.~ ~I think I've found more holed up. Should I go to you all or proceed to the mansion.~ ~?~ Get some serum in him... quick! * Kurt pulls out the biggest needle available and makes with the stabbity. You got the serum in you yet, Mags? ~Good, keep him down, Red and I will do another pass on town and then help at the perimeter, apparently they're having a bit of trouble.~ [Wolf's breathing continues, but at a slowed base.] [Helicopter flies off.] ~Target injected. Care to direct me to the nearest hot spot?~ * Marguerite , while that's going on, proceeds to pull out the non-tranqed serum and inject herself. "Doing it now." Too close for comfort. ~Oh, and head south for the mansion. It was some ways out of town, but you should hit is easily if you make your way to the coast.~ * Kurt looks over at Maggie. "Want a ride?" * Marguerite shakes her head. "Jesus.... I don't think that got all of it, but we don't got time. Let's go." She stands up. Yeah, I'll probably need one. Feel a little woozy. [Alright, conveniently enough, the three of you meet up at about the same time, bit less than a minute later.] * Kurt scoops Maggie up again, more gently this time, and takes off through the trees to the south. [The mansion is a three story one, with one wing, Victorian style, a bit smaller than late 20th century McMansions for a sense of scale.] [There's a wrought iron 3 meter fence and an old gatehouse, but the main gate has been knocked down so no worries.] [There are a few lights on inside.] * Grysar sets mode: +vv Marguerite Drew You know, this seems more like a place where you'd find vampires, not werewolves. * Kurt sets Maggie down just inside the gate. * Marguerite shakes her head. "Ugh." [There's sound coming from the second story of the wing, and a light on, sounds like a battle and oddly enough music.] Sounds like they started the party without us, Kurt. [Can't quite make out the music well enough to know the song.] Well, that's terribly antisocial of them. * Kurt heads inside. * Marguerite follows, every once in a while making a misstep. * Drew heads in as well. ~Sounds like three~ [You get inside the main door, which has also been torn open, conveniently enough, there's a fair number of options for directions to go...] * Marguerite clips on a laser sight to her gun. [The house is nicely adorned, definitely classy old money, although a bit much on the hunting lodge look if you aren't into that sort of thing.] * Marguerite looks around. "Where from?" [There's a main staircase in front of you that'd probably be the most direct route to the fight. Anyone who makes the check hears a groaning sound coming from the first story of the wing (which would be below the fight)] * Marguerite heads up the stairs? [Oh, and the music is louder now that you're inside, female vocalist, doesn't sound like anything made within the last 10 years or so.] There's wounded down here, I think. Drew, you wanna find 'im while Mags and I investigate upstairs? Okay [** Log Downstairs begins here] * Marguerite ups the steps! * Kurt follows Maggie up, ready to jump ahead at any time. [The two of you make your way upstairs, fairly big central hallway, not hard to navigate, the sounds definitely coming from your left. You can see a parlor and a few bedrooms in your immediate vicinity. At the end of the hallway to your left there's two doors hanging slightly ajar.] * Marguerite motions to the left, looking at Kurt. * Kurt holds up his hand to motion for silence, then practically disappears from view as he advances slowly to peek through the doors. * Marguerite waits by the stairs. [As Kurt gets closer he can now hear the lyrics clearly and can see behind the door three wolves fighting.] [There's one bipedal with a rich black coat of fur, looks quite similar to the one you fought earlier, if not quite as large. On the other hand, he's wearing what looks to be a nicely adorned set of plate mail made to fit his large dimensions.] [He's being attacked by two other wolves, one has a lighter red coat and seems to be in a form that could work as a biped or a quadruped, not as big as the black one.] [There's also a brown quadruped that looks like a beefier version of the ones you fought earlier, but still less of a threat than the red and the black.] [Currently both the brown and the red are attacking the black, they all look like they've garnered a fair number of bruises but despite a large amount of blood spilled on the ballroom floor, they don't look too cut up.] [You also notice another two wolves, of the type you faced earlier, that seem passed out and rather badly beaten.] Cause the joke that you laid on the bed that was me..... [They don't appear to have noticed Kurt.] * Kurt backs up a bit from the doorway and radios out, ~are there any known werewolves in these parts? One that listen to golden oldies and wear armor?~ * Marguerite moves up to be behind Kurt. ~I'll get someone on that, if we had a definite report for this area we'd already have informed you, but that plate armour sounds unusual.~ ~For now let's take the two attackers.~ ~Well, he's probably the owner of this joint. I'm gonna assume he's the good guy here.~ [The red and brown attack at once, the red one actually manages to dent the armour slightly, while the brown is mainly a distraction.] And I'm not gonna fade as soon as you close your eyes and you know it. o/~ * Marguerite looks to Kurt. ~Ready?~ * Kurt brings his hands together in front of him, two fingers upraised on each as he murmurs a quiet mantra, and then fades from sight. ~Guess so.~ [Maggie Black Kurt Red Brown] [Maggie!] * Marguerite steps inside the room, aims for the leg of the red wolf, and lets fly. [For the record, quite a nice ballroom, very suitable for either formal occasions or could be converted for parties, kickass sound system. Oddly enough it looks like a few small objects have been thrown at the system, nothing big enough to damage it though.] [The Red wolf cries out a fairly mournful howl and limps a little, but doesn't fall over.] [Black!] * Black wolf claws at the red one who manages to hobble out of the way just in time. He doesn't seem to have noticed Maggie’s presence yet. [Kurt!] [Red's definitely aware of you, brown, hard to say.] * Kurt appears in front of the brown wolf, leg thrusting straight up at the thing's chin. [Brown wolf yelps in shock as his head suddenly gets knocked up.] * Kurt leaps into the air as the brown wolf is thrown up, appears right in his flight path, and slams him back down to the floor with a nasty crescent kick, then follows him down letting gravity pull him down into a somewhat cruel and unusual landing on the thing's back. And every time I scratch my nails down someone else's back I hope you feel it! Well can you feel it?! ::she sounds like she really wants this guy to feel it:: [Brown with lands with a loud thud and is down, and apparently out cold. The floor takes it fairly well and is only slightly dented.] [Red!] * Red pounces towards the guy who just took down her ally, she doesn't move too fast, but since Kurt's quite close she doesn't really have to. [Kurt turns around just in time but doesn't quite manage to leap back successfully, he now has a deep gash across his stomach although thankfully this wolf doesn't seem to be as strong as the one they previously faced. Aw, SHIT. [Even so, still hurts pretty bad. Oddly enough the red wolf then just parks almost expectantly at Kurt and rather than moving in for the kill urns to attack the black wolf again.] Kurt! You alive? I'm alive, I'm alive. Gotta put this fellow down quick, though. Working on it. [The black wolf takes a hit on the back of his leg, by passing his armour.] [Maggie, Drew, Black, Kurt, Red] [Maggie!] * Marguerite spins to face the red wolf, and shoots for the leg again. * Red wolf leaps out of the way and makes a shaky landing a few feet to the left, doesn't collapse though, although the leg looks like it was threatening to do so. Some of her earlier wounds seem to be healing, but not the one in the leg.] [Drew! Who gets up in time to attack] And I'm here to remind you of the mess you left when you went away! o/~ * Drew bounds up the walls and stairs to see how the fight is going [Drew sees Maggie up, Kurt scratched, a black werewolf in plate mail whose looking alright, and four downed brown wolves, one of whom Kurt is near.] [Drew has time to attack.] * Drew moves up to the black werewolf and attempts to grapple it so Maggie can try something [Black wolf easily muscles his way out of the grapple, he's not that agile in that armour, but he's still quite strong.] [Attacking around armour penalty is +4 for the record, it covers front and back of his chest, and front of his legs and arms.] ~Turns out there is a serious of consistent credible rumors about an armoured werewolf family. Apparently quite low contagion and not known for murderous rampages, so they haven't been an investigative priority.~ * Drew rebounds and attempts another hold [He gets one on the black beast this time.] [Black's turn!] [Black initially struggles in effectually against the hold but then manages to break through and turns on Drew.] [Drew gets clawed and slammed into the Red wolf, who gets knocked over and yelps. It hurts, but drew thinks he'll survive.] [Kurt!] ~Get that wolf with the serum!~ Drew, leave the fuckin' black one alone! ~We do have things mopped up here, need reinforcements?~ * Kurt pulls a pair of massive syringes from his now torn vest, slams one into the wolf he's standing one, and one into his own chest. urgggggg, now you tell me [The brown wolf settles in for a long winter nap, Kurt meanwhile takes the serum and actually feels slightly invigorated. Who'd have figured.] [Red wolf!] * Kurt yanks the syringe out of his chest and tosses it on the floor. "oooooh yeah. I thought they said this stuff would do a number on us." Must have gotten a light dose. * Red wolf focuses on the girl that shot her with silver, werewolves really seem to hate that. She bounds towards Maggie only to lose her footing, she manages to leap up from the prone position though and Maggie needs to dodge. * Maggie gets knocked on her back by another clawing, rather hurts a bit and cuts through her armour deeper than the first one, however, she's certainly still conscious. And you hear a helicopter coming up to the mansion yay for reinforcements. [Red!] Ow! Shit shit shit shit shit... [The Red wolf is knocked down by the Red sniper let that be a lesson about cramping style.] [Maggie then Drew!] ~Red, is the other red one out for the night?~ ~He's down enough that you can focus on fur-and-armor there. That was a rough shot, tho, so I can't make any guarantees.~ * Female vocalist finishes the chorus to 'You oughta know', and the song loops from the top. * Drew moves in on the armored one, yet again, and goes for a called shot clawing on a non-armored area * Marguerite stands up, wounds starting to fade. She's also starting to look pretty shaggy and wolfen, and she's definitely growling. She turns to the red wolf, and pounces! How awkward. [Red wolf takes a hit and whimpers slightly from the ground.] Oh shit. [Drew!] ~I've got her, Kurt. You focus on the armor dog.~ [The black wolf's accumulated a fair number of hits the past round and doesn't quite dodge out of the way in time, so he gets a nasty gash on the unprotected part of arm.] * Drew swings around to attempt yet another hold... this time to let Kurt attempt a hypo move [Drew then manages to get a hold of the black armoured baddie.] [Black!] [Black manages to break through of Drew's hold, but isn't not with enough spare time to attack.] [Kurt!] I want you to know, that I'm happy for you. I wish nothing but the best for you both. o/~ ::She doesn't really sound credible:: ~Right. So I'll hit blackie, then I'll shoot the bloody radio while you deal with Maggie. Sound good?~ * Kurt holds his right hand straight out to his side as he pants heavily. He sounds quite exhausted, and doesn't even really have the energy to properly shout the attack name as his fist ignites. "Katon... Akuryoku no Jutsu." He charges forward at the still recovering black wolf, fist charged and ready. [Black wolf's steps out of the way as Kurt charges by and torches the stereo.] * Kurt pulls his hand from the flaming ruins of the stereo. "...oops." * Black wolf pants less heavily and seems to be relaxing a bit. "Bitch put it on loop... finally over. My stereo!" ::Then he looks pretty bloodly lusty again:: Hey, we're all friends here. Government agents, dude! Chill! [Red (the sniper)!] * Red aims, but waits for him to respond to Kurt, first. If he doesn't, then she shoots. Is the government getting me a new stereo? [Maggie!] ~Tell him 'Yes', Kurt. I'll even pay for it myself, if he'll just stop fighting.~ Yes! ~He can probably help with Maggie, if he surprises us and turns rational.~ A new one! Bigger and better! * Black seems to be relaxing a little. * Marguerite is looking more wolfen by the second, and seems satisfied she's proven dominance over Red... sadly, though, there's other people in the room. Can't be the alpha till you kick all their asses! She leaps for Kurt. [Maggie knocks Kurt over and lands on top of him, with fresh scratches adorning his torso, he's *barely conscious* but given the bleeding probably won't be for long!] [Rd!] [Red!] * Red pops Maggie in the neck with a tranq dart. Damn... * Red does not do that, after all. [Maggie easily avoids that attack, oh and the wounds she acquired before are healing up nicely.] [Drew!] * Black watches that and continues in a deep voice. "Well, good luck with her." He then starts to slink off. [Oh and to save time, I'll let Drew and Kurt attack simultaneously, since they're both next.] * Drew quickly moves over to pull Mags off of Kurt, and will try to hold her for Red [Maggie successfully wards Drew off with her rapidly sharpening nail hands.] * Kurt brings is legs up and thrusts them upward at Maggie, but doesn't have enough leverage, or strength, left to hurt her. * Drew growls "I really need grappling practice" as he tried yet again to remove her from Kurt * Black wolf completes slinking off, leaving his busted ass stereo and the ballroom behind. [Maggie can feel the wind as Drew goes by her.] [Red!] * Red takes another shot. [Maggie falters... but stays up. For the record I didn't even increase her HP. @_@] [Maggie!] * Marguerite turns to face the window... then leaps through it for the helicopter. [Maggie breaks through the window in a shower of glass swinging her claws for the bedeviling sniper whose making her feel really sleepy! But her claws come up short and she's left clinging to the rails underneath the copter. The pilot was able to get up, but not quite fast enough. [Drew and Kurt!] GRR! Kurt, you're okay right? I'm alive. I mean no "grr" urges? * Kurt goes flying out the window right after Maggie. * Drew lunges out of the window at the helicopter [As the two of you land of the copter it flies up and moves over the roof of the house.] [Kurt and Drew successfully knocks out Maggie who falls down to the roof of the mansion. Kurt then manages to cling on tight to the rails of the helicopter even though he's feeling like he's about to pass out.] Holy fucking shit, somebody pull me in, I'm gonna fall. * Preston reaches over the side to grab him. * Kurt comes the closest to actual panic he's ever been since the last time someone threw him in a pool. * Red does likewise! [Kurt gets brought into the copter, where he'll probably take a nice nap. Preston goes for a first aid kit.] And not to be a bother, but could someone make sure she and the red one stay down. * Red is breathing heavily. "We need to set down on the mansion so I can administer the cure to Mad Dog. And then the red one, yes." I think my teammate is the more dangerous of the two, frankly. [Helicopter comes in low over the roof, not quite a landing but not hard to jump out.] * Red hops out and gives Maggie her shot. * Preston gets to tending to Kurt’s multiple wounds. * Kurt has a nice nap, thank you very much. * Red would help, but she's busy curing. [Maggie seems down for the count. * Marguerite is taking a nice nap too! * Red heads down to the ballroom however she can and goes over to the red wolf. ~Should I cure this one, or just administer more tranq?~ ~Try the cure, can't hurt.~ * Red does that, then. "Any other puppies needing their shots? It looks like Blackie buggered off." "Not that I know of." ~No think we're good, and from our research branch, looks like Blackie isn't the highly contagious sort.~ ~Good for him. I'm sure it makes 'is parents proud.~ "I'm just glad there are less people that have to deal with this now." (motions to himself) * Red has a seat on the floor. ~Well. I believe I've had enough excitement for one day.~ [End!]
