[Time: October 13, 2020. 1:34 AM.] [The three of you had expressed an interest in investigating Mak, and so when Mi-5 was called in to clean up after his first known major hunt in Britian the three of you were notified.] [Up to you how you were occupied at the time.] [The scene is a skyscraper in London. The surrounding street has been shut down and has a heavy police/Mi-5 presence. They've been told your coming.] [There's a hole in the thirteenth floor of said buiding. Big enough to drive a truck through. The side of the building below the hole is adorned with a good number of scortch marks.] [Start] (Greg? Nobody numbers the thirteenth floor of a building.) ( Not true. ) ( That's only in older buildings. ) (It's on the outside) (You don't know what it's labelled on the inside) (I guess that works) ( Besides, it doesn't matter if you call it the thirteenth floor or the eightieth, it's still the damn thirteenth. ) ( Yup. ) ( You could call it the Cock Clan Sushi Parlor (Motto: We Give It To You Raw) for all it matters. ) (So, is there timestop service to nearby, or are we on our own for transportation?) (There's a nearby subway) * Tim walks up the street from the Subway station with his arm around one of the most beautiful women on the world. A few days ago he dyed his hair again to green with white tips, and he's put on a leather jacket against the cold. ( So where's Yvonne? ) ( Zing ) (That is Yvonne.) (Poor her, there's somebody somewhere, who poured more CP into appearance.) * Yvonne doesn't seem to mind the cold so much. She's dressed in her usual outfit. * Kurt isn't there yet. * Tim looks around for Mi5 agents and the like... and then glances up at the hole. "... Oouch... remind me NOT to stand still for whatever did that." * Yvonne nods. "Maybe Mak can summon trucks. You know, Mak trucks." * Kurt comes skidding out of an alley to a halt on the other side of Tim from Yvonne. "What's up? I came as soon as I got the call." * Yvonne waves. "Hihi!" * Tim points at the hole. "That is... Kinda looks like something you'd do doesn't it?" * Kurt blinks and looks up at the building. ...impressive. * Tim nods. (Can we tell from here if it was blown out of or into the building?) [A brown haired heavy-set female Mi-5 agent walks up to the three of you. "Here already? Timely for mercs. We've got a john doe demon. No identity on him or known prior association with earth, so we're calling him Balrog based on his looks. Neighbors had phone in the fight.] (inside to outside based on the distribution of glass outside.) * Rowyn has joined #sab2020 * Tim nods at the agent. "They see anything?" * Yvonne peers up at the hole. "Did he make that?" * Agent begins to lead you in through the crowd of officers. "Just indications of a battle and yes he did, but he had help. When we arrived on seen ::she looks at a clipboard:: Mak, odd spelling and pronunciation there but whatever, was apparently baby sitting five executives who worked in the building and run- away kid." ( scene :P ) (Yes) * Tim nods again. "Is he still around?" * Agent shakes her head. "The executives declined to press any property damage charges and the law doesn't protect summoned demons. He also knew some of the old crazy demon hunting statues Cromwell instituted so he knew we had nothing to hold him on." * Kurt shrugs. It's a demon. Uh... You mean Thomas Cromwell or Oliver Cromwell? [Agent finishes leading you through the gaggle. There's a corpse about the size of a mid-size sedan covered in three different sheets.] * Tim snaps his fingers and then blinks. "Didn't they repeal everthing he did when the monarchy was restored?" Oliver. And most everything. They just amended this one to take out the crazy anti-Catholic ranting. Anyways we're holding the five executives on suspicion of kidnapping until we can bring in a somebody trained to properly question the kid. Huh. Can I speak to the execs? They've already called their lawyers and have refused to say a damn thing. Not even willing to speak in their own defense. Bah. * Agent then walks over to an evidence cart guarded by a priest in body armor. "One other thing of note outside the building. Mak turned these five items over to us. Said we could do what we liked with them but he recommended taking great care. What were they doing when you found them? * Yvonne peers at them. * Kurt hops curiously over to the "evidence" * Tim looks at the things. [The five items are opaque boxes. They're form varies, two pentagons, two squares, one hexegon. They're all opaque and big enough to hold fist. The seems to ccontain blackish/brownish ichor. Everybody give me an occult (spirits/demons) roll against soul and one against mind.] They were huddled together in clear view of Mak. Seems he put the fear of something into them. Probably the fear of Mak. Guy's definitely good. * Tim nods. "That or he told them what's in the boxes." What's in them? Maybe hats? You know? Priest here just said 'bad vibes.' * Priest looks put out. "That wasn't what I said at all." I summarized. ( "I said bad mojo" ) * Tim points at each in turn starting with noe of the pentagons. "Death. Death. More death. Yet more death. And more death. It's like somebody was collecting them." (one) * Priest nods. "Want me to call in an Anglican demolition squad? We may want them for evidence purposes. * Yvonne frowns. "I was hoping for pie." It's probably a better idea to lock them up as tight as you can possibly manage. They'll eventually get out, but destroying them is probably a tossup. * Priest says with a reasonable amount of pride. "The demolition squad does deal with this sort of thing professionally." * Kurt shrugs. * Tim nods. "And before something else shows up looking for them... It's too bad they'll never say what they were trying to do with all this." Call me if whatever's in there gets out. Until then, it's not my business. I don't want to talk to them about what they were doing, though. * Yvonne folds her arms. "Hmmm." * Agent looks to Yvonne to see if she has an opinion. She then glances to Kurt. "Going to ask about Mak?" Yeah. If they won't talk, though, I'm gonna head upstairs. Do we know if it was Mak or the demon that went through the wall? Demon. Mak may have been along for the ride though. * Tim looks up at the hole again. * Yvonne folds her arms behind her head and glances up at the hole. She casually remarks, "Bet I could get them to talk." And they won't talk about him, we tried, the fear of Mak is strong in them. Anyways, key points in the building. Mak apparently went in and headed to the basement first. Then went up to the thirteenth floor. Unfortunately no security cameras in the basement and the ones on the thirteenth were turned off. He then went back in the first and back to the thirteenth and left with the execs. * Tim smirks. "I wouldn't take that bet against you." * Priest glances through a dog-eared handbook. There was some building security present. When he arrived they decided to take the night off. We're currently trying to hunt them down but they won't have been here for the fight. * Tim looks at Kurt. "So, to the basement or do you have a few more questions?" Nah, no questions. Wonder what was so important in the basement. dunno, that's why I wanted to go look. * Kurt strolls off along the street towards the front doors. "Then let's go have a look, already." Civil law allows for entry into evidence of destroyed malign artifacts so long as three judges are present to witness it. But said artifacts can't connstitute the whole of the case. Good plan. [And there's sliding doors to get in.] Where are these executive guys? In case we wanna talk to 'em later. Why didn't you just say so. Call the team. And they're in a holding pen downtown. 'Kay! [So you get down to the basement. There's dull cement walled cooridors and a range of maintenance facilities and the like. There's a few police down here and they acknowledge you as you arrive.] * Yvonne waves to the policemen. * Kurt takes a look around for obvious signs of Mak having been here. Like, y'know, GAPING HOLES IN THE WALLS. [One of them waves back enthusiastically. Another is in a fairly zoned out patrol mode and doesn't really seem to care.] (Give me awareness checks Kurt. Architecture helps) * Tim does the looking around thing too. * Yvonne walks over to the receptive policeman. "Whatcha doin'?" [Kurt, svelte ninja that he is, does some quick wandering and finds a section of the building seems to have been walled off. Electronics check! -4 For Kurt. And give me that roll Tim.] Well established that crazy shit happens repeatedly in places like this. So we're keeping an eye out with orders to call in backup and run like hell if we see anything out of the ordinary. Oh. [Tim doesn't find any other architectural oddities.] [Kurt notices a fuse box on one of the walls bordering the inaccessible room isn't apparently connected to anything.] Jinkies. * Tim looks at the wall. "See anything that looks like a doorkn... that's a yes." Is it just me or is that fusebox not connected to anything? * Policemen nervously glances over to Kurt. "Is that a sign I should call in backup and run?" * Kurt ambles over to the fusebox and takes a quick look around the outside for any interesting markings. Um, not yet. You might wanna stand back, though. Depends on what's in there. * Yvonne wanders over. "Ooh." * Policeman nods and stands back. "Right. We've just been told that discretion is the better part of not dying in the most horrible ways imaginable." [Awareness roll for anyone looking at the fuse box. Electronics help.] That's absolutely true. Just stand back and let the expendable mercs do the stupid shit. * Policeman smiles and gives a salute and finds cover. 2d8-4 ( err... oops ) [Kurt verifies that the box isn't trapped. Yvonne and Tim notice that it's thicker than a normal fuse box should be. Thicker by like an inch.] * Kurt shrugs. Hmm, bets on a false backing? Get ready to dive for cover, I'ma pop this thing open, see what comes out. Doesn't look trapped, but better paranoid than dead. You ready, Tim? * Tim nods. Go for it. * Kurt reaches up and gently pops the box open. [Kurt discovers fuses! And a largely inlegible guide to which fuse supposedly goes to what. Illegibility required by law.] [Awareness checks again. Or just guess what to do next. ;P] * Kurt reaches up and tugs at the back of the box with any convenient handhold, figuring the fuses are just a screen for the important shit. * Tim walks over to the box and looks for a way to move the fuses panel. [Kurt is correct! There's a inverted pentegram with what looks to be a key hole at each of the five points. Each of these points is filled with a dull grey key that's mostly notable for it's stubby end (seeming to use the minimum amount of material possible) and it's lack of any arcane decoration.] [The keys are all presently vertical.] (it's->its) Okay, I'm totally not the occulty sorta person here. Any idea what the hell this is for? Is this like, the magical fusebox or something? Magic on, magic off? [Also of note, the pentegram has been scratched over with dull grey material. Similar to that which the key is made of.] * Yvonne shrugs. Turn them in the right patten and the door opens would be my guess. [Oh, and anyone who wants to give me an occult or fashion or pattern recognition check. -4] Or a portal to hell. * Policeman looks nervous some distance away and behind cover. * Tim points next to one of the keys. "Somebody wrote down something about the places... but all the keys look the same." [Now that Tim points it out, you can see that each of the five points has a different distinctive marker. Although the pentegram is scratched out so hard to make out too many details.] I bet they're fake. * Kurt shrugs. "Doesn't really matter, I think. The pentagram's been scratched out, so it's probably useless now." * Tim looks at the wall. "Well, I could try it the insane way." It's the same sort of failsafe system used by governments and conspirators. Can't access the thirteenth floor without all five there, or something like that. I wonder if they've still got their keys on them or if the cops took them away. The keys are in the lock. But they're fake. Want me to call in to check on their possessions? * Tim points at Yvonne. "She says fakes." How do you know they're fakes? * Tim turns the the Policeman. "Yeah, see if they had any strange keys on them." * Policeman radios it in. 'Cause. * Tim looks back at the pentagram and keys. "Any ideas on what these are made out of anyway?" And yes. We have at least two keys. They were poorly hidden. We're presently taking a closer look a their possessions and then their cavities. ::LIstens to the radio:: (Metalurgy rolls!) See? * Tim looks back at the Policeman. "There should be three more." Wouldn't be surprised if they were lead. Apparently these keys are like something out of those old school Resident Evil games they showed us when instructing us not to be a hero. Gems and skulls. ::Checks radio:: And they found two in hidden compartments in wallets. And they're starting the cavity search. * Yvonne nods. "Prolly." She actually says 'Prolly'. And.. eww.. that's five. I really don't want to know. * Policeman frowns. "Neither did I." I can guess... how long will it take them to get here? Half hour. * Tim snorts and then turns to give Yvonne a hug and kiss. "Good call!" * Yvonne beams at Tim. Get a room. Although we do have guys on the thirteenth floor. So either it's already unlocked or this opens something else. * Tim lets go of Yvonne and taps on the wall. "There's something back here, but that's not why we're here." Let's go see what Mak did the the thirteenth floor while we wait for the keys. * Yvonne nods. But we should see what's back there anyhow. (FF to thirteenth floor?) ( K ) (sure) [A few minutes later you're on the thirteenth floor. The policeman by the elevator says that the fight apparently started in a boardroom and then proceeded through some offices and then left by the side of the building. He gives you directions on how to get to all three.] [And architecture check.] [As he gives the directions you all realize that the boardroom would be directly on top of the that walled off area. Albiet probably larger than the walled off area, which was three meters by three meters or so. (Greg? I thought it was a side of the basement that was a bit short, not something in the middle of the room...) * Retrieving #sab2020 modes... ( "Side" is kinda nebulous when you're in the basement. ) ( Who says the board room is in the middle of the building? :P ) (Yeah. Well not as defined as three by three by three then) (And yeah, board room has windows. ;P) * Tim goes to the boardroom! * Yvonne boards up the Go room! Er... goes to the boardroom! * Kurt follows along, figuring that there'llprobably be plenty of signs when they're close. [The boardroom has what once was a nice center table with a not so nice pentegram chalked into it. The pentegram and table are both not in such great shape at the moment, but you can make an awareness -occult roll for details.] [On one of the walls there's a discolored area about the size of a nearby whiteboard that's lying on the floor. In the middle of the discolored area are restraints that would easily hold a child. The restrainst have all been sliced at the left edge.] * Kurt winces. [The view screen has a powerpoint presentation currently slowing a slide with martini glass clip art and a big text that says "Congratulations on another ten years!" Now, I'm no expert on this sort of thing, but isn't faking a chunk of a pentagram a REALLY bad idea? ... Which is probibly why the demon is currently out on the street and dead and not doing whatever it was they wanted it to do? I'm more concerned about the child sacrifice. I mean really, what are demons gonna do with a kid? Corrupt an innocent soul, maybe? Talk about your evil corporations. Now virgin sacrifices... but then again, thye're not much good if they're dead. (Well, the kid was presuably a virgin) * Tim looks at the restraints. "Eat the kids soul, drink its blood, that sort of thing maybe?" (-its + his) [Other details. Good number of fire marks around the room. There's also some impact marks on the wall. They have some ichory bright orange blood. One of these dents is actually a hole that you can see through to the offices from.] [There's also a series of char marks in the floor. Big footprint sized ones.] * Yvonne shrugs. "I guess if that sort of thing turns you on..." [And by big I mean bigfoot. But not T-rex.] * Tim looks at the burn marks. "Well, looks like it was on fire... but I don't see what Mak was doing to it." Throwing it into stuff maybe? Maybe. [Two of the dents are human sized, but most look more demon sized. (Which is the one through the wall?) (Architecture roll. But it's clearly big enough for the demon to get through) * Tim walks over to the big hole in the wall and looks at the bits. Then he blinks and looks at them again. "... Oh joy." Huh? Hmm? * Tim points at a human sized chunk of rubble in the next room. "Either the demon put most of it's leg through the wall first and then knocked the rest of it down, or I'm going to fight a guy who can survive getting slammed through a wall by a burning demon." [There are blood marks on the rubbel. And going into next room description.] [There's essentially a whole bunch of cubicles. A good number of cubicle walls have been knocked down leading up to the hole in the side of the building.] [There's a good number of parallel scortch marks by the human sized rubble.] [They all point towards the big hole in the wall.] [Oddly the flaming footprints stop about two steps into the next room.] [And awareness checks. Give me ones for gun combat and melee combat.] [+2 penalty each. Against mind.] ...a whip? Sexy [Interestingly beyond the ones on the rubble you don't see any more of the flame marks in this section of the room.] [There are still depressions in the floor from where the beastie walked. So it does appear to have pursue.] What kind of freak uses a flaming whip? Aside from the pyrofreak, I mean? A fire demon who's no getting anywhere with with the burning body thing? * Tim walks through the hole in the wall and looks around. * Yvonne follows. * Kurt hops through the hole. * Tim looks back at the wall. "... The hell?" * Tim runs back into the board room. * Tim walks back to the cubical side while shaking his head. * Yvonne looks from here to there. "I think... That he went through all the walls at once?" You've gotta be kidding me. [The wall knockdown is fairly linear, but could also be consistent with a sustained battle.] * Tim walks back. "Okay. how does a plaster wall stop bullets but doesn't totaly flatten a guy getting pushed through it?" [There are indeed bullet holes in the wall. They're near the top so they could have it a crossbeam. Though that still doesn't have all that much stopping power.] [And anyone looking at them can give a gun roll, or a police science -4 roll.] (If you have police science) * Tim frowns at one of the bullet holes and then snaps his fingers. * Tim small lump of grey metal in his hand. "Don't tell anybody 'bout this kay?" Huh? (And anyone examining the bullet holes, tell me if you make) (And anyone looking at the bullet can give a seperate gun/polic sci roll for that) (And let me know when you get to the hole in the wall.) * Kurt follows the trail, looking to see where the fight goes next. [The fight zigs and zags through the cubicle. About at the hole in the wall the burning footprints resume and replace the non-burning footprint dents.] * Tim peers at it. "Huh, it's the same stuff as the fake keys... Wonder if that means Mak's the one who made the pentagram in the basement." * Yvonne pokes at the metal Tim's holding. "Hmmm..." * Yvonne nods. "He must have made the fakes to open the locks, too. But why an upside down pentagram? * Yvonne winces and pulls back her finger. "Ow!" Beca... Ack! You alright. [There's a scrap of dull grey metal about three meters back, opposite the hole in the wall. It's been cut in half with obvious melting at the burn point.] * Tim closes his hand around the bullet. (questionmakr on the end of Tim's line ^^;) * Yvonne nods. What happened? I think I'm holding an anti-demon bullet. * Kurt blinks and comes back a bit. "May I?" * Kurt holds out one hand. * Tim holds out his fist and then opens it to roll the thing into Kurt's palm. Hmm. Wonder what it's made of. Bears investigating. [So just to put together what Kurt saw. There's flaming footprints right in front of the big hole in the building. About three meters away from that there's a slab of the dull grey metal that's been sliced in two with molten marks.] This doesn't really make any sense, though. What in the world hit that demon hard enough to put it through a concrete wall? * Tim nods. "I'm going to put that one back into the wall, so when we come back with the three judges, and two cops and a partrige in a pear tree it's we're good to take it home with us." * Kurt tosses the bullet back to Tim. 'Kay. Sure, just make sure I get one. I'm a big fan of metal. [The bullet vanishes before it reaches Tim.] Sure. * Tim moves on to the hole to outside. "Dunno... Might be something on the body that'd give us a clue." (er Dunno about what hit the thing) (So you guys wanna fastforward down there. You done up here?) ( Sure ) (I can't think of anything from what we've got) ( Yah. ) [And you get back to the ground floor.] [Evil creepy container things are gone.] * Agentlady is on the phone. "Yes, we will apprecaite your full cooperation. And yes, I think this does violate their contracts morality clause." [Body is still there under sheets.] * Kurt waves at one of the agents and calls out, "Hey, can we take a look at the demon?" * Agent nods and keeps talking. "Yes, we'll pass on that their fired." * Tim tries not look too much like he's evesdropping on the Agent on the phone. Well, we haven't confirmed what rituals they were using, but if he was staying young by magical means he is a bastard for mocking you about losing your hair. * Tim starts to faceplam but catches himself and scratches at his forehead instead. * Yvonne pats Tim on the back. "Well... hairloss is no laughing matter, you know..." And yes, of course you're not saying that's morally equivalent to sacrificing humans. [Another agent comes along and uncovers the demon for you.] [And gives you five wicked looking keys.] [The demon looks pretty much like a balrog. Except for being orangish.] * Tim nods. "Maybe I'll get implants when I'm old or get somebody to find a hair restoring spell, people have been getting old since the begining of time, somebodies' got to have one somewhere." [Oddly enough there's a cloth fin seet of metal below the cloth sheets. There's also a string at each of the four corners.[ (Fin seet?) ( fine, I think, referring to the thickness. ) (thin) (I'm an idiot. ;P) (Thin sheet?) (er sheat isn't it?) (Right) There was a lady who had a spell for that once. Well, to make her hair longer. And she got kidnapped and put in a tall tower. And this guy came to save her and tried to climb up the tower using her hair but he pulled it all out. [There's a good number of eight centimeter by one centimeter burn marks on the creatures skins.] [Also a couple bullet wounds.] [No other signs of weapon use.] [The thin sheat is made of the dull grey material.] ... That always seemed like a stupid way to get into a tower anyway. * Yvonne nodnods. (AgentLady still talking on the phone?) (She's wrapped up) * Tim walks over to body and nods at the bullet holes and then blinks when he notices the burns. * Yvonne takes a close look at the sheet. That... wait... how do you burn a fire demon? [The bullet marks also show the burn signs.] That's easy. Cold. But... there wasn't any sign of anything else getting hit by cold up there. [When Yvonne moves the sheet off the beasty it catches the air and shows itself to have three parallel rectangles.] ( Not me <.< ) (Err, just looking right.) (Uhm... why would Yvonne touch the metal that burns her?) (Never mind) Maybe it's cold iron, or something. * Kurt pulls the sheet up a bit. [Rewrite: When Kurt moves the sheet he finds it tends to catch the air and has three parallel rectangular bulges.] [It is in no way attached to the beasty, although there's low degree burn (more like a rash really) where the sheet was touching the balrog's skin) Hey, where'd this sheet come from?] [It was under the white sheets above the balrog.] (He's asking the agents) We aren't sure. It was left lying on top of the beast. Actually flapping around and kept catching the wind before we covered it over.] [One other note. There's strings running from all four corners. The strings are fairly thick and look like they could sustain some weight.] * Tim looks at the Agent-lady. "Nobody saw this thing fall out of the building right?" [The corners that are only one meter apart are seperated connected. So really it's just two strings.] Maybe it's a weapon. Well, we had a few conflicting accounts. One saw just the beast fall but said it had grey wings. One saw a beast and a grey angel, and one gal apparently completely was in denial about the balrog and thought it was an extreme sporting stunt. Witness accounts aren't too reliable in these cases. [And to keep things moving, anyone who wants give me a mind roll and tell me the margin.] [As I think my description is somewhat lacking. ;P] * Tim looks back at the sheet. "He's got... a metal parashute?" More like the ultimate in shield bashing. I think he fell with it. Or skysurfing. [Sky surfing and parachuting fit. The thing is extremely light. And would explain how someone was able to walk away from a thirteen story fall. ^_~] ( Of course, so would knowing that the guy went through several walls, too :P ) [Okay, and anyone who wants give me an unarmed or police skill roll against mind.] * Tim shakes his head and looks at the bits of the beasty that were covered. (That helps too. But all the walls and stories do add up.) [More of the thin markings. No more bullet holes.] [Okay, looking closer at the eight centimer by one centimeter burn marks all of you notice four indentations.] [They're evenly sized.] * Tim looks at the Agent-lady again. "Did any of them say if the demon was on fire when it fell?" * Kurt laughs. No, the poor fucking thing was probably mostly dead by that point. I almost feel sorry for it. It sure picked the wrong motherfucker to mess with. * Tim looks back at Kurt. "Why do I get the feeling that I'm not going to like what you're about to tell me?" * Agent points to the burn marks on the way down. She also kicks an arm and shows a burn mark underneath it.] See these depressions? * Kurt points to depressions in each of the 8cm strips. * Tim nods. "If you're going tell me that's from a set of brass knuckles I'm going to be very afraid." Those are knuckle marks. Mak punched this damn thing to death. Well, the bullets helped, too, but he's packing demonbane brassk knucks. ...Okay, I'm afraid. Wonder why he didn't use a sword. Because swords are too easy to break. Especially if they're made of the wrong sort of metal. This metal's probably too soft to make a good sword. * Agent nods. "True enough." But it's plenty good for coating a fist and adding a little burn to your punch. The good news, Tim, is that unless Yvonne's been rubbing off on you, you're not going to have to deal with any extra burn. The bard news is that you're plenty vulnerable to this guy just pounding your face until it doesn't exist anymore. ( The bard news! XD ) And he's strong enough to punch a demon through several feet of concrete. And he's got a gun. That too. Yeah... but unless he's as fast as you are his gun's the only one of these things I have to worry about. Tim, it doesn't matter if he's fast if he's smart. And it's a pretty good bet he'll be both smart and prepared. (So you guys got keys. FF downstairs?) ( K ) * Tim nods. "I'm going to have to come up with something new to hit him with, it looks like he'll just shrug off what I've got now and he'll learn from Angel. Shit. " As my grandfather used to say, intelligence and preparation can substitute for almost any amount of skill and power. [And you guys work your ways back to the basement and can keep talking.] How about explosives? * Tim walks and talks at the same time! "Yep, I'll just have to find something he's not prepaired for." I'm a big fan of both fire and explosions. But if you don't have any experience with them, you're asking for a fatal fuckup. Well, fire doesn't seem to have helped that demon any, and my track record with exploseves... is less than steller, but my aim's gotten better since then. * Yvonne snaps her fingers. "I got it! You ... no, wait, nevermind." I'll think of something. But for now let's find out what's behind door number one. Sure. So, who only gets one key? * Tim shrugs. "Doesn't matter to me." * Kurt shrugs. "Fine, you each take two." 'Kay Do we have -any- idea which order these go in? Prolly doesn't matter. Fine. * Tim looks at the keys. "Well, there were symbols for something on the box." * Kurt slips his key into one of the keyholes. (Don't you kinda need to take the fakes out first?) ( Sure. Whatever. @_@ ) (Tired ND?) [The key doesn't fit in quite right.] ( YES. ) * Kurt blinks. ...okay, looks like we -can't- fuck up the key placement. Well that's good. Are they labled? * Kurt tries the key in each keyhole, methodically removing each false key and trying his own. No, they're molded differently. [He finds it quickly enough.] [Fits fine.] * Tim waits a moment for signs of DOOM, and then takes one of his to keys and tries to match its design to the ones under the pentagram. [And anyone who wants give me a locksmith roll against mind.] [No signs of doom. He suceeds.] * Tim blinks. "Oooookay... that's just funky." * Kurt shrugs. Get the keys in, we'll all turn at the same time. * Yvonne shrugs and puts hers in. [And to accelerate, you can get them all in without trouble. ;P] * Tim holds up one of his keys and one of the fakes. "Neither of these are the origionals." (Err.. Nope. I described poorly) (Retcon!) (forget I said anything!) * Tim just puts his keys in. Turn on three. One. Two. Three. * Kurt turns his key. * Tim turns keys with both hands. * Yvonne turns hers. [And the gates of hell... stay shut. There's a sound of an ordinary door openning elsewhere in the facility. You can find easily enough that it opens to the blocked off area, but from a different section.] * Yvonne giggles. "This is like a cheesey video game." It is. Somebody's been playing too many bad survival horror games. * Tim looks at Kurt and Yvonne and then lets go of the keys. "Yes... hopefully the boss is dead." [Boss is on the sidewalk. ;P] * Kurt shrugs. "You can hope that if you want. Personally, I'd rather fight it." * Kurt goes looking for the door. [Behind the door is a pit and a ladder.] * Tim doesn't quite so much follow Kurt to the door as commit a parallel search. (You find it fast no point wasting time. ;P) ( Haha. ) Okay, this is just lame. * Kurt walks slowly down the ladder. He doesn't even bother to turn around, he just sorta walks down it like it's a set of stairs. Yes, and since you've got the light, you go first. * Yvonne climbs down the ladder after. * Tim goes down the ladder last. [When you get down there's a dug out area with with small rock slabs along the sides. Mini monoliths. There's a slab in the middle with intricate symbols that has shattered.] Yep, thoroughly broken altar here. * Tim nods. "I am _not_ letting him get close enough to touch me." [The place has a *bad* vibe. These are real old and they weren't the happy fun sort of druids.] [You do notice a cold grey metal hammer and chisel by the alter.] * Yvonne doesn't seem to mind much, though [Uh, mind roll for anyting about breaking stone.] * Kurt blinks. "Oi, Yvonne, c'mere. Touch this hammer, willya?" [There's also a corpse in a robe embedded in one of the walls.] No thanks. [Oddly enough the corpse, normal human sized, is not deeply embedded at all. Relative to the big bad.] [Even accounting for the difference in material.] Let's point the cops and cleaners in here. * Tim looks at the tools. " He... realy likes punching things." (Awareness roll) [And it is a demon corpse, for the record. Like a cute little mini Balrog.] I mean, it looks like he just used these to weaken it a bit and then... Bam! He must be super strong. [And the demon corpse does look like it took at least three or four punches.] [And occult check. And jsut for the record, I'm mostly done, so you guys can sleep soon where appropriate.] I am... So... Not... Letting... him... Touch me. Nah, if he was super strong, he'd have just outright shattered it. Not THAT strong. He's plenty strong. But not THAT strong. * Rowyn has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) * Tim looks at Kurt. "So what do you think he hit it with?" His fist. But he -did- have to weaken it first, or at least break some magical seals or something. So he's not all powerful, as a far as strength goes. That's what I said. * Tim nods. [And one other awarenss check, as I forgot something. ^_^;] * Tim rubs his head. "I guess he coulda broken it so when they tried to use the one upstairs it fell apart...." * Yvonne peers. "Then again... It looks like he's not very good at punching stuff." He missed a couple times. Yeah, you got that, too? He did? Where? * Tim looks. * Yvonne points at some indentations in the dirt near the corpse. "Here and here. And here." He's not as strong as he seems. I'd kill to know how he put a demon through the wall upstairs if this is as deep as his misses go. Maybe the demon put him through the wall, and he brought it with him. Maybe. He wouldn't be the first to take a demon out like that. I did the same to a vampire, a while back. It sounds like both of them went though the wall. Maybe his weapons just do that much extra damage to them... I mean Yvonne barely touched that bullet. * Yvonne stretches. "Well, that solves the mystery. I guess so... I need to find out what he knows about me before the fight though. * Yvonne nods. * Kurt looks thoughtfully at the badly beaten demon. (So, you guys saying anything more to each other?) ( Nope! ) (I think I'm done here.) (Going to collect one of the bullets, and maybe take another look around the thirteenth floor, but that's it for Tim's activities here) Yeah, go ahead and tell the cops about this place, tell 'em to send the cleaners in. I want to think for a minute. * Yvonne shrugs. "'Kay." She heads out. (And Kurt, you want to catch up to the two of them later, or you done?) Sure, if you come up with something, lemmie know, you don't lose anything if I pull off a miricle and take Mak out. * Tim follows Yvonne up the latter. Yeah, I know I can beat you later. ( I'm done. ) (Okay, they'll probably be conspiring, so I guess drop this chan rather than having me start a new one.) * Kurt has left #SAB2020 [And after checking in with the cops you're back on the thirteenth floor.] (Have we got three judges?) [You do. Since it's late I'll just say they're standing by and yawning and drinking coffee. But watching attentively.] * Rowyn has joined #sab2020 * Tim walks over to the hole in the board room. "I want to take one of the bullets that Mak fired for testing by the SAB." * Rowyn is now known as RowynSleepyn (Actually. We can save a little time. For that you just need agent. Destroying stuff takes judges) (So switching.) (Oh, whups) (Nah, Tim doesn't have the power to destroy stuff other than teleporting them into the stratisphier) * Lady agency nods. "We can have it sent over unless you need to transport it yourself for some reason." I'd get it there fast is all. Three hours fast enough? It's easier if we preserve the chain of evidence. * Tim points laizily at all the holes and then somewhat arbitrarily picks the one he grabbed the first time around. "I guess and I'll take this one, if you can arrange it." Can do. Anything else? Well concidering how many of his other things he's left around here, keep your eyes out for set of brass knuckles that look like they're made out of lead. * Lady agent nods, "Will do." I think that's everything for now. * Lady agent nods and heads off to get a team on it. * Yvonne stretches. * Tim looks around for more knuckle impressions. * RowynSleepyn has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) I don't think we're gonna find anything else here. (Awareness check.) Probibly not but I want to make sure he's not actualy strong enough to throw that demon through the wall... (-4 since you're in no rush) [You find a miss or two. Not too many. He's strong enough to put a hole in the plaster apparently, but not knockdown a wall with a single punch type strong.] I mean it wasn't on fire by the that point of the fight but the hole is all scorched. * Yvonne nods. [And the places where he punched the wall don't have scorch marks.] * Tim goes to inspect the hole to the outside. Any burning footprints about? [The burning footprints reappear right about when the demon reached the hole in the wall. And there's the hunk of metal that was sliced in half that had burn marks. (How big was it again?) (Like about the size of a quarter of a metal trash can.) (Meter tall, but only about half a meter wide.) * Tim stares at it. "How on earth did he get this in here... it should weigh a tone." He nudges it with his foot. What? (Gah, sorry, I forgot to give depth.) (It's only like two inches deep.) (So well less than a ton.) (It's another sheet?) (Way thicker than the sheet) (The sheet was like a milimeter thick) * Tim pushes the metal plate harder with his foot. "This. It's not like he could just walk in with this strapped to his back, fight all the way here and then just drop it.: (well half of it anyway) [Plate gets nudged a little, but not a lot.] Of course not. He made it when he needed it. I bet it was a shield. * Tim nods. "That'd make sense, but he'd have to make his bullets and that parashute a long time in advance." Why? Because the cords wern't made out of the same stuff and the bullets were... You need to get the powder in behind the bullets, and it's just not practical to make a reapeating weapon without cartiges. (cords were, but you're right about bullets.) Well, he probably makes the bullets before hand. I dunno about the cords, though. [End]
