[Ren has been called in to assist with the arrest of Paragene executives.] [He's awaiting briefing a van in downtown that will be part of the staging area.] [Saldin then walks in. Warlow looks briefly surprised and then nods. "Glad you could join us. Ren, could you tell Saldin what you found recently while I organize this. I'll follow up with the mission briefing when you're done.] [Date: October 17, 2020 Time 10:00 am.] [Start] * Ren nods at Warlow, then nods at Saldin. "Sure. Short version, found some place related to the Teke family messing with genetic research. Was sealed up off when they forcibly took a vacation, found some monkeys there with similar abilities, place was run by Paragene." * Ren is in a yellow-and-black windbreaker, giving his favored green pleather coat a rest. His hair is messier than usual today. * Saldin looks over at Warlow first, then at Ren. Looks just as bald and white- eyed as normal. "The... Teke family?" Two sisters and a brother that SAB has had dealings with in the past. * Saldin mmms. "So you suspect they had the obvious benefactors." * Ren scoffs. "More like mad scientists." There's a bit of a personal reason I stumbled across the place. There's this song, and it's got focus points. One of the focus points was this site. The site was an underground training facility and prison especially for the teke family. They broke out, brought the place crashing down behind them, Paragene closed up what was left. * Saldin mms quieetly, then, "An interesting thing to be brought into." There's another tie, to one Prescott Endris, D.E.M. AKA the Man in Grey. Don't know what's going on there, but the obvious thing is that Paragene been messing with the trio in unethical ways. * Warlow glances in. "How's it going?" * Saldin smiles at Warlow. "I am being told many things." Fillin' 'em in. * Warlow, "And if you need any of the data you asked for, it's available via the console." She gestures. * Warlow then heads back. * Ren heads up to the console, and punches up the bloodtest results. [He gets them. What's he looking for?] ( Similarities to the tekes. ) [Alright, give me a biological sciences (genetics roll). -6 bonus because some analysis is already included.] (Mostly just a matter of understanding the stuff that isn't written for laymen.) [There's radio chatter in the background. "Units A, B, C, checking in." "Warrants for board members are now in hand." "We have free reign to search." "No. Just secure facilities. Data teams with warrants will be ready later this evening."] * Ren frowns, taking a while reading it. You get the impression that he's wading through the analysis slowly. [Ren reads the analysis and finds that modifications and natural DNA of the telekinetics was used to alter the monkeys. The primary source for the gene therapy appears to have been Magnie, not either of the older siblings.] * Saldin 's head perks slightly at the radio chatter and mms. "It sounds like you have work to do." [He also notes that there's been therapies applied from other sources.] * Ren huhs. "Sounds like. Must be expecting somethin' big if they called us in." [If you strain your ears, you can also hear the sounds of a Paragene stockholders meeting that appears to be wrapping up.] (Remind me, Saldin was on the breaker protection mission, yes?) (The first one? Yes.) ... they were trying to duplicate them. * Ren frowns. These 'Tekes'? Yah. Looks like it. There were three monkeys in the abandoned base, who had similar teke abilities. One of em's still alive, brought blood samples back, gave 'em ta SAB to see what they could see in 'em. Looks like they were trying to duplicate the telekinetics of the trio in the monkeys. ... and maybe some other sources, too. * Saldin licks his lips and says, "An unsavory ideal." [Addressing the board meeting. "In conclusion, as Dr. Roger Mankin's presentation has shown, despite recent setbacks, I can assure you ladies and gentleman that our cutting edge research is no longer in the limbo of testing. We are now inevitably committed to the road to far greater profit." ::applause::] * Ren cocks his head, cueing into the radio chatter. * Warlow returns. "We're getting ready to move. Need any more time, or ready for the mission description?" * Ren shrugs. "Unless ya wanna debate the ethics of playing god at other's expense, I'm ready." Didja ever get the last monkey? Playing god is always at anothers expense. And yes, we did. Took some work. We can discuss it later. * Saldin mms faintly, before saying, "What relation does this Mister D.E.M. have to do with the situation?" That I'm not sure of. I think he's got more ties to the fact that the place was a focus for the song than the tekes. Nothing directly, but we may get more answers once we have the executives and top scientists in custody. We went through proper channels to investigate the site Ren found. We got enough to get more warrants and then proof of major lawbreaking by Paragene. The company's recent failings have made it easier to talk to staff that have already left the company, so our case is tight." * Saldin says, "You certainly enjoy this metaphor of a song." (Second Warlow as well) * Warlow then pauses for a moment. * Ren shrugs. "It's not a metaphor. It's this tune... kinda creepy. I'm chasing it." * Warlow looks quizically at Ren. * Ren closes his eyes, thinks a moment, then hums something soft and sad. * Saldin shakes her head slightly. "Well, you should move..." (Give me a sixth sense check. Saldin.) * Ren continues for a few seconds, before stopping. "That's what we're chasing." * Ren shrugs. "'nyways. We all ready for tha briefing?" * Saldin 's eyes widedn and she says, "Intriguing..." * Ren frowns at Saldin. "Though if you know something, feel free ta share." * RowynEatyn has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer ) * Saldin just says cryptically, "Your tune indeed had a mind of its own." A small smile. "One wonders what it was." * Warlow frowns. "Can't say I recognize it." She listens to Saldin's commentary with interest. * Rowyn has joined #sab2020 * Saldin glances about. "Well, if there further briefing to be had..." Then let's have it. We're going in for arrests. However, they may have a means of escape. Paragene entries and exits into the U.K. have often managed to avoid customs entirely even when coming from outside the E.U. [Warlow calls up a diagram of Paragene's building.] * Ren looks over the diagram. [She also pulls up a series of photographs, mostly executive types with a few scientists. Roger Mankin is one of the scientists listed.] * Warlow points to an area in the basement. "On the blueprints, this section is for storage. However, it has incredible spikes in demand for power that seem to coincide with some of the mysterious entrances and exits." * Ren frowns. "Roger." * Saldin nods very slightly. * Warlow looks over to Ren. "You refering to Dr. Mankin? He's one of our high value targets. We want these people alive. You don't need to subdue them, our teams can do that. Just hold off any exit for a few minutes." You def'nit'ly want Roger. He was there in the facility. * Ren smirks. "Wonder how he made it out of there alive." [Roger Mankin is in his mid-40s going on sixty. The years between that family photo Ren found and his present appearance have not been good to him.] He is a lead scientist for Paragene and has been tied to many of their projects. Quite possibly he wasn't on site at the time. He seems to have been promoted after the escape of the telekinetics. * Saldin quirks a sllm eyebrow. * Warlow then hits a few buttons and the diagram zooms in on the supply area with various access ducts and the like clearly shown. "You can chose your manner of entry. We won't go in until you're in position. Unfortunately, we don't know what's in there, and it's been secured against electronic surveillance and radio or easy mystical communicatio. So exercise due caution." Cheshire can get in 'bout anywhere. * Ren glances at Saldin. "You?" * Saldin smiles weakly. "Such things are not my forte." * Ren nods. "Find a more conventional entry for ya, then." * Ren looks over the map some. Possible if we're fast enough to get into their boradroom with their meeting still on and secure that. (Boardroom) Otherwise we need to put high priority on their basement. First guess is a teleportation system. Could be anything, though, and maybe we can just turn it off. Our people will be working on that end. They have the training to handle it well. They just may not be prepared for what's in there in case anyone gets through. * Warlow nods. How are you going to know when we're in position? [And there's access points via sewers or outside airducts or the like. Apparently some security systems are already de-activated for your convenience.] * Saldin shrugs slightly and says, "If I need to be there, I will find a way." Saldin, pick a route that you can make. Dun worry 'bout me, I'll be able to keep up, and I dun think we want to be at the basement alone waitin' for the other. [Warlow hands both of you a small rod with a button and a clip so it can easily be placed on clothes. "There's too much jamming to send a clear message out even by text. But we should be able to get one short sharp signal through. Press when you're ready."] * Ren tucks the transmitter away, and nods. (And let me know when you walk Saldin) * Saldin smiles slightly and says, "I would not worry too much, Ren. After all. I am not truly SAB." She gestures towards the doors of the van. "After you." * Ren grins. "Same here." * Ren follows a tentative route with his finger, trying to find one that's a) not too long b) not too taxing and c) fairly descrete. ( discrete ) (military (tactics) or burglary roll. ) You've got the conventional exits covered, right? Yes. [He's got a golden route. Even avoids any unpleasant sewer smells.] * Ren taps out the route again, for the benefit of everyone else. "Here's a good path." He stares at it for a moment, memorizing it, then nods. "Ready?" * Saldin looks back for a moment, then nods absently. "Ready." * Ren opens up the van, and steps out, ready himself. * Saldin begins walking casually after Ren! [And the universe apparently wants Saldin in on this job. Both of you reappear in a sizable control room that roughly matches the dimension of the supply room in height and length, but is only two thirds of the width. That leaves about four meters by three stories by fifteen meters unaccounted for.] [You are both on a catwalk on the third story and no one appears to have noticed you yet...] * Saldin blinks and adjusts to her shift in position with her customary aplomb. * Ren pulls out a shotgun during the transition, then blinks, crouching down and looking around. He remarks dryly, "That was fast." * Saldin whispers back, "Speed has little to do with it." [There's three big maps on the wall. One of them is a map of the world with a lot of positions marked. Major capitals tend to be there, but there's also the occassional site in the middle of Australia, Western North American desert, and Antartica.] Destination map. [The second map is stranger. It looks vaguely like a map of the solar system except in stead of planets there's nebulus clouds tht often move in irregular orbit. Occult (extraplanars) roll to better understand.] [The third map almost hurts to look at and seems to combine the two. The earth instead of being a normal sphere, is highly distorted with a series of tunnels running through it. This distortion regularly varies with points both moving into the sphere, being shifted around the surface, or even protruding out.] * Ren eyes the second for a bit. "Weather map? Satellite orbits?" * Saldin replies, "Dimensional connections." A small frown. "And inaccurate at that." A tongue cluck. * Ren looks around for entrances into the place. [There's a dozen people in white coats working the controls. You can hear some chatter. "Need verification on the wormhole." "Safety checks are a go." "Road through perdition established."] * Ren also looks around to see if they have company at all, or any security. ( That answers one! ) [There's an elevator entrance off to the left. Double doors, one elevator is presently going down.] [There are four security goons. They seem to be watching to see if the scientists get worried.] * Saldin mms and says quietly, "They would like to go to Argentina. I believe we should move quickly if you do not want that." * Ren whispers quickly and softly, "Lead." [There's also a set of three sliding doors to the part of the room that is missing on your map. Along that wall there's also a series of windows in front of that door. However, it's pitch dark behind there at the moment. Also allow a vision check at +8. Also, give me a sixth sense roll Saldin.] [More scientist chatter. "Argentina site is readying th thumper." "Remember boys and girls, play this one careful, we've got a lot of holes to manage tonight." * Retrieving #sab2020 modes... ( nix ren's last line. ) (err not tonight, today. Establish the start time as 1 pm.) [Elevator is going to arrive in about ten seconds.] Argentina incoming, elevator coming. Who knows what they'll bring. Can you block whatever the hell it is they're doing, so so Argentina group doens't come in? ( 2nd so = the ) [There's a set of stairs down. There's also a few poles in the room or you could jump on top of one of the mainframes or the like with an acrobatics check. Anyone with wall bouncing has no problem.] * Saldin blinks and says, as she doffs her clothing with almost supernatural speed, "You should consider calling your support... but I can try to block the... transportation." [One of the scientist flicks a switch and the light comes on behind the three sliding doors in the far wall. There's a tram car there. It looks comfortable and surprisingly conventional. You can hear a hum of other lights warming up. And sight check again, +4 penalty, as there's now a bit more light behind the wall. [Incidentally, the security guys have energy prods and tranq rifles. Looks like they're armed in a way meant to not accidentally destroy the equipment.] * Saldin has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer ) [And ten seconds on elevator.] (Pausing for Saldin.) * Ren frowns. "Interfere with the wormholes. I'm gonna mess up the elevator from the inside, then try and turn off the console." * Saldin has joined #sab2020 ( Err. ) * Ren frowns. "Interfere with the wormholes. I'm gonna mess up the elevator from the inside, then try and turn off the console." (Sorry. Any recap?) (Recap sent via message) * Saldin now stands nude! Bwahaha. Ahem. Her amulet begins to glow and she murmurs, "I am attempting." * Ren starts walking at a near-run, not wasting any time. And when he jumps off, it's not Ren anymore, but a ghostly-looking catguy dashing as close to the cieling as he can heading to the elevator... [Init rolls I suppose.] [Ren, Saldin] [Ren go ahead and make your move. Give me a +4 stealth roll, as you're almost guaranteed to draw attention.] * Ren burns air as he heads for the elevator shaft- and dissapears once he get's close to the wall. [Also give me a luck roll for teleporting into the tube.] [Saldin makes contact with an animal intelligence. It actually seems to have a fair amount of mental capacity, but it's brain is wired in a way that doesn't yet employ it. The creature seems agitated at vibrations it is feeling through a sixth sense.] [One of the scientist glances up to where Saldin was dashing and mentions to a fellow. "You see that?" "Naw." "Damn, I had less hallucinations before I started working in this lab."] ( Ren, you mean? ) (I do) (Although nude haluciations also there!) (And glowing way too obviously?) * Saldin attempts to send it the mental concepts of 'Freedom' and 'Escape' and 'Resist', her eyes squinting a little. (Those rolls are next round. There's lots of shinies in this place, so it takes a sec to notice glow.) [Ren carefully plots exactly where the elevator should be and teleports safely on top of it. Or he tries to. Unfortunately his guess is a bit off and he ends up a foot in the air inside the elevator. Roger Mankin and two more Paragene goons look rather surprised to see him.] [And next round, rolling init for the goons.] [Start of round 2...] [In the main room, people one scientist notices the glow from Saldin's amulet and glances up, almost in sync a few others and then the security team looks up. They begin to draw their weapons and a scientist hits a button and klaxons sound.] (Aww. No staring? ;_;) (I wish I'd got Famous today.) [There's some staring, people are still processing the situation rather than firing immediately. Although the more lewd scientist are already jaded on succubi porn.] [And do you want the famous to kick in today? I can.] [In the elevator Mankin starts to dive for the floor as the security guards reach for their prods, but Ren has the init advantage on them.] (Snerk. It'd work! Your call.) [Init: Ren, Mankin's security detail, Mankin, Two security guys, Saldin, remaining two security guys.] [There's a lot of simultaneous chatter in the room.] Hey, isn't she the one that beat Volt. Hey thanks, I made a lot of money on that. You voted against our guy We've got a tourney contender. No, he's a dude. There must be a twin. Didn't you see the action figure set? This one can gender swap. [Ren] * Saldin manages to blink in surprise even through her concentration. * Ren presses the transmitter as he lands neatly, spins, and presses the EMERGENCY STOP button on the elevator. He locks eyes with Roger for just a moment, before dissapearing in a tuft of ghostly fur. [Saldin gets a response of comfort and security mixed with pain from the sides. The freedom concept seems a bit difficult to grasp. Give me a psychology or telepathy usage roll whichever is better.] Shit. He's not one of ours. [And Ren is safely on top of the elevator.] [And the elevator is stopped for the moment. No update on what goes on inside.] [One of the security guys in the draws his tranq gun. The other's eyes go slit like as he draws a prod.] [Saldin!] (And give me that roll Saldin.) (I did.) (Sorry, missed that) [More lights come on in the far room and Saldin can see something very large, cylindrical, and brown beyond the windows. There are large vertical strips that given the size look to have the strength of armored plates.] [The entity begins to grasp freedom and it's food supply begins to pale relative to the pain in its side and the annoyance of the vibrations it senses. It hasn't made up its mind, but it shifts a bit, causing the tram car to shake.] [The scientists are not pleased at this and quickly go to work on their consoles.] [Now Saldin's turn.] * Saldin focuses her concept of freedom into it, murmuring, "Poor thing..." (Give me another roll, -2 from your prior success) (Psych or Power Usage?) [Another security gets out his tranq gun as the fourth runs over to a wall and hits a different emergency button causing a small door in the wall, two feet tall, four feet wide, to begin to open. There's a chittering sound from behind it.] [Saldin kickstarts whole sections of the entities giant brain that had laid dormant. It begins to move fast out of there dragging the tram along with it. Rogue worm! Initiating subdual... No you idiot. We need to get a new one here, let it go! ::There's panicked debate otherwise that's hard to make out::] [Ren again.] [And through the window you can see cables that mind the car to the entity. The cables seem to be operating under substantial stress due to the irregular movements of the creature.] (You being Saldin. These aren't the elevator cables) * Ren glances out, switching out weapons, and plants his feet. Then he lets loose with a full barrage from a heavy assault rifle on the elevator cable. [Ren's bullets rip through the cable causing the elevator to first slip and then freeze as the emergency breaks kick in. Bullets ricochet up the shaft causing a caucophany of sound added to by the sound of the rifle. Give me an acrobatics (balance roll to stay standing) unless you have perfect balance. Stat of choice roll or suffer temporary loss of hearing.] [Stat of choice at +2. As flare.) (err, -2) (Sorry, flare starts at -4, and it's not *that* much louder than a base flare) [Ren's extrordinary resources mean that he stays standing without any trouble. Someone in the elevator wasn't so lucky by the sound of a thump below.] [And as Ren gives me that flare roll, we go back to the first two guards.] [The guard with the tranqualizer shot aims and goes wide. The guard with the prod and odd eyes begins to run and jumps first onto a mainframe and then up to the catwalk. His jump was a bit off, so it looks like he may have an unsteady landing, but he recovers with instinctual ease. However, he did lose the opportunity to attack while he recovered.] [Saldin] [There's a slight ringing in Saldin's ears, but his hearing is otherwise intact.] (You meman Ren. Again.) (Yikes. Okay, I'm goiong to have to start proofing for that) ( I'm not that hard to mistake for a naked, glowing, bald girl, am I? ) * Saldin pushes again on the beast's burgeoning sense of freedom. It's a shame that she can't accompany it with an inspirational 80's rock ballad. Remember, he's a telepath. So put on your tin foil hats people. Damn it, I said the Magneto helmets should be standard issue. Too dorky! [Third guard takes a shot at Saldin as the fourth goes all weird eyed and attempts a repeat of the second's jumping feat. [This shot is well aimed and is a potential hit. The fourth guard is quite lithe and she draws her prod as she lands on the other side of Saldin on the catwalk.] [Two little monkey's crawl out of the doorway the fourth guard opened last turn.] [Round three! Two rounds since warning was sent.] [Ren! (As I work out whether Saldin was hit) [Saldin is hit. Body/Soul roll -4 against incapacitation. The bonus will steadily drop with repeated hits.] [Also, we'll say 11 stun damage.] [Saldin feels drowsy, but his years of monk train long ago taught him to control that urge. * Ren dissapears as soon as he recovers from blasting the cable- appearing in the room side again. He falls against the wall, crouching on it to be still enough for a split second to take a burst at the 4th guard- then falls to the ground the rest of the way. Session Time: Mon Jan 09 00:00:00 2006 [Meanwhile the worm seems completely convinced and prepares to make its way into a new dimension of its choosing. It thinks back to Saldin its thanks and has a helpful tone.] * Saldin smiles and says audibly while thinking, "You're welcome. I'm Saldin Qian." [The worm thinks back its name, which is still more of a concept. One that travels by its own will.] * Saldin can deal with concepts. She's a smart woman. [The guard nearly manages to get out of the way, but apparently never took much training in taking cover. She falls to the ground, although her wounds are visibly healing.] [First two guards.] [Guard one shifts to taking shots at Ren. Guard two rushes up to Saldin swinging his prod.] [Guard four is KO'd for now, but still on the catwalk.] [However, both miss.] [Saldin!] [As a side note, Ren's fire took out one of the catwalk supports. Not enough to make a huge difference yet.] [And with the emergence of the heavy weapons fire, most of the scientists take cover. They don't get combat bonuses.] * Ren smirks as the scientists run. Makes his next goal easier. * Saldin breaks her concentration on the amulet, smiles at the both of them, and then attempts to bounce off of one of them before going to wall-bouncing her way, uh, somewhere! [There are ducks out of here for the record. As established by prior maps. ( ducts? ) (ERr. yes) (Paragene has not been producing evil ducks) ( any attached to the elevator shafts? ) ( not YET. ) [The guard steps out of the way, allowing Saldin to go past. I'll allow a recovery with an acrobatics roll of +2.] [Recovery will allow completion of move as per normal. Otherwise still up on the catwalk.] [Saldin makes an ungainly landing.] [Guard three takes a shot at Ren as he seems the larger threat at the moment. The still healing body of guard four floats up off the catwalk and also flies at him. The two monkeys chitter happily as this happens.] [The body is particularly well directed. +1 from spreading, +2 from trick attack.] [The shot misses.] [The body slams into Ren and entangles itself around him. The guard herself seems to have nothing to do with this process. 11 damage and operating at half grapple penalties for now.] [Ren!] Bloody tekes! [The body also seemed near coming to, but is a bit further off now.] Evil little things. * Ren 'oofs' slightly, pushing against the incoming body, and grabs the rifle from it, bringing it to hand and taking a shot at one of the bloody teke monkeys. * Rowyn has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer ) [+2 penalty from size (accuracy helps), +2 penalty from draw and fire (steady hand helps). And +2 from being grappled. I'll allow a grapple attack or defense roll to get the body off of him to negate that last penalty.] [One of the monkey's goes down fast.] [Guard 2 attempts to get a last swing in on Saldin.] [And is potentially successful. Saldin, give me that dodge roll before you head off.] [Guard 1 takes another shot at Ren.] [Ren is out of the grapple. He takes another 11 stun damage and needs to make a soul/body roll at -4 against sleep.] [He's able to surpress the urge.] [Saldin, give me your defense roll then walk off. You can make a final attack or the like first if you so desire. [This blow connects, and Saldin takes 16 stun damage as electricity arcs through her naked body.] [And now Saldin's turn.] (And she walks off at the end of it, what she does first is up to you.) * Saldin gets zapped, but doesn't cry out and barely reacts, due to her intense pain training. She then shakes her head and says, "I believe I had ended it anyway." A faint smile as she hooks her previoussly discared clothes up via her foot and then hops for the walls, snagging it off her foot with a free hand. [And Saldin disappears. Sweet, I've got a Saldin story now. Beats the hell out Joe's story about how he helped Volt prep for next time."] [Guard 3 takes a shot at Ren as Guard 4's body flies at him once again.] * Saldin has quit IRC (Quit: Hey, you coulda got the sexy one, and then you'd be in trouble! ) [Both are aimed well.] [+1 from the body being spreading, but no bonus aiming penalty as monkey #2 is down.] [Ren gets out of the way of the attacks. The monkey chitters angrily.] [Ren's turn!] You're good, but we have numbers. Stand down. * Ren grins. "Only for the moment." He doesn't stand down, actually, tucking away the tranq rifle and jumping a few feet in the air, then JETS torwards the consoles, switching weapons again. ( Err. Tack a /me onto that. ) [The scientist near where Ren takes cover looks fairly petrified. "Don't kill me!"] [Ren can get a -4 cover bonus assuming he's crouching.] ( Totally crouching. ) * Ren grins, and aims the submachine gun at the scientist- then up, and sprays firey hot lead which explodes in countless small balls of flame- not that much damage to the consoles, though. [The consoles are big enough to still be damaged. However, a couple scientists who were hiding on the far side are scorched too.] Wouldn't dream of it. Now scram before you get hurt. Where?! Away from me. * Wounded scientist scream, so probably still alive, they were only in the outside spray. Scientists head for cover away from Ren.] [Collective enemies. Guard 2 runs down the catwalk and then takes a flying leap down at Ren while swinging the stun prod. Guards 1 and 3 are holding off in case he ports. One of the scorched scientist is also flung at Ren.] [And the flying leap attack is good. Defense roll Ren.] [The scientist throw is not, and she slams into a console and goes unconscious. Guard 4 uses this chance to heal.] [Ren manages to duck under a desk to avoid the prod. The console sparks again and the map screens show error messages. Doesn't look like anything is going to be accomplished here.] [Guard 1 takes his shot and misses. Guard three then takes his shot and his aim is better. [One more defense roll Ren. Then his turn again.] [This time the aim is true, Ren takes another 11 stun (AP) and needs a -3 bonus roll against sleep. [Ren's rush of adrenaline is enough to keep him awake fortunately. He can feel that the effect is increasing over time though.] [Ren, 4 rounds til help likely arrives.] * Ren takes another spray at the consoles. "Doesn't matter if you've got numbers, I've just won." [Ren lights up the undamaged consoles without any collteral damage this time. Most of the equipment is clearly broken if not totalled. The screens all switch to a "No signal screen." [Some of more clever scientists do try to escape by ducts.] We can still get some payback. * Ren rolls out, jumps, and puts on another burst of speed, arrowing through the air in the direction of the elevators. * Guard2 has a feral grin, he's obviously up for more fighting. [And Ren is again above the elevator.] Too slow, pal. *and then he's gone.* (Flip those) (Okay, we're basically done for the night. Give me what Ren's doing up there and we'll wrap.) (Checking up on Roger.) (Do NOT want him to worm his way out of the elevator into a duct.) [There's sounds of griping on the inside about how stun prods and tranq guns can't cut out of anything. There's some effort being made to open the top hatch.] * Ren calls out, loudly enough to be heard inside, "Stay put and I won't shoot holes through your roof." (Intimidate roll) [There's some discussion inside.] Alright. [Efforts cease.] [Mankin doesn't sound all that impressed, but it's still a fairly credible threat.] * Ren isn't bluffing. He's got a shotgun out aimed below him. ^^ [And time passes, not too long after some Mi-5 agents with night vision googles open up a door a ways up above. "What's the situation down there?" Secure! Roger Mankin is in the elevator, got some boosted guards inside the basement proper, with two telekinetic monkeys. The apparatus they were using for alternate travel is decidely turned off. Be careful with the guards. They've got armor penetrating tranquilizing rounds, and the monkeys are bloody annoying tekes. Excellent. We've got the rest of the board. Looks like a total success. Thanks for the heads up. Anything else we need to know? I don't know the status of the civilian scientists. Use tranqs on the guards. They regenerate. Understood. (Final comments...) * Ren glances down. "Have a nice day, Mr Mankin." And goes to join the other soldiers to help with mopup. [End!]
