[Date: October 18, 2020 10 am. For Saldin's sake, this is the day after the teke mission started.] [The tournament structure has changed for the last three rounds.] [The oil rig is still the base, but there's a new host to assist with the property damage.] [Breaker is there. Warlow is not. Mak, Edge, and Bookie are present and loitering about.] [The new host, by the look of him, is an pudgy and elderly African gentleman with a small goatee. He's wearing robes with traditional patterns from South Africa, if you happen to know that sort of thing.] [The gentleman is presently preparing a set of arcane symbols at the center of the oil rig. He uses a chalk that leaves behind a glowing residue.] [Bookie and Breaker watch with interest. Mak and Edge are too busy eyeing one another.] [Start] * Saldin stands. Like a pillar of monkiness. Male today, too. And in his standard robes. * Breaker gets bored with the arcane symbols and looks over to Saldin. "Yuri stopping by later?" * Yvonne has joined #SAB2020 * Saldin glances over to her and smiles enigmatically. "That is not up to me." The enigmatic smile fades. "Without an explicit purpose, one can never truly know." * Tim doesn't stand so much as loiter, and he's dyed his hair again, red this time. * Bookie glances over to Tim. "I tried dying my hair once. It came out a difference shade of brown." Oh... too bad. * Tim shrugs. "Depends on the dye, although I was kinda hoping for a bit brighter shade." * Saldin replies, "I am not her keeper. I'm sure if you want to talk time will be found." * Breaker smiles at that. "Good." So how's Yuri doing? * Yvonne arrives fashionably late. "Hi everyone!" Today she's wearing standard fare skimpy clothes without a great deal of need for description. I'm sure you can try your mecha again on her some other time. Geez.. not what I meant. * Breaker looks over to Yvonne. "Maybe that's all we're getting." She turns to the African man. "You ready?" * Saldin looks over at Bookie and replies, "Well. Taking to her growing duties." Beat. "Relatively unhurt." * African man looks up. "I take no more time than needed, nor any less." His accent is a variation on British. Fairly dignified. He gestures around the edge of his circle. "Approach." * Bookie looks down at that. "Good... I guess." * Yvonne heads over to Tim. "Hi Tim! Who's this guy?" * Mak and Edge walk towards the edge of the circle. * Bookie does as well. * Saldin looks at Bookie being chagrined, then walks forward himself. * African man looks over at Yvonnne. "Well, oh scantily dressed one, I will be your host for the later rounds. The location will be of your choosing, but our poor earth will be spared the damage you are wont to do it." * Yvonne walks forward looking chargened... weait, no, that happened a while ago. She just walks forward. "So do we get any prizes for making it to the third round?" ( Swap? ) (Sure) Well I've stopped spitting in the catered food. That's something. Eww. I knew that stuff was no good! She's kidding. ::His tone doesn't quite have the confidence his words claim:: Oh. Are you sure? 'Cause now that I think about it, that's almost like an indirect kiss. (INDIRECT KISS.) * Saldin doesn't respond at all. The hell does that mean? It means she's been watching too much Japanese TV again. * Yvonne grins at Breaker. Not the good kind apparently, with giant robots protecting the... ::he looks at Saldin and then looks down again. Stupid Monks with their being good guys and all:: (You DESERVE IT. SELLOUT.) Hey, I saw one of those. * African man looks to Tim. "While I am content to stand around and enjoy nture. After all, I'm paid by the hour. Perhaps you could stand on the edge of the circle." * Tim shrugs. "Whatever." Then he walks to the circle. * Yvonne grins. "It was neat. They had these giant robots that they couldn't use unless they stripped naked for some re... oh, sorry." She moves up to the circle's edge. Ah, to be young again. If only to grow, learn manners, and better myself. ::He stamps his foot:: [And with the stamp, the scene shifts...] ( We're now at a triangle ) ( rounds 3-5 shall be fought with DDR ) [You now stand at an intersection. Those with good knowledge of the world would recognize the bustling city of capetown. However, while the streets are crowded, the cars and people are all frozen. Even the breeze is stilled.] [Mak and Edge seem fairly non-chalant about this. Bookie's glancing around. Breaker keeps her eyes on the guy.] [End of description.] * Tim looks around, blinks when he sees the people and then shakes his head. * Saldin 's head doesn't move as he continues to look forward. I am an enchanter. I can bring you to a dimensions which mimick the world. You may now take time to stare around in awe. * Yvonne does. "Ooooooh. Ahhhhh." So, instead of blowing up our world we're going to blow up somebody else's. That's brilliant! * Saldin replies, "Nobody else's." * Enchanter looks pleased at these responses. "Thank you. And as the monk says, these dimensions are unoccupied. If I choose to have someone move..." He points and a pedestrian starts walks. "It is not because they live, but because my magic animates them. This world returns to the chaos from which I melded it once we leave." (starts walking) So can you go anywhere? Cool. ::She kicks a car and it flies up and backwards, landing upside down on another car, badly damaging both:: * Bookie looks startled at that. "Shit... don't do that!" I give it a 4. * Edge and Mak look like they're both assessing how much strength she used to do that. * Enchanter looks to Tim. "Oh, I'm sorry, have you created any worlds the raw force of your intellect lately? Am I in the presence of another expert." ? * Tim eyes the Enchanter. "Not you, her." * Enchanter nods. * Breaker in a mimicking tone. "Oh, I'm sorry, have you kicked any cars with the raw force of your...." She trails off. "Force? How's the rest go?" * Man coughs in an attempt to cut off any answers. He looks to Yvonne. "Yes, with advance notice. Anywhere on earth." * Mak looks up at that and drawls. "So, do we pick the places right?" * Enchanter nods. * Yvonne pouts "Only on earth? " Kicked? None, but if you're going to be throwing cars around try for style points for flipping them... oh and fireballs give extra bonus. I'm a defender of Earth aren't I? What do I care about fighting on the moon. ::She looks to Tim:: That's fair. ::Bookie nods as well at this criteria. Those of you that are guests can come in the form of etheral beings, capable of speaking to one another but not interacting with the fighters. ::He points off into the air where a hovering camera suddenly appears:: Much like that silly girl's video system. * Bookie looks up at the camera. "Oh, that's how they recorded it." Doesn't that mean we can only watch one of them at a time if they spread out too far? Or do you have that covered? * Yvonne tilts her head. Such trifles do not test my skills. All originate from the the platform that stands strong against the ocean. When a fight is over, all return there and may proceed to the next fight. The earthly location is secondary. Platform that stands... The oil rig. Why didn't he say that? [The random animated pedestrian has now wandered out of sight. He's apparently unbothered by all the frozen people.] * Enchanter turns to Breaker. "And I will now step aside, to allow your epic tournament to proceed." His tone is a tad condescending. Sooo.... if we wanted, could we fight on top of Tokyo Tower while Godzilla's trying to eat it? * Breaker doesn't catch it. "So two things to do. Pick locations and pick fights." Man, if I'd known it was going to turn out like this I wouldn't've given in. You've got an awesome power dood. I would have to create a monster of the size to give nightmares to the world's greatest empires. But of course, if your tastes run towards conventional Japanese tastes. As a bonus you could also have uniformed school children killing one another off in the background, but I find that distracts from the grandeur of the main event. You'd have still lost. Which reminds me, Ren Ran should be here. I beat him. She did. * Mak smirks. "Well..." * Tim shrugs. "Standing still is bad for my health." * Mak then removes a small vid screen from his coat. "Remind me, outside interference is strictly forbidden, yes?" Last time I checked, yeah. * Breaker nods. "Yeah." She looks on curiously as Mak unfolds the screen to a half meter by half a meter. It shows Edge falling from the tower wall after being sprayed with bullets by Ren. [Give me a sight awareness check all.] Well, I took the time to analyze the video from all angles. I was curious how Blade survived the being shot up. 2d8-4 * Edge snorts at Mak's mistake, but doesn't bother to correct him. Cute. [The Enchanter watches with a calculated disinterest. The others are more interested, but don't seem to notice anything.] * Yvonne tilts her head. "Huh? What?" What? I don't see anything. * Yvonne tugs Tim's sleeve. "What is it?" * Saldin says, as Mak would expect, "Interference." Well, it could just be a magic sword. * Yvonne pokes Saldin. "What interference? Where?" * Mak nods at Tim's comment. "Kid has it right." He shows the video again, this time in slow motion. A liquidy glow spreads out from the calvary sword Edge carries and surround her body, giving her a minimal amount of healing. It is a magic sword. So what? Is it an intelligent sword? Can it talk? Can it normally notice that 'Hey, Edge is unconscious, I should use that water witch's power to cure her.' * Bookie looks at the sword as if he has never seen a magic sword before. He seems impressed. "Can I hold it?" You can tell who's power that is just by watching it glow? No. And don't call her that. She's granted some of her own power into the sword, yes, but it is mine to command. * Mak looks to Tim. "No. Took a bit of detective work. But the water-- oh, I'm sorry, Illuminus's power is distinctive and I've seen it before. Ahh. * Edge's eyes further narrow at Mak's new choice of name. "It's granted power. Well within the rules." * Yvonne looks thoughtful. "Hmm.... So.... Was Edge cheating or wasn't she?" * Breaker frowns and thinks. Although her deep thought look has depths that can be easily seen in the average birdfeeder. Well. It does sound like cheating. Although if I could hold the-- No. Fuck, I don't know. Alright. Ren's back in. I suppose Edge can stay too, but no intelligent items. That's cheating from now on. * Edge and Mak both scowl but decide not to push their cases. So that snake's still kosher. Didn't do a lot of good anyways. So who wants to fight who? * Yvonne boggles. "So they're both in? That doesn't seem very fair." * Breaker looks to Yvonne. "You have a better idea? I'm not a lawyer." Call Matlock! He's a lawyer. ... Oh wait, he's dead. Um... Have 'em rematch. That will work I suppose. ::she glances around for other comments:: (Won't' that make it uneven? Again?) (It's already going to be uneven I think. I seem to have screwed that calculation up somewhere) Anyways, it's all screwed up because Kurt has apparently vanished. Like a ninja! That's what they do. He is. I guess. So, we'll have the rematch and three other fights. That leaves us with three for the last two rounds. Which is uneven. Have the three fight it out, first to drop is out. Have a wild card. Or put me back in or something, I dunno, it's your tourny. Eh, did Mak cheat? * Mak scowls at that. "No." Not that I know of, but I'm the only other person who happens to be here at the moment. * Yvonne nods at Tim. I don't want to redo the whole last round. I guess I'll go with whoever puts up the best losing fight. You guys can vote or something. Anyways, who wants to fight who? * Edge steps back, as she'll be rematching with Ren. I'll try to contain my disapointment. * Yvonne looks at the others warily. I pick the winner of the rematch. Kahlya's still in. She's just not here. ::Breaker nods at Yvonne's choice:: * Mak shrugs. * Bookie looks thoughtful. * Saldin has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) Not to interrupt you deliberations, but you should also choose your arenas so that I may prepare them. I can have eight ready for the rest of the tournament. Each of the missing contenders can choose one, you can pick the remaining six. Me too? I don't know who I'm fighting yet! The two of you can agree on which of the eight before the fight. Disney World. I always wanted to fight in Disney World. Oh... Whatcha got? Now this one I need to get on disk. The whole Earth. Tim, go ahead and make suggestions too. Hmm, what have I always wanted to watch get shot full of holes... I know! Nuke my parents house. None of us kill about your parents house. * Mechalink has joined #sab2020 * Mechalink is now known as Saldin If I say I do, can we use it? I can do post-apocalyptic. If you want an existing location blown up. * Breaker shrugs. "I suppose." * Yvonne snickers. "I'm just kidding! What I want is......." She builds suspense. Is? * Yvonne grins. "The tarpits at the La Brea museum in California!" * Tim snickers. Done. That was fast. * Tim rubs his chin. "What else would be good... how about an aquarium full of sharks?" Or a Chinese restaurant. Versailles palace? Or... or.... * Yvonne grins at Breaker. "The Colliseum!" Naw, swimming battles suck. The controls are terrible. * Tim sticks his toung out at Bookie. "Why did you think I chose it?" The what? Big stadium that the ancient romans fought in. Oh, sure. * Bookie laughs. * Yvonne pouts at Breaker. "Earlier you said that would be cool." How about a volcano? * Saldin stands there, unmoving. She got hit in the head a lot. You mean I hit a lot of things with my head! Err.. yeah. Yeah, volcano's good. Works for me. Inside of an airliner in flight. Kick ass. I like that. * Saldin raises his arm to point towards Bookie. "Bookie, is it not? I suggest we compete." Beat. "And perhaps a drastically cooler clime than you afforded my sister." * Bookie looks up. "She's your sister?" He looks a little worried about whether he's going to be visiting the city of brotherly beatdowns. I didn't know that. * Saldin blinks, then smiles slightly. "Only in the sense of a religious order." Beat. "Slightly japanese for that, would you not think?" Their religion is sexy. * RowynEatyn has joined #sab2020 * RowynEatyn has quit IRC (Quit: ) Who knows what your parents were up to. * Kahlya has joined #sab2020 Besides that could just be a curse or something. (Err...yeah, gotta go again. Sorry about this. ^^;) * Bookie sort of half heartedly nods. He looks worrieed. (So leaving right now?) (Going to sit and watch and log, but yeah, won't actually be on until later.) So cold. Where specifically? Ice cream store? Pick a pole, any pole. That way those of us not fighting can get slushies. * Saldin glances to Yvonne, then replies, "You will have to do without slushies." Beat, then, "Near the summit of Mount Everest. I can think of few more unreal places that would not kill a person instantly." He nods to the enchanter. How about the bottom of the ocean? That would work, I et. Oh. Oh, NOT kill. Yeah, we're trying to keep one person alive long enough to win. Then how about Shangri-la? That's pretty unreal. * Enchanter nods. "Everst does express thee true test of humanity against nature. We have our sixth location." * Enchanter stamps his foot and for a split second all activity, including cars, resume. The scene fades away as the intersection becomes active again. Once again you stand at the oil rig. That's all for now. So go home, or wherever you people go. ::She smiles at Saldin as she says the last bit:: I'd love to, but there's this guy see, and he needs to let us out of the alternate universe first. * Saldin smiles slightly, and then turns and heads off. "One could always try the middle of the ocaen," he comments idly. And then is gone. (Tim: Note the "One again you stand at the oil rig" :P) (Whups) (Sorry, somewhat distracted, I've been missing things in both games.) * Yvonne tugs Tim's sleeve. "Let's go make out!" That's a brillaint plan, as usual dear. [Mak and Edge eye each other and go off in seperate directions.] [End!]
