[Date: October 31, 2020. Time: 9 am.] [Location: SAB HQ. Briefing room.] [NPCs present: Eckerd and Mandy (cute but somewhat disturbing kid, hangs with Kahlya who isn't yet here).] [Start] (Maggie is either silent or absent, Cham's call when he arrives.) * Ren walks into the briefing room, quite somber looking. He sidles into a seat. Good morning strike force. I'll spare you any rallying speeches. ::she shows a slide with an old nordic guy, short hair along the sides slightly spiked on type:: This is your target. Kristof. He's a hell lord, he's launched terrorists attacks against England, ::she shows a slide of the Chunnel attack:: not to mention directly targeting several of our agents. [The agents targeted include Saki being tortured, Maggie being shot at by EU types and bad Peter, Breaker being charged by demons, not to mention that whole nastiness at the end of the tournament,] * Breaker walks in at this point. * Tim takes his feet off the chair next to him and sits up. "Yeah, we'd rather noticed." * Mandy glances at the pictures, she looks at Saki a little longer than the rest. * Yuri walks in with her! Her eyes glow yellow, strongly, and looks slightly different, although it might be hard to figure out how. Right. So your job is to keep him from preventing us from sealing off his domain. Ideally, kill him. The million is whether he's dead or alive, and alive is more work. * Marguerite has joined #sab2020 * Ren nods. "Does that mean take him out before you start the process, or keep his attention while you do it?" You'll be acting simultaneously. He is the lord of this domain, even with stealth, he has too many resources to defend himself against a single front attack. * Marguerite opens the door the briefing room, cigarette clenched in her teeth, and sunglasses on. "Sorry, sorry. Drunken pre-massacre celebrations shouldn't come with that much tequila." ::Eckerd glances at Maggie:: The trick is to have them afterwards. As an added bonus, whoever kills him gets command of his domain. Don't get used to it unless you want to be severed along with it. You can probably get a wish out of it, but if be sure to specify the means. Demons tend to cut corners when granting wishes. * Yuri stands near a wall, not bothering to sit. What happens if it goes free-floating? I don't think that's the end of the place. * Tim looks over. "S'why I had mine the day before yesterday, I can hardly feel the hangover." I had my big one like a week ago. ::she smiles at Maggie:: Yeah, yeah, go ahead and laud your "foresight." It's yours if you can keep the rule. Maybe reformable, maybe not. Once we sever it, it's out of my jurisdiction. * Mandy looks a little concerned. Any other questions, or shall I proceed to your entry options? Just a request. If I don't come back, toss my share to the tekes. * Marguerite looks to Eckerd. "We're killin' him, right? No whammies on this one? In, boom, out?" * Eckerd nods. "Done." She looks to Maggie. "You can put his head on a pike for all I care." Biblical. * Eckerd smiles. "But melting it with plasma will also do nice." * Eckerd's phone rings. She glances at it for a moment. I'm sure we can come up with a pike made out plasma. You should take that. * Marguerite nods. "Good enough for me. How're we getting i..." * Eckerd nods and does. "Hello?" (Anyone wanting to eavesdrop can attempt a hearing roll.) * Yuri smiles faintly and says, "I don't think she needs a pike. Too phallic." Beat. "How's Bubba doing?" Yes. You would get the reward and a clean slate. Is there a problem? If you listen hard enough, angelic choirs go off every time I fire. * Ren leans forward for a moment, curiously. Is that true? Because you could probably hook up a mp3 player or something if it wasn't. * Marguerite yawns. "It ain't true." Beat. "It's Egyptian chanting, actually. But it sounds pretty fuckin' swet." Kickass. Emma or Volt? * Eckerd shakes her head but doesn't reply otherwise to Ren. I'd go with Ride of the Valkieries, myself. * Ren leans back and lets the woman work. I don't think so. Do you want a direct discussion? * Mandy watches with interest. * Marguerite pulls out a flask and takes a sip. "You oughta see the fucker fire now. Lensed plasma's some kind of wacky shit." * Tim rubs his chin. "Hmm." I'll make sure everyone is clear on the terms. We're making the offer because you're quite effective. Also, I don't think you'd mind a chance to get back at Kristof. If need-be Mai can give you a remote briefing to let you know what you need so that we can't find you again. But you need to make a call. Are you in? * Yuri flexes her hand idly, as she waits. The relevant powers are grounded in this world. In the event of an emergency, brief hopping may be possible. Otherwise, I wouldn't risk that asset. * Tim pulls a fun-sized candybar out of a pocket and starts to unwrap it. * Breaker hums Girl from Ipanema. As is her wont. * Marguerite starts to take another sip of her flask, then pauses halfway to her mouth. "Oh god. Please let that have been a drunken dream..." She pats down her jumpsuit, stopping when she hits a pocket midway down her chest. * Ren raises an eyebrow at Maggie. ... fuck. FUCK. Yuri, you are not gonna believe what I bought last night. * Yuri glances over to Maggie. Glowing yellow eyes look her over. "Do I want to hear this?" My end of the conversation is not private. * Tim looks at Maggie. "Okay, now you're going to have to tell all of us." He then throws the candy bar in his mouth, whole. No. No, you don't. I'll show you in a minute when I'm sure I'm not gonna fucking blow chunks when I look at it... Walk away early, no reward. We'll arrange pickup, your associate can pass on the briefing, yes? * Marguerite finishes taking a sip from the flask, and shudders. * Yuri rubs her nose a moment, before saying, "Probably for the best." * Eckerd directs the call elsewhere and then returns to the briefing. That's far less entertaining. You have two entry options. Option one is direct. We believe there's a portal that goes deep into the hell realm accessable via the mansion. It will likely be well defended, but less defended than going through the front we're opening up. * Marguerite looks at Tim. "Alright, you asked for it." She reaches in the pocket without looking and chucks a small golden something at Tim. * Tim reflexivly catches it and then looks down to see what's in his hand. * Eckerd follows that for a moment and decides she doesn't need to know. Option two involves the source of the gold Kristof has been using. ::she shows a map of Oslo's harbor including a sunken battleship:: We traced it to a horde on a German Battleship sunk during WWII. It was never retrieved due to the risks involved with the sunken ship. * Tim turns it over a few times. "You've either bought a holy relic, or the saltiest dried plum ever." Congratulations, you're groping St. George's fucking testicle. His left one, if the guy who sold it to me was right. * Yuri looks over to Tim a moment, and then runs her hand over her head. "Oh, that's... great." * Tim sets it down on the table. "I hate it when I'm right." Well that's damned cute. Lovely. I won't ask about the seller. Our divinations have found that a backdoor is present in the Blucher's wreckage. You'd have to scuba dive in. It may be defended, but the resistance should be substantially less. * Ren twitches a bit at 'scuba.' Anyway, I'm in favor of the back door. Yeah, I'm not liking the underwater option. Whatever. (1-1-1) I'm rootin' for the front door. * Mandy smiles. * Yuri closes her eyes a moment and says, "Saldin will likely be holding the line at the front door. But you never know with us." Faint smile. * Eckerd nods. (1-2-1) I mean realy, he's going to have a whole army waiting at the front door, if you're going that way you might as well just join everybody else fighting their way in. This isn't holy water, right? No. It's just cold. Yeah, but this isn't the main front door. This is like, the side door. We're not gonna be fightin' the whole thing. Mmm... water then. (2-2-1) * Ren shrugs. "A couple a tanks to give us a break into the front door would help out." * Eckerd looks to Yuri. She has a slight smile. "It appears the voice of the world is the tie-breaker." No, there's the group blowing the side of the house off, and us picking the front or the back door. So they're makin' a new fuckin front door. That's where they're breaking the ties at. * Yuri rubs her forehead a moment and then exhales. "We are not... tiebreakers." * Mandy nods. Well, you learn a new skill every day. Clearly we need to rope somebody else into the mission to vote. * Ren chuckles. "Cheshire doesn't wanna do the water thing no-way, no-how." * Breaker takes out a coin. "I'm bored. I'll decide this if I have to. Heads water, tails baddies." Sorry, one body, one vote. 'sides goin' in the front door is gonna be more of a distraction than sneakin' in the side door. Yeah, but we want HIS attention, not his door goons. A missile barrage can get their attention. * Breaker flips the coin. We can walk in after. Front it is. (2-3-Yuri) Luck's on our side, boys. And gal. * Tim eyes the coin. "Riiight." * Mandy snickers. Relax, ain't nothin' a little blood and gore won't fix. * Marguerite plucks the relic off the table and tucks it in her pocket. [And your flown to Scandinavia. The assault on Kristof's mansion is presently being mopped up. There's still the occassional fire fight and you do note support from both the EU and Peter's group.] * Marguerite looks down. "Fuckin EU mooks." [Saldin can be glimpsed moving towards the front lines and Will is presently performing USO style duties for the wounded. He gives Yuri a kiss before she heads in. Breaker groans.] * Yuri looks suitably embarassed. Stupid PDAs. * Ren chuckles. Kids. [There's a few demons to easily frag along the way, but you're lead into a fortified sub-basement. There's a fairly ominious looking elevator and set of stairs.] Aw. No tongue? He clearly doesn't love you enough. * Ren whips out a shotgun for general visibility, slinging it over his shoulder. * Tim follows with his hands in pockets. * Rev. Warlow, the battle priest, does the final guiding. "Our divining has found that both methods lead directly to his fortress. The elevator is apparently faster but more exposed. * Yuri glances to Maggie and then back forward, replying, "That can be later." So, Yuri, how come you've got a boyfriend again? * Marguerite lights up a fresh smoke. "Hey Warlow. Wanna see half of St. George's package?" Well, a third. * Warlow laughs. And then stares at Maggie for a moment. "Wait, you're serious. Well sure. He's our patron after all." * Yuri looks to Tim and says quietly, with a faint smile, "It is a long story. But the world decided I could." Beat. "Even if he is not the same man he was before." * Kahlya walks along, all covered and cloaked up. She's looking at the building and then glances around as she walks up near Warlow and the group. * Marguerite pulls the relic out and dangles it on a gold chain towards Warlow. "He musta had a handsome satchel." Ahh, congrats then. I'll have to find some way to make fate have you have enough time to tell me then. * Warlow looks but doesn't touch. "That he must have." * Yuri 's smile fades away and she just nods. "Maybe, Tim. Maybe." * Warlow then looks serious again. " Choose your approach, Godspeed and good hunting." * Marguerite tucks it back away. "You bet, Warlow. Gonna fuck us up some demons." * Ren pauses. "We go headlong into the breach, dear friends and comrades. Leave your worries, your doubts here, for all we shall bring with us is quite a few damn cans of whoop-ass." * Kahlya 's been scanning and listening in on the building the whole time, seeing if she can hear where there's less fighting while she's at it. [Based on the noise of it, about equal adversaries either way. There's flying ones beyond the elevator and walkers beyond the stairs. There's no good guys there yet though.] * Kahlya tilts her head and sighs. "Seems pretty well filled up." [The main front is actually through a larger portal in the mansions stable. Right now some EU mooks are cheering some impressive Saldin exorcising. From the sound of it, some may be particularly impressed with his 'technique.'] [By technique, we do in fact mean naked body.] Stairs are harder to fuck up. * Kahlya eyes that curiously, not taking her eyes off. "Say...Yuri..." * Marguerite chews on her cigarette. "Don't care, let's move." Do all monks like getting naked for the art? I vote we do what the coin says, it got us here. Bookie once strained a tendon jumping down-- Okay. Heads, stairs. * Ren eyes Tim momentarily. * Breaker looks. "Stairs it is." * Yuri looks to Kahlya and replies, "No, but when you must, you must." * Yuri looks back forward. "And we must." * Ren heads for the stairs. * Kahlya walks after Ren then. * Warlow stays to watch you head down and then heads back to the front. * Tim walks after Kahlya because he doesn't want to go last. [You manage to go down for a while without incident. Give me body (endurance) rolls, -4 bonus. You can ignore the rolls if you have speed.] * Marguerite pulls Bubba, which now has some kind of device latched over the front plasma vent. [In addition, give me awareness, sense of choice rolls.] [Kahlya hears two groups of three critters moving below. One set has claws and moves in leaps and bounds, the other doesn't but moves fast anyhow.] [Yuri, give me your sixth sense roll.] [And everybody do init. Those who made the endurance roll get a surprise round.] [Everyone else is a little off their game, but suffers no other penalties.] * Kahlya pulls out Frozen Tear and holds up 6 fingers silently. 2d8-3 [Breaker, Doggies, Maggie, Ren, Yuri, Tim, Kahlya, Lizards] * Yuri mutters quietly, "The lizard types again, Maggie." [And coming up from lower floors are three human-sized dog-like demons. They're purple and have sharp teeth but no eyes. IN addition, there's red large lizards jumping their way up.] Fucking shit. [Because of the awareness check, those that made endurance checks get to act this round.] [Breaker] * Breaker kicks one of the dogs. It's knocked against the wall, but gets up again. [Dogs can't go this round.] [Maggie.] ( It gets knocked down / It gets up again / Never gonna keep it down o/~ ) * Marguerite ratchets Bubba to spread mode, and aims for the center lizard. [The lizards are burned. The plasma briefly shines white and entirely destroys their bodies.] (When she fires, it DOES kind of sound like Egyptians chanting) [So down to one lizard and three doggies.] [No Ren or YUri. Tim!] [Kahlya!] [Wait, Kahlya missed.] [Next round, Breaker again.] [She stomps on the dogs head. This time, it stays down.] [Two dogs, one lizard.] [Doggies] [One attacks Breaker, one attacks Maggie.] * Breaker looks like she might be bit by some rather nasty looking claws. Maggie easily skirts the dog though. However, the dog moved up really fast to make that attack, so there's a +2 penalty to target it.] * Tim sees the dog making a break for it and drops what looks like it used to be the side of an armored EU personal carrier before somebody exploded it in its path. "I don't think so mutt." [Steady hand helps.] [Maggie.] Ha ha, fuck you, bitch! EAT GOD'S PLASMA. [Breaker might get hurt.] [Maggie, go ahead and attack.] * Mutt wimpers. * Marguerite spins on the dog, ratchets Bubba back to normal mode, and fires at it. [Mutt-vaporated. The holy didn't seem to effect this one, but the plasma was sufficent.] * Marguerite has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer ) uerite [The pulse shimmers but doesn't disappear.] [Ren!] * Ren calmly walks up to one of the dogs, whips the shotgun out against it's head, and simply pulls the trigger. [The dog's moving a bit to fast.] [Yuri!] [One and one in terms of baddies.] * Yuri grits her teeth, steps forward, and swings into a lizard with her fist, hard. Just a full-bore swing! [The lizard takes a foot to the face. In addition, Yuri's amulet flashes and the lizard slinks back for a moment.] [Tim's moved to Maggie's position in the init.] [Kahlya!] [The foot to the face, for the record, resulted in a half-dozen teeth flying out of the lizard's mouth and embedding themselves in the far wall.] * Tim whistles. * Ren chuckles. "I see Will's been teachin' ya a few things." * Yuri comes back to her feet, eyes still glowing. "Will, but not Will." [Err.. make that fist, not kick.] [And the fist of an angry demi-god at that.] * Kahlya eyes that and jumps over onto the last dog's back, scythe blade poised at its skull. Session Time: Sun Mar 11 23:00:01 2007 So is this Will from before? A replacement Will? A Will this is the wrong time to be asking about? [Doggie leaps back in time. It's a fast bugger, and apparently has extra defense.] * Yuri replies, dryly, "Wrong time, yes." Right, gotcha. * Kahlya grins. "Slippery devils, ain't ya?" She twirls the scythe behind her, under her arm, aiming to pierce under the chin in the backswing. * Marguerite eyes Tim. "Are you one of those people who discusses their cases of crotch rot while on the goddamn cellphone on the fucking bus? Loudly?" [The dog jumps to the side, but the flurries of blows has been too much and it's jaw is sliced off.] [The dog growls its last as a chunk of its mouth falls off. IT then collapses.] [Lizard!] * Lizard goes for retaliation again Yuri!] Nah, I make it a point to never take the bus. [That's a potential hit.] So you don't talk about it at all, then. Fuckin' shame. I'm sure it's green or some shit. Hold on a sec. If you get lucky you can get 'nother holy hourglass. * Tim gifts the lizard with an engine block. Dude, Tim's sack is not holy. Unless he's been washin' his short 'n' curlies in the font. [Lizard blocked!] [Breaker!] * Breaker jumps up to take the lizard but embarrassingly misses. You're welcome to inspect it yourself, but I maintain that it's clean. [Maggie!] * Marguerite spins and fires at the last lizard. As pleasant as this conversation is, there's other things at stake here. [Vaporized!] Fast little mutts. Don't seem to be so great at stopping. * Marguerite drops Bubba's clip out, and reloads him. "Pfft. Fuck. I've got it under control." [With that group cleared you can go down many more flights of steps. It gets steadily warmer as you go. We break as you reach one last long dark final set of stares that seems to lead into the manner proper.] [End!]
