[Date: September 14, 2020] [A few of the television reporters talk to the camera a bit, sometimes providing quick summaries in a few different languages, most of the others head off. Fair amount of grumbling at cutting it just when the meat got out.] * Jonathon sighs and puts away his pad, walking up to the podium. He looks at a few fellow reporters and shakes his head. "Bloody media circus..." [One reporter comments to another as they leave. "I can see tabloid headline now. POT colon KETTLE BLACK." The other snickers.] [There's a support crew currently cleaning up the area, content to let Jonathon stand by the podium for the moment.] * Jonathon rolls his eyes and sticks his hands in his pockets, looking to see if anyone stuck around. Not sure if Lanova would be up to questions at this time...most likely the president wouldn't be...pity. [He notices Lanova standing with a swords woman, they seem to be having a slightly subdued argument, and Lanova glances back occassionally, but the swordswoman eventually seems to have won and they both walk away.] Can I help you with something Mr. Marylne? * Jonathon glances over at the press secretary and smiles a little. "One question is awful short, don't you think? Would the general and president be up for a couple more statements?" * Jonathon thinks about that. "Actually, I think I shall call to set up an appointment. I have more pressing matters to attend to." He runs after Lanova. Better luck with her. Sorry, and you can forward questions to their office if you like. Have their contact information. * Jonathon nods and rushes, pen in hand. "Excuse me! Miss Lanova!" (Coming) [Security flak blocks Jonathon as they turn the corner.] * Jonathon smiles and waves his pen past the security, though he doesn't step past, calling out. "Just a few questions! Off the record if need be." I can get you contact information for her, she meant what she said at the end. [No one comes back for now.] * Jonathon turns around towards the secretary, smiling at him. "Don't think I know that? But I am simply curious of a few names and the like. I have no intention of making any accusations of the sort. * Press secretary nods. "I'm sure she'll appreciate that, but I think she needs to get to work on the chunnel." * Jonathon rubs his head and looks at the secretary. "Yes, I DO realize that. I was simply offering a contact of someone who might be able to assist. I do not know if they'd be a willing party. But apparently, she's gone now, so I suppose it doesn't matter." I'll make sure your offer reaches you. ::sounds like he actually means it:: Yes, but it doesn't mean quite as much if it is not delivered in person. People these days. No concept of human relations. Oh well. [Jonathon gets approached by an apparent crew member for the Al Jazerra affiliate. "Mr. Marlyne?" * Jonathon stops and smiles at the affiliate. "Yes?" Ms. Malzoon (the Arabic reporter) was hoping you'd be kind enough to have a professional meeting over the next few days. * Jonathon raises an eyebrow. "Oh? For what purpose if I may ask?" * Crew member grins slightly sheepishly "She didn't tell me all the specfics, but she promised that you'd get your fair share of any information excahnge." * Jonathon smiles at that and takes his posture back a little. "Only if I'm divulgent of my own information I suspect? What if I feel my information is more valuable than hers? No offense, but it is highly possible that one of us is more informed than the other." Isn't all about current information, unless you have extensive Middle Eastern and South Asia contacts already. Hmm... Information for contacts you say? Interesting proposal. However, how will I know that I require such contacts in the future? The Deadly Sun is more local as is. Plus, I'm not entirely sure that the spin attempt is warrented. I'm certain you have your reasons though. * Crew guy shrugs. "Do what you want. If nothing else worth considering as a professional courtesy, anyways, here's where to contact her and I need to get back to work." I will talk to her, rest assured. But I make no guarentees. [End]
