[Kurt doesn't immediately notice any extra security precautions.] [Resume!] * Kurt starts looking carefully over this side of the doorway, looking for the special sensors he knows has to be there. [Roll them again, with -2] [Kurt notice that there's metal and electronics sensors on the door. Fairly subtle, nothing his powers shouldn't cover though. He's fairly certain the door doesn't have any other sensors on it.] [He doesn't gain any info about the guards booth or the short hallway in front of the door though.] * Kurt takes all the time he needs to go over both the hallway and the guard's booth, keeping track of whether or not the guard seems able to see him. Probably not, at this point, but you never know. [Alright, describe a few checks you're doing for potentially higher bonus.] * Kurt specifically looks for anything capable of somehow making him visible, but anything else that happens to come into view is fair agme. [Okay, first give me another normal awareness roll.] [While he looks, he notices that there's small disguised breaks between the normal hallway and the short hallway in front of the door. Aside from the window to the security booth, the floor, the walls, and the ceiling all have what looks to be finely tuned pressure plates.] [He also notices that the guards are going through the process of opening the door, apparently for someone covering from the other side.] (coming) * Kurt backs up to the opposite side of the wall and gets ready for the door to open. [In clarifition for the record: The breaks area at the threshhold of the three foot long short hallway, they are there to hide the fact that the entire hallway has sensors.] [The door opens fairly fast, there's two people in lab coats standing at the far side.] * Kurt runs straight for the open door, making a beautiful long jump... then just as he's about to pass over the threshold of the small hallway, his invisible form melts into the form of bird, gliding on nothing but momentum for the open door. [Okay, give me a body roll to avoid the two techies. -4 bonus. Any skill you can justify to make it easier I'll accept.] [The guards, for the record, are completely oblivious.] (Actually, I'll give you -2 per level of jump. Acrobatics helps.) [Kurt easily glides through the two techies, making only a slight elegant adjustment when one turns to another to show a clipboard. He sails down the three meters on the far side of the hallway as the door closes behind him.] * Kurt looks for someplace safe to land. [The interior hallway is actually slightly drab, there's a blue stripe along the side and the guide signs just have letters in numbers, apparently meaningless ones.] [There's a slight ambient hum.] [He finds a safe spot with ease.] * Kurt starts questing... to the LEFT! * Kurt gets back to his normal form as he goes that way, though. It's kinda cramped being a bird. [Alright, give me an awareness check.] [There's doors on fairly regular intervals. They're closed and have key card readers. No windows.] * Kurt rolls his eyes and keeps going, looking for somebody... anybody. [He notices the humming has gotten slightly quieeter. He also notices that each door has four rapidly rotating lasers (not the deadly kind), one at each corner. There are sensors on each side of each door that can receive the signal. He also notices that there's some sort of electronics (not sensors) spread at surrounding the hallway at regular intervals.] [Not noticing any people just yet.] [He also notices olifactory sensors, but he's good on that score.] * Kurt slows down a little, but keeps going. [The humming stops getting quieter, it stays at alow ambient level.] [There's a corner at the end of the hallway, he can hear someone walking on the far side.] * Kurt advances to the corner and waits to see which direction the steps are coming. [He notices in the distance down the hallway there's a guard, fairly heavily equiped, walking away from Kurt. There's a techie walking towards you, he's looking at a PDA.] [He's in a labcoat, ID card hanging in front. He's muttering to himself. "Damn security, have to check the map to find the broom closet. And cleaning staff? Noo..."] * Kurt decides instantly that this techie is worth following. * Techie keeps going, he walks past Kurt without noticing and looks at a door on the right and checks his PDA again. * Kurt follows along behind the techie, looking over his shoulder to see if the PDA's backlit. [It is in fact. Give me a visual awareness check. -6 bonus.] [The map has large blacked out sections that are marked "Above Clearance Level" he's right in front of the mop closet. His main section is apparently "Mystic Compensation Data Section." There's also a "Technical Support" and "Main processing" section.] [He there's door numbers by each.] [He opens the door in front of him with his key card and goes in. There's a beep when he passes the laser sensors. Inside is a supply cabinet.] * Techie searches around for a while, curses when a box falls on him, but eventually finds his mop and puts the box away. * Kurt tentatively reaches through the doorway to see if the sensors pick him up. [There's a beep from the sensor. The techie looks back and notices some supplies on the floor near the doorway and goes to pick them up. "Damn, I'm a clutz today."] * Kurt withdraws his hand quickly. * Techie walks out again in a bit holding the mop horizontally. There's a long beep as he walks out the door, which shuts behind him. He then gets walking back to his area. * Kurt follows along behind this guy, assuming he heads back towards area marked "mystic compensation yadda yadda" * Techie does in fact do so. He scans his key card and the door opens. Kurt can hear in the distance the guard coming closer. He's still well around the corner though. * Kurt follows as closely behind the techie as he possibly can. [There's a long beep as the techie walks in, he then spins to the right. "Got it!" A female coworker looks over to him. "Okay, now clean it up. I can't believe you left soup in the fridge for three months.] [And Kurt, give me a defense roll against spinning mop] * Kurt ducks! [Kurt easily gets out of the way and is safely inside. The room is cramped but not huge either. Several consoles, an older woman working at one. There's a mess by the fridge with rather moldy looking soup remains on the floor. Techie gets to work on it.] * Kurt makes for the woman, looking for an opportunity to lift her id badge. [One of the walls has a quiet hum about it and a fair number of wires emerging from the bottom. There's cover panels along the bottom and top.] * Kurt takes a careful look around for any security cameras. [There are two, they scan back and forth.] [The whole room is about the size of a living room in an apartment.] * Kurt looks around carefully, thinks of a plan, then waits for the moron with the mop to leave. [He goes out after two minutes.] * Kurt calmly slips out a small cloth and a flask, wets the cloth, and walks up behind the woman. [She has no idea you were coming.] * Kurt reaches around and holds the cloth over the poor woman's nose and mouth while holding her steady from behind. [Okay, unarmed attack roll] * Kurt easily controls the struggling as the woman instinctively inhales the nasty smelling chloroform and slumps over after a few seconds. * Kurt drags her as quickly as possible over to the dead zone caused by the fridge and hides her as best he can. [Okay body roll. -4 per level of speed if you're applying.] [Kurt moves the body quite quickly.] * Kurt heads over to the server space and places the ward generator in an unobtrusive spot, then takes a moment while it processes to take on the appearance of his victim. (Disguise roll. -6 bonus) [Kurt disguises himself quite convincingly.] [The little ward generator ticks away.] (Not audibly. Just thinks) * Kurt prepares himself. [And before it finishes the techie comes back in. With a beep.] * Kurt curses silently and moves to take him down quickly. * Kurt would blur if he were visible as he streaks over to the door to slap the still-wet cloth over that moron's mouth before he can say anything. [Attack roll!] [Techie goes down easily. Body roll for moving the body!] * Kurt drags the body over and slams it down on top of the other woman's body, as quickly as he possibly can. [And the body is safely disposed of. Not long after the ward generator starts printing a series of complex looking presumably mystical characters.] * Kurt rushes back over to the ward generator, cursing himself for not waiting for the dork to get back. [The ward is now complete.] * Kurt assumes he's visible now and pops open the server, looking "concerned" [There's a crawlspace underneath that's visible when you pop open the server. Alternately you can pull out a tall thin shelf of computing components.] * Kurt crawls carefully down into the crawlspace, looking for a good spot to place the doohickey. (Hide check!) [You find a pretty good spot that's between two of shelves. Shouldn't be visible unless someone goes looking and puts a lot of work into it. * Kurt slips the silly thing into place and makes his way back out. [He's back in the room!] * Kurt climbs out, palming the ward-generator as he does so. [He does so without any trouble.] * Kurt heads over to the woman, grabs her ID card, and heads for the door. [Kurt gains one ID card. There's a button on the inside of the door to open it.] * Kurt heads for the door, hits the button to open the door, and heads out. [There's a beep from the door. When he gets out he notices the commando guard walking down the hallway. "Ann, have you seen Rich? He's apparently disappeared off the security nets." Not in about ten minutes, I was getting a little concerned myself. (Acting roll!) * Guard nods and radios that in. "Please call in if you see him." No problem. (Give me a second acting roll) * Guard nods and walks back the way he came. * Kurt frowns and follows after him. (This is the way away from the door. Just so you know.) ( Oh, sorry. ) * Kurt goes the OTHER way. [Kurt proceeds without much obstruction, by now the guard is around the corner. * Kurt picks up the pace quite a bit, heading for the way out. (Body roll, only -4 if you're actively using speed though.) * Kurt goes for a fast but not obvious pace but doesn't manage to make it nearly as quick as he like. But still he gets to the main door without any trouble.] * Kurt triggers whatever's necessary to exit from this side. [The door opens up! Awareness roll.] [Everything looks normal, except for the odd shadow or two and the sound of a few people breathing from the normal hallway that's on the far side of the door. There seems to be at least a few people waiting out there just out of sight.] * Kurt frowns and tries to go preemptively invisible. [He succeeeds and notices a grenade bouncing into the hallway in response. Roll for init!] [He barely notices the grenade in time but has about a half a second to react before it detonates.] * Kurt dives back out of the hallway and flips a single shuriken into the frame where the guarded hallway connects to the main hall. [The door slam shuts and there's a brief electrical crackle followed by the explosion.. You're currently within the computer section again.] * Kurt runs down the hall to the right, looking for the nearest room that was above the moron's clearance level. [Awareness roll.] [There's a glow and a louder electrical hum coming from the regularly spaced security systems in the hallway, they seem to be warming up. He finds the room though.] * Kurt pulls back his right fist, dropping the invisbility as it begins glowing bright red, finally igniting in an aura of hellish flame. He rushes forward with blinding speed and slams his fist into the door. [Attack roll!] [The door glows red hot and is bent backwards, opening up a sizable hole easily large enough for Kurt to enter through. And about now the forcefields in the main hallway kick in, but don't block his way in.] [However, he'd be hard pressed to get to another door. And there's an explosion from the far side of the main door.] * Kurt heads in and looks around for another server-type thing. [Inside of the room are three server walls and one casually dressed techie. He has his hands up at the moment.] * Kurt is beside the techie in a flash. "Where are the hard disks?" * Techie points to one of the servers. He actually looks shocked but not completely petrified. * Kurt zips over to the server in question and slams the cover off violently, looking for things that are vaguely disk-like. [He finds more a few that pass.] * Techie keeps his hands up. He's watching Kurt closely though and seems to have gotten over his initial shock at this point. * Kurt yanks them forcefully out of the server and slips them into waiting cargo-pockets. [Kurt gains +1 hard disk.] * Kurt reaches forcefully into the server, tapping a spot deep in the bowels of the machine, then leaps away. "Get down!" * Techie dives under a desk and a web of sparking wires forms to give some additional protection to the lad. Meanwhile server go boom! Hahaha! * Kurt pops out the probably still glowing door! (Note, add clearly unnatural before web of sparking) * Kurt doubletakes. [He gets out into the hallway, there's two commandos in the hall, both taking cover in doorways with guns trained on Kurt.] * Kurt looks at one commando, then the other. You'll never take me alive! [One of them is able to fire before Kurt has a chance to throw his shiruken.] (throw->use) [His aim isn't terrific but he does have a bead. So, fake dodge Kurt!] [Kurt's ninjitsu is insuffient as he takes a bullet in the chest and his dummy appearing a moment to late, recieves one in the chest and head, being knocked back to the still standing forcefield behind Kurt where it begins sparking violently!] [Currently the fields seprating you and the commandos are dow. (down) [Kurt's turn!] * Kurt spins back to his feet, trying to ignore the bloody hole in his chest as he slams a fist into one of the commandos. [The commando seemed to be better trained to deal with ranged attacks and is taken by surprise by the fist. He slams back into the nearest forcefields and resists going through for a split second, but then this particular field drops.] * Kurt spins to confront the other commando. [The other commando does get to attack first and opens fire, he takes some effort to avoid hitting his companion, but really, no point being too careful, cause if he fails both might be dead.] [His aim is fairly true, defense!] * Kurt is struck soundly by several bullets, right in his already wounded chest. He falls to the ground, limp. [The commando Kurt already hit is staying down, the second one is looking ready to put an extra bullet in the body's heart and head so the attack takes him by surprsie. * Kurt appears in a flash behind the second commando, sweeping his legs out from under him. * Kurt slides forward under the commando and kicks him straight up into the ceiling, kipups to his feet, and kicks him headfirst all the way across the hall to land on top of his partner. [Commando lands there without even twitching at all, his last expression was quite shocked.] [There is a sound of more chatter from the outer hallway, but nobodies coming in just yet.] * Kurt points himself towards the direction the "outside" is in. [He also has a shoeprint deeply embedded in his body armor. So much for kevlar.] * Kurt bites his left thumb hard to enough to draw a fair flow of blood. He brings his right hand in and uses the bloody thumbnail to sketch an odd symbol on it, surrounded by a staggered circle design. [The chatter outside suddenly dies down and there's the sound of a few footsteps.] * Kurt points the bloody symbol at the wall that will shortly no longer be there as he screams, "KATON! KARYUU! ENDAN!" A roaring torrent of fire nearly ten feet in diameter pours from the tiny symbol on his hand, obliterating everything in its path. [The wall is completely obliterated leaving a hole ten feet in diamter that goes through the inner wall, the structural supports, all the way to the outside. You have a good view of outside and one of the other sections of the building. Meanwhile several grenades come bouncing around the corner, although you again have about a half second to react.] * Kurt dives through the hole. [There's an explosion from behind Kurt and a large cloud of shrapnel and smoke from the hole he left. But he's well below that by this point, rapidly falling in the sadly vineless urban jungle that is Hong Kong. * Kurt smiles in pleasure as he enjoys the sensation of freefall for a moment, letting himself outrun any defensive emplacements. Once he's getting too close to the ground for comfort, his form shimmers and shrinks into a beautiful falcon who slowly changes from vertical to horizontal travel and sails off through the concrete jungle. [He doesn't take fire from the building as they don't have defensive embarkments that would involve attacking the larger city, so Kurt safely flys away.] (final comments?) ( Nada. ) [End!]
